Stonecrest Patio, next to Marble Slab
Rose E.

Agreed to meet up with a friend for socially distanced patio lounging at Stonecrest. My friend opted for Chipotle, but I'm not a fan...so ran to this creamery instead. This used to be my fave ice creamery...prior to going bonkers over Jeni's. Anyway, I remembered just why I loved this creamery so much. First of all, LOVE this Stonecrest location...Ideal for enjoying some ice cream on the adjacent patio, complete with a fountain (and sometimes, even a band...during normal times). Secondly, love the unique mixing of toppings with the ice cream! Not certain, but think they started this trend...followed by Cold Stone Creamery? As far as I'm concerned, the graham crackers and chocolate sprinkles (and whipped cream?) on top of any flavor of ice cream spells D-E-E-Lish!! Must admit that their waffle cone isn't that great though... Think I'm spoiled by Jeni's freshly, homemade version. Overall, it tends to get pricey here, especially when you load it up with 2 or more toppings like I do...but to me, well worth it! As luck will have it, the weather somewhat shortened our Stonecrest patio dining adventure. But this used to be my regular hangout way back when (while my son was a toddler?), and brought back great memories. Just can't WAIT for this damn pandemic to be over, and for the humid weather to blow over as well so that we all can have truly great, carefree summer patio time! But back to the creamery itself lol. Am so glad Marble Slab is still here (for a time, I thought they were gone for good?), and hope it survives the pandemic.

Just got a Peanut Butter Overload ice cream cake from here for a birthday celebration. It was a big hit with everyone! So yummy!! Highly recommend!

Coffee and butter pecan ice cream. With waffle pieces, extra pecans, oreo cookies, and caramel!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Marble Slab on Rea Road is where I come when I want to treat myself, need a pick me up, want a snack, and any reason I can find to spend $6 on one cup of ice cream. I haven't been to marble slab in years Bc I didn't live close enough but now I do. I constantly make my own creation and it has generally consisted of the same things: I like coffee ice cream mixed with either sweet cream or newly with butter pecan. I used to get a waffle bowl until I realized it's a waste of money when I can just add waffle pieces in for free ‍. I also add extra pecans as they are salted and I like that mixed with sweet. I add Oreos or rarely brownie if Oreo isn't in. Then I add caramel sauce. I like to get it mixed up really good and BOOM, heaven awaits. This is some good stuff here. I am a member & I love my $5 rewards. I love the random days of BOGO offers. I never miss a deal. Never! The reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the multiple times they've gotten over. I really need to start paying attention and getting a receipt. So I always get a small or medium. ALWAYS. for one, I'm not even supposed to be eating ice cream due to intolerance. So I gotta pay attention . Anyway, sometimes the kids scoop too much and get all happy and say oh I'll just put in a large bowl for you so it doesn't spill. So I tell the person at register what size I got. And they put it to a large ANYWAY and then keep up charging me. Once I got a small and idk why she put in a large cup and boom got charged for that. If I ask for a small and you overdo it, charge it to you not me Bc I cannot control that. I didn't get ice cream scooping 101. So that needs to be communicated as this happens often. The only reason it didn't happen last night was because the scooper told the cashier that she over scooped and to not charge me. Thank you! Otherwise ice cream is great!

Stopped in this cute little ice cream shop after leaving eating lunch with a friend . I'm always looking for new ice cream parlor to visit . My friend mentioned she tried them out before so I took her word for it and skipped to my loo on the way over to some ice cream! The inside reminds you of a glitzy nail salon you walk in to fancy lighting etc which kind of threw me off because I was coming for ice cream lol ,but hey I'm all about creativity, glitz, n glam. They are like any other ice cream establishment I have frequent that let's you sample a taste of any flavor you think u may want to try they even have cute pre dipped cones which was a nice touch . I enjoyed my time here I opted to eat my ice cream outside where the fountain was located with pink water falls for breast cancer month every body knows I live for a selfie moment !

THANK YOU Marble Slab for putting up with me and my friends a few weeks ago. Came in late on a Sunday night- around 9pm, so not long before closing- and the employees were so very friendly and patient with our loud and tipsy group as we debated our ice cream choices like life or death decisions. We were totally those people. I eventually settled on the Cookie Dough Sundae. Delish! And pretty to look at. My only gripe (and I'm being nitpickey here) is that I think it was just regular vanilla ice cream in the cup? As opposed to cookie dough, which I sorta expected given that it's a cookie dough sundae. Nonetheless, yummy and hit the spot!

Ice cream day !!

Came in for the first time on a hot hot day, ice cream was ok, melted as soon as it was placed on the cone. Nice variety of flavors and toppings. Overpriced in my opinion. They do offer ice cream for pets, my dogs loved it.

It's like a homemade cold stone creamery. They have so many flavor options, all sorts of cones and a million toppings. The waffle cones were crunchy and crisp unlike some other ice cream places where they are soft and flimsy. The portions are HUGE so take that into consideration! My photo is a small cone. The cakes in the ice box looked phenomenal. They also had adorable doggie ice creams. the restaurant is very clean, social distancing is enforced in line and there's indoor and outdoor seating. 10/10!

It's like a knock off cold stone, wasn't impressed. The flavors I chose didn't even taste like what they should be.

The shop is very small, they have a good selection of flavors, and it is all dairy, egg, and gluten free. You honestly would never know! It tasted exactly how ice cream should. Great mouth feel, rich, but not sweet. We tried the chocolate with cookies and Oreo pieces and the mint chip. Very very tasty. Again, if they did not tell you this was dairy free, you could not tell at all. They offer tastes, you can get one or two scoops or waffle cones, or ice cream sandwiches, and I think you can ask for sprinkles. They have a friendly staff behind the counter. They are also cashless, so be sure to have a credit card here. I would definitely come back for another flavor, I was really wowed by this ice cream. If you are in Camp North End, stop in for a scoop.

Jeni's continues to offer really fun flavors made well and even in non-dairy options (hooray for vegan flavors!) It's always a conundrum when there's more than 1 vegan-friendly flavor for me but they weren't busy so I got to try all of them. Sadly I was only able to narrow it down to two flavors - banana dream pudding (I'm usually not into banana but this is GOOD!) and peppermint patty. It was a weird combo but it worked! Thankfully they had regular sugar cones so that was vegan-friendly as well. The bf had a waffle cone and filled it with cookies in cream. A splendid time was had. Five Stars. Always.

No matter how many new places pop up, nothing ever compares to the quality and creativity they bring to every single scoop. You can always taste the difference. The flavors are always so thoughtfully done, from the classics to the more unique combinations they come out with season by season. It's the kind of place where you end up trying something new every time and somehow it becomes your new favorite. The South End location is such a great spot too. They have seating both inside and outside which makes it perfect whether you want to sit and enjoy a sunny day or just take a quick break while you're out walking around. It always feels like a little reset in the middle of the day. And the team there truly makes the experience. Every time I go in, they are so kind, patient, and so beyond helpful when you're deciding between flavors which is not easy to do. You can tell they actually care This place never disappoints and is one of those spots I keep coming back to again and again. Absolute favorite.

So which version are customers supposed to believe? Regardless of who is saying what, the outcome is the same. They lost several customers yesterday, and we will not be returning after this experience. After talking to a lawyer, they believe this is predatory enforcement, and we will file a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division and with the Better Business Bureau. Two Scoops Creamery on Central Avenue went from being one of our favorite spots to somewhere we will never return in less than a minute. We met up with a group of friends there today. Before grabbing ice cream, we briefly stopped into Sin City next door. As one of our friends was walking in, he noticed cars in the shared parking lot were actively being booted. We had been there maybe 15 minutes. Apparently, if you step into the neighboring business at all -- even if you're planning to purchase from Two Scoops immediately after -- they will boot your car and demand $275 to remove it. We spoke directly with the staff at Two Scoops and explained that we were simply meeting up and didn't realize stepping next door wasn't allowed. The response was essentially, "Too bad." There was no grace, no warning, no attempt at understanding -- just an immediate $275 penalty. It feels like an incredibly predatory and unethical practice, especially for loyal customers who intended to support the business. We didn't even stay for ice cream, and we won't be back.
