(6/8/26) I'd never visited Andy's before. I've driven past it many times while visiting my dentist, but never stopped. That's a mistake that I won't make again. Their custard is delicious! I ordered a large vanilla concrete. No toppings required. The cup holds about 16oz and it tastes amazing. The service was pretty quick considering the line of people at the drive through. Ambiance... It's an old time custard shop. There were some families and teens waiting for their custard. It was perfect for my breakfast on a sunny 92* day. read more

The custard is amazing!! I have been here many times. Never been disappointed. Then what, you might ask are the 2 stars for, Bill? Well I'm glad you asked! The manager... She is always disinterested, often unfriendly, and sometimes...downright rude. I honestly don't know what her problem is, but it is a persistent one. Her attitude totally melts my ice cream. I'm to the point of just going somewhere else for ice cream because she can downright ruin the happy experience. Maybe she shouldn't be the one taking orders? It's too bad, but it's the truth. One can overlook bad service, but not a bad pattern Andy, can you hear me?? Edit: I tried sharing details with the OM mentioned here. Other than the initial template response, he never got back to me. Life is more important than leaving reviews or being salty about poor service, but, if your goal is to "resolve" bad experiences...mission not accomplished. Just letting you know. I since visited the Matthews location and it was awesome btw. Way different service experience. read more

This is my favorite Andy's in the greater Charlotte area, as I've had issues at the Matthew's and Cornelius locations. While none of the locations are near us, we will make the trek here for a special treat. Service has always been great, and they have been appropriately staffed. Their custard is definitely a great base as it is flavorful. My favorite to get is a seasonal offering - gooey butter cake concrete. It has caramel and chunks of gooey butter cake, a wonderful combination! We came here last month as it is back on the menu! Had to come by the moment it was announced! I have two complaints: 1. the price is high for what you get - the mixins are not what you should be getting - ends up being a ton of custard to little mix-ins. The ratio is definitely off. It is even worse if you get a pint to go. 2. They don't show you what they are ringing up and do not provide a receipt. It feels like a deceptive practice, especially when it is not a consistent total each time when you go, even if you order the same exact thing. I do enjoy Andy's, but I feel like there is room for improvement to get to the 4-5 star level. read more

Always so good!! We love coming here and the custard is amazing. The specials are always incredible

On a Sunday afternoon drive, Mrs. K. declared that she wanted frozen custard. So we're here in Waxhaw to get a frozen custard. Andy's is awesome and after having frozen custard a few states ago on our Spring Break trip, it was easy to come back to Andy's for another round. This time, my car fits in the drive through! Chocolate with Heath Bar crunch for Mrs. K. Vanilla with chopped nuts for me. Salty and sweet. Crunchy and smooth. Perfectly delicious and the "small" is definitely more than enough to satisfy that sweet craving. [Review 315 of 2025 - 4101 in North Carolina - 23877 overall] read more

I thought I'd check out the Waxhaw location since it was closer than Matthews. It's located not too far from Audrey Kell (Best Buy/HomeGoods shopping center) but kind of in the middle of nowhere but Kohls is across the way... upon arrival there were about 6 cars in the drive through and about 5 families at the walk up. After making my order, 2 cars were making orders. They work fast! Key lime pints were out for the night so they sort of upgraded me to a medium sized cup with bag for freezing. Associate said I was getting more for cup size. I finally tried the Jackhammer James brownie and it's sooo good. Peanut butter and brownies is a win anyway. I always get the Nutty Crunch. Key lime always hits. I wish I tried the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake when it returned earlier this month. I earned enough points to get $5 off my next order and it lasts a month! Location keeps one entrance closed for safety and less confusion. The walk up had a lot of napkins on the ground. If only customers would pick up after themselves. Associates were nice, friendly, and accommodating. I hope they make their money located there. read more

Jenna was terrific and should get a raise. Frozen custard is always good. Highly recommended.

I am very upset for typing this review since I enjoy Andy's very much. I've been going to the Waxhaw location since they opened but on August 8th, 2026 around 11pm I horrible experience. I've always asked for a military discount at this location and I would always get it, without a problem. On this specific night I asked for the discount and he told me that "they don't have or never had a military discount". I responded with "thats weird, I would always get one coming here". The employee then asked his manager for the "manager code" and the manager asked why he needed it but in a loud and rude manner. The employee did give me a discount at the end of the transaction but did mention that it would be the last time they gave me a discount, that they only offer the discount to fire and police. My complaint is why the switch up all of the sudden and why did the manager make a huge a deal about it? The manager was yelling at his employee that he was gonna take it out of his paycheck next time he does it and that "we have never offered a military discount". The manager was very loud and very unprofessional. Long purple hair, earrings, and taller male individual was the manager. read more

This was so good! I got the vanilla custard with marshmallow and waffle cone pieces and I loved it. I will 100% be coming back!

Andy's is tasty, but the drive-thru is very inefficient. They only take orders at the window--no advance order station--so the line moves very slowly. I've been several times, and only once did someone take orders outside with an iPad. Tonight I counted seven or eight employees, most of whom were just standing around because only one person is needed to take orders and one to make ice cream the way they have it set up. Surely there's a better way.... If there are more than four cars in line, save your time and skip it or walk up to the window instead. read more

I have been here a handful of times. The employees are never friendly just meh. The "custard" isn't gross but it has absolutely NO comparison whatsoever to Jenni's splendid ice cream in the Blakeney Shopping Center not even 3 miles down the road. In my opinion the ice cream options and staff are "night and day " Different. Especially love at Jenni's you can have /taste test 6, 7, 8 different flavors if you choose ALWAYS given with a clean tiny metal Spoon not one ice cream shop other than Jenni's does this . Andy's you have a lot of work to do in my own personal opinion. read more

I stopped at Andy's last night for a weekend treat! It was one of my favorite spots through college so I was excited to try out this location. They have drive thru and walk up options to order, however on weekend nights the drive thru is crazy packed! I waited about 25 mins as service was slow and they only had one window to order, pay, and grab your ice cream. The milkshake however was worth the wait... delicious flavors and creamy custard.. YUM! I personally love this style of ice cream because it's on the thicker side so it takes a while to melt. Andy's has SO many options from shakes to sundaes and concretes - I truly love them all!! read more

Phenomenal custard! This place is awesome and definitely lives up to the reputation. Incredible homemade flavors--I ordered the James Brownie jackhammer and it was delicious. The chocolate flavors were intense, the peanut butter was less. I enjoyed the combination. The small was huge!! Got my husband the Boot Daddy concrete small--vanilla with oreos. The staff at the drive through were so kind and helpful. I had never been so needed some advice for my order. I enjoyed the frozen custard and the kid's size was plenty for my kiddo. They have a drive through and picnic area outside for customers. Loved the custard!!! Definitely going to return soon!! read more

I was in the drive thru last night. They gave me the wrong item. They refused to give me what I asked for. Said they can't take it back. While eating my ice cream it had plastic particles inside. It was rubber, making me gag. I am never going to come back to this place. It was awful. read more

Came here with some friends after dinner. They were steady, not crazy busy. Their drive thru was busy though. We walked up and ordered a few things. Place is chaotic because you order from one person. Wait on the side and wait for your order to be called from the same person that took your order. The line gets backed up and it's hard to tell where the line actually starts. I got the small cone with vanilla and chocolate. Both tasted really good and it was the right amount of size. Overall, it was a decent experience and I would come back. read more

Andy’s Custard - Small cone - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Waxhaw, North Carolina

First time visiting this location. They were not busy but the cashier at the register had a terrible attitude. The custard was good. I had the small cookie dough but my overall experience was tainted by the horrible customer service. Everyone else seems to be working really hard at their stations but both my boyfriend and I noticed that she should not have been at the front "greeting" other customers. I might come back and try again but I won't go out of my way. read more

I love their ice cream but the no sprinkles policy if you get your ice cream in a cup has to be the most stupidest thing I have ever heard! Thanks for the response Andy's. Why don't you just let us have sprinkles on any order? It's a very simple task and sprinkles are pretty cheap! I like a kids cup not the sundae. read more

Discovered this while shopping in South Charlotte and needed a dessert pick me up. We stopped by and I got their Snowmonster Concrete. They are super quick and the regular size is super big. Very good bang for your buck. Its really delicious and well crafted but I think I would just like it to be thicker but that's really a personal preference. Make sure you get pecans added because it really does add another layer of taste. I'll definitely be back to try more things! PS. They also have a drive thru which is super legit! read more

Was visiting a bestie in NC beginning of July 2022 and it was in the 90's. So he brought me Andy's Frozen Custard (his go to apparently) and it totally hit the spot. The menu has a lot of delicious and quirky named items like BootDaddy and Texas 2-Step. I created my own with some peanut butter cups and cookie dough. It tasted divine, especially on a hot day and very reasonably priced that won't break the bank. They have a large variety of staple toppings but also some drizzles I haven't seen much of like Key Lime Syrup etc. Overall, if I ever visit again, will definitely drop by Andy's for a dairy delight! read more

Ice cream is elite. service is quick. And it always looks nice. A great dessert treat that's open for awhile

I went in to redeem my "free" small concrete for my birthday. I was charged $.63 because apparently it's only up to $5.00, but nowhere on the app does it mention that. I asked to speak with the manager and his response was, "Yeah, that's where they get you". Kind of shady. read more

Custard is top tier in charlotte. We drive 20 mins sometimes just to get it. Highly recommend

This is such a cute, old-timey custard stand! You can either order through drive-thru or walk up to the window. Service is quick and they have a variety of options: shakes, sundaes, splits, mix-ins, etc. I actually prefer a simple vanilla custard for the true flavor. Of course the other items are good too but omg when you look at the number of calories in most of their offerings, you might think twice lol. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth. read more

It's impossible to miss this colorful, nostalgic little custard shop curiously located beside a mattress store on Rea Rd in the Blakeney area. We had highly anticipated its opening as there is really nothing comparable in the area. To avoid the line of about 20 people we opted for the drive thru and were served in less than 10 minutes. We ordered a basic choc/van large cup and small toffee concrete (or blend). It was tasty and a welcome departure from the nearby price gouging TCBY, both product-wise and price-wise; although calorie-wise, I can't say. The limited service we experienced was young and unsure. Still, we'll most certainly return. read more

Well, well. A pure custard place. Nothing but custard. So it has to be good...and it is. Chocolate and vanilla for flavors. Tons of toppings to choose from. Cones, sundaes, cups all varying in size. Clean as a whistle and nice servers working inside. No tables, but a few metal mesh benches outside. Also a drive through, but I have never figured out how to drive a stick shift car, in summer heat, while eating a cone, let alone a sundae. Freddie's has custard...but it ain't nutin' compared to Andy's. This is super good, as it should. Go there...do it for lunch or after work or school. You will also sing Andy's praises. read more

This place is so so good. I go here like once a week their icecream is 10/10 When theres a long line you'll be better off getting out of the car, it goes by really slow. The workers are also rude most of the time read more

The people are onto something. We saw a crowd and figured we'd stop. The fam ordered concretes and it was a delightful treat.... mine was the James Brownie and while delicious, it was TOO much (and I got the small) I felt terrible dumping it, but it was simply too much for me. I will definitely SHARE next time! The 10- year old & hubs were big fans and insist we add this to our weekend rotation. The service is ok, but they're young teens, don't expect "above & beyond" - they sort of act like you're annoying them, but they do seem to hustle. read more

Please make the ice cream's correctly. Several times now this location fails to make their sundaes or new combinations as advertised. This evening wanted to try the cookie Casanova Sundae but instead I got a cookie dough concrete. Not a baked cookie in sight neither was it placed in a sundae cup. read more

I had a disappointing experience today. I spent 15 minutes being ignored at the window then another 10 minutes trying to order a simple choco-concrete like on the big poster. The clerk just stared blankly and mumbled the names of other selections. Every time I said; "small" he asked; "small, medium, or large?" It's as if today is his first day on earth. I gave up and walked away. This kid doesn't have any trace of the skills required to sell ice cream. If he was any dumber, he could be the VP of the US. read more

It was a beautiful thursday night and I decided to get icecream and end my night smoothly after a long days work, as one would do. I was greeted by a worker and as she told me the total i began to get my money ready. I was paying with exact cash and coins to be exact $7.88. I was counting my coins and the employee had to open her GD mouth and say "it's 3 quarters and 13 cents, come on" Excuse me? That was so rude and when i handed her the money she proceeds to say "there we go! math isn't hard" Could you be more rude!!! I have a mental disability when it comes to math. I was trying to work on my coin counting. I could not be more in shock! They need to be more aware and caring to costumers DO NOT EAT HERE!! #BOYCOTTANDYS!! read more

If you want great ice cream and kind staff, this is the place to go. It can get crowded at times, but service is decently fast. The last time I went I ordered a Johns Brownie and it was terrible. The "brownie" pieces tasted like mold or milk that had been left out too long. It was awful. Luckily, it's been a one time experience and can't drive me away from the heavenly ice cream! I recommend if you're looking for a large menu. It has something for everyone! read more

Shocked to see the smallest ice cream is $6. Will NOT go again. This is way too expensive per person.

This place is so cute, gives me Good Burger vibes. You can't go wrong with custard, especially not a drive through custard place with the sweetest workers. I got the Snow concrete with strawberry's and melted chocolate with some added Oreos. Every bite was covered in something and the small size was enough for two. Over all, I loved the cute looks of the place it is as stated previously very "nostalgic". Can't wait to come back and try a sundae! read more

Delicious! A welcome treat! Fresh and tasty! Best around! Fast service. Even though the drive through line was long, we were served quickly.
