Yum! They have so many ice cream options and they offered me samples which I took them up on! They have lots of mix in options and you can get as many mix ins as you want free which is great! They also have suggestions of flavors with mix ins, which I did. It was strawberry cheesecake- cheesecake ice cream with strawberries, graham cracker crumbs and caramel- SO good!! They also have shakes and sundaes. The servers were outgoing and attentive. I hate feeling rushed when it's your turn at an ice cream shop but I didn't feel rushed at all here. This location has that they serve ice cream and frozen yogurt. They have one frozen yogurt option; vanilla. They should consider removing that from the listing. No team member greeted us when we entered and they only had one other customer inside. Order: 1/2 butter pecan with pecan toppings and 1/2 coffee ice cream in a waffle bowl. We were expecting the pecans to be mixed with just the butter pecan ice cream but the guy proceeded to adding the coffee ice cream on top of the butter pecan and then the pecans on top of that. We noticed this and asked for him to not mix the two ice cream together. He offered to remake it but we were okay with just putting the ice cream as in into the waffle bowl. Surprisingly it was really good mixed together. The reason they gotta two star isn't because of the ice cream; it's the skill set of the staff and the remark/facial expression that were made. No one (there were three people working) and no one took two seconds to say hello or welcome to marble slab. The guy helping us wasn't able to answer some questions we had about the frozen yogurt and didn't bother to ask another employee. Then when I stated I wanted pecans added to my butter pecan ice cream he said, "I think there's already pecans in the ice cream, so you want me to add more? (Gave a confused look)." So I replied, "the ice cream is all white, are you sure there's pecans in there?" "It's butter pecan ice cream, why wouldn't there be pecans in there?" Because it doesn't look like there's any nuts in it and it doesn't matter if there's pecans in the ice cream or not, just give me extra pecans. Agreed to meet up with a friend for socially distanced patio lounging at Stonecrest. My friend opted for Chipotle, but I'm not a fan...so ran to this creamery instead. This used to be my fave ice creamery...prior to going bonkers over Jeni's. Anyway, I remembered just why I loved this creamery so much. First of all, LOVE this Stonecrest location...Ideal for enjoying some ice cream on the adjacent patio, complete with a fountain (and sometimes, even a band...during normal times). Secondly, love the unique mixing of toppings with the ice cream! Not certain, but think they started this trend...followed by Cold Stone Creamery? As far as I'm concerned, the graham crackers and chocolate sprinkles (and whipped cream?) on top of any flavor of ice cream spells D-E-E-Lish!! Must admit that their waffle cone isn't that great though... Think I'm spoiled by Jeni's freshly, homemade version. Overall, it tends to get pricey here, especially when you load it up with 2 or more toppings like I do...but to me, well worth it! As luck will have it, the weather somewhat shortened our Stonecrest patio dining adventure. But this used to be my regular hangout way back when (while my son was a toddler?), and brought back great memories. Just can't WAIT for this damn pandemic to be over, and for the humid weather to blow over as well so that we all can have truly great, carefree summer patio time! But back to the creamery itself lol. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Marble Slab on Rea Road is where I come when I want to treat myself, need a pick me up, want a snack, and any reason I can find to spend $6 on one cup of ice cream. I haven't been to marble slab in years Bc I didn't live close enough but now I do. I constantly make my own creation and it has generally consisted of the same things: I like coffee ice cream mixed with either sweet cream or newly with butter pecan. I used to get a waffle bowl until I realized it's a waste of money when I can just add waffle pieces in for free ‍. I also add extra pecans as they are salted and I like that mixed with sweet. I add Oreos or rarely brownie if Oreo isn't in. Then I add caramel sauce. I like to get it mixed up really good and BOOM, heaven awaits. This is some good stuff here. I am a member & I love my $5 rewards. I love the random days of BOGO offers. I never miss a deal. Never! The reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the multiple times they've gotten over. I really need to start paying attention and getting a receipt. So I always get a small or medium. ALWAYS. for one, I'm not even supposed to be eating ice cream due to intolerance. So I gotta pay attention . Anyway, sometimes the kids scoop too much and get all happy and say oh I'll just put in a large bowl for you so it doesn't spill. So I tell the person at register what size I got. And they put it to a large ANYWAY and then keep up charging me. Once I got a small and idk why she put in a large cup and boom got charged for that. If I ask for a small and you overdo it, charge it to you not me Bc I cannot control that. I didn't get ice cream scooping 101. So that needs to be communicated as this happens often. Stopped in this cute little ice cream shop after leaving eating lunch with a friend . I'm always looking for new ice cream parlor to visit . My friend mentioned she tried them out before so I took her word for it and skipped to my loo on the way over to some ice cream! The inside reminds you of a glitzy nail salon you walk in to fancy lighting etc which kind of threw me off because I was coming for ice cream lol ,but hey I'm all about creativity, glitz, n glam. THANK YOU Marble Slab for putting up with me and my friends a few weeks ago. Came in late on a Sunday night- around 9pm, so not long before closing- and the employees were so very friendly and patient with our loud and tipsy group as we debated our ice cream choices like life or death decisions. We were totally those people. I eventually settled on the Cookie Dough Sundae. Delish! And pretty to look at. My only gripe (and I'm being nitpickey here) is that I think it was just regular vanilla ice cream in the cup? Christopher was extremely polite and accommodating to our many topping requests, even pointing out that he picked the same toppings. The pricing is very reasonable, especially if you get a quart for the whole family to share. Also, the toppings are free as well as the waffle cones, which really distinguishes Marble Slab. It's like a homemade cold stone creamery. They have so many flavor options, all sorts of cones and a million toppings. The waffle cones were crunchy and crisp unlike some other ice cream places where they are soft and flimsy. The portions are HUGE so take that into consideration! My photo is a small cone. Pretty sweet spot. It's a a small shopping area with a scenic fountain outside. You get to sample flavors before making the purchase. You can mix in toppings and sauces. They have a wide variety of dipped or drizzled cones. They even sale the ice cream by the pint. It's clean and the staff are nice. I really enjoyed the Amaretto it was delicious. I got it with a waffle cup. I would skip the waffle cup in the future because waffle cup it was stale. I think it's a cool spot overall and I will be back. read more

I stopped in here to get some ice cream to go. I already knew what I wanted so it made it easier on the guy behind the counter. The ice cream I ended up getting was decent but this review is two stars because of the guy behind the counter and the customer service at this place. I walked in and saw no one working and then this guy comes out and just stares at me. I tell him what I want... wasn't given an option to try anything, it was more like "can you just go" attitude. The guy did NOT want to be bothered and seemed so annoyed to even be working. Oh and when I asked for a lid because my order was to go and it was pouring rain out, it was as if I asked him to run to the moon. Wasn't about to ask for a bag for fear he would drop to the ground and pitch a fit for doing his job. My husband and I went here on our date night. Service was very bad. They didn't have strawberries to mix into the ice cream and got an attitude when I questioned them about it. I wouldn't have gotten the flavor I got if I knew. Then they mixed my husbands ice cream and once she filled the cup she scraped up the rest of ice cream and toppings off the slab and threw them in the garbage without even offering it to him. My regular ice cream was $6.19 and I didn't even get what I wanted. My husbands was $8. Expensive ice cream! Delicious but with service that bad I would not recommend. The last Saturday of summer. I can almost feel my S.A.D coming on. I hate both fall & winter. I refuse to just quietly accept the arrival of Autumn next week, so headed straight to Marble Slab this afternoon in an act of defiance. This is hands down the best ice cream shop in Charlotte. Every few months or so they feature a new flavor, and today, RUM. Add to that the swanky modern minimal decor, and I am ready to kick back and ask for the remote. (Note: There is no TV.) The staff is always friendly. I become a silly 10yr old when it's time to pick my ingredients. Everything is great. Today was no different. The woman was masterly able to mix all 7 requested in and then scrape the slab clean, packing it all into the cup without leaving so much as a piece of raspberry for me to grieve about. We were excited to have ice cream so close to the place where we are staying. We ordered ice cream on Cones but they didn't have any only waffle cones. The girls seemed understaffed i felt bad. I thought it would be like cold stone because of all the delicious looking toppings but they dont give you a lot of ice cream and I was not impressed. The cotton candy was good. I've ate here on a couple of occasions, and the ice cream is all right. I've had their sundaes, and the more traditional ice cream waffle cone. The ice cream itself is quite nice --it's not too sweet, though maybe not sweet enough --hmm, that doesn't sound right, but it is what it is... I think it's somewhat overpriced for what you get, even compared to other locations similar to this. I'd say my favorite thing about this place has to be its location. You can grab your ice cream, then site around the beautiful outdoor area of Stonecrest while the kids run around burning off the sugar they just consumed. I will get ice cream from here again; however, that's simply because of it's great location. If there was a Cold Stone or Baskin-Robins next door, I'd probably go there first. read more
