came back to Optimus hall with my daughter-in-law and her mom, who's also a good friend of mine. After enjoying some absolutely delicious Indian food, I was in the mood for something sweet and finally decided to give this place a try. I ordered the vegan lemon basil blackberry ice cream, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal. It was rich and creamy without being too heavy, and the flavors were unique but really well balanced. Definitely hit the spot.$ 5.50 or so for a small one scoop . They also had other interesting flavors like honey lavender.
They have banana pudding and that alone is worth going. So yummy. Prices are decent and I like the variety and the labels of allergens as well.
Great gelato ! The only let you sample two flavors before purchasing. I understand why but it left me wanting to come back to try other flavors. I ended up going with the birthday cake because the chai was waaaaaay too strong. I would like to have sampled the bananas foster. Maybe I'll get it next time I comeback !
Aesthetic: Traditional, upbeat gelato scoop shop vendor in Optimist Hall food hall. My Favorites: The butter pecan praline is an elite choice, I hope it's a regular flavor, but it may be a seasonal. Experience: I slept on this scoop shop for too long. Whenever I'm at Optimist, I go for all the savory options and forget to leave room for dessert. I finally tried this spot after years, and I loved the flavors we tried. The butter pecan praline and fresh mint were both incredibly delicious. The workers were sweet and let us try a bunch of flavors. I'm looking forward to the next time I get to enjoy this sweet spot.

The teens working were cool and friendly so customer service was on point. The four star rating is because of pricing. I know things are expensive and this is Ballantyne but I was pretty disappointed with the price of the very tiny cup that I got.

I don't think I would go out of my way for this in the future, but if I was nearby I'd probably try some of the other flavors and give them a second chance.

This is a great gelato shop located in the perfect area. You can get a small cup or a large one no matter what you're craving. Server was friendly and they have good prices. Plenty of outdoor seating and an abundance of parking. Walk to the concert, grab dinner at one of the many restaurants and come here for dessert. Since it's gelato, you don't feel the guilt. This is a perfect treat. Great for date night or spending time with family and or friends. Just come by!!
Wow, this ice cream was amazing! My boyfriend and I came by after a long day of work to treat ourselves and what a pleasant surprise. This was my first time trying Honeysuckle and I'll definitely be back! I ordered the salted caramel brownie and honey lavender! Both were so so good. My boyfriend said the salted caramel brownie was too sweet for him lol, but it was perfect for me. I loved the addition of the brownie, most spots just have salted caramel. It added a nice flavor to it, and it's brownies! lol Easy win. The honey lavender was so light and delicious. I will say the cone wasn't as tasty as a Jeni's cone, but still good nonetheless. Can't wait to go back here and try more flavors. Such a cute ice cream spot in Optimist Hall! They have lots of other options too, like shakes, ice cream sandwiches, floats and pints! Yummy!
My sister and I stopped at Optimist Hall and our sweet tooth got the best of us! :) We were instantly drawn to the cute decor of Honeysuckle and wanted to try some gelato. The staff shared that they could also turn our order into milkshakes, and we got to choose ANY two flavors to build our own shake!! It was so fun! I got a combo of Nutella and Oreo, and my sister got Nutella and Peanut Butter! The shakes were superrrr sweet but definitely perfect for a sweet treat on a warm spring day! Can't wait to go back and build more flavor combos!
Super cool gelato spot in a great area. Wanted just a single scoop but they were cool enough to allow us to do 2 half scoops which was great because we could get banana cream pie and birthday cake (both I recommend highly). Both were delicious and would get again and again!

Really loved this place the first few times I went, but the gelato was completely melted my most recent visit! It was still tasty, but I was very disappointed to see as soon as I received my gelato that it was all goop. Not sure if it's a freezing problem, etc. - hope they can fix this. read more

Finally got around to trying this one and it was good! Inside optimist hall, plenty of parking (free for 90min), and quick/easy all around. I arrived around 9pm on a Saturday, there was a short line of a few people waiting to get a late night sugar fix. I tried a couple flavors and went with a scoop of the salted caramel. It was just the right size for a little treat before bed. Cold, creamy and sweet. Would definitely come back to try other flavors! @azfitfoodfun read more

Great gelato ! The only let you sample two flavors before purchasing. I understand why but it left me wanting to come back to try other flavors. My go to for delicious icecream is typically JENI'S however whenever I visit Optmisy Hall my dessert of choice is Honeysuckle. Their season flavors are always fun to check out and sample. Their flavors do rotate frequently and are definitely unique. Pistachio is to die for. It's everything you'd joke for if you're a pistachio fan. I also loved their brown butter crunch. Both had just the right amount of creaminess and flavor. They offer more than just cups and cones of gelato. You can get shakes and they also have cookies if that's what you are craving! read more

This was my first time at Optimist Hall & Honeysuckle Gelato was definitely a sweet surprise. I was able to sample several flavors. I got the strawberry shortcake and birthday cake. Both were delicious. My husband got the passion fruit gelato. It was equally tasty. I also grabbed a snickerdoodle cookie during this visit. It was baked perfectly! The two staff members were friendly and patient. They also kept the line moving smoothly even though it was getting a little long. I'll definitely be back. read more
The gelato was delicious, the staff was friendly. I was there around closing, and the staff was very cleanly, they wiped down the all external facing surfaces, nice to see. While the gelato was tasty, the portions provided for the price paid was disappointing. The photo posted with this review is the "Good Day" sized portion (two scoops of one or two flavors), the "Better Day" (cutely named) is three scoops. read more

This place has my heart now because of the service I received. I walked up and saw strawberry shortcake Gelato and knew that was the flavor I was getting instantly. When I ordered, I only wanted one scoop because I had other places I wanted to try. The server informed me they scooped out the last of the strawberry shortcake and put it to the side but it equaled two scoops not one, they would give me the two scoops for the price of one. Not at all what I what expecting but greatly appreciated! The Gelato itself was delicious! The flavor what delicious and wasn't overpowering. I also tried a bite of the lavender honey and it was so refreshing! Highly recommend grabbed some Gelato while you're visiting optimist! read more

Short on time, so I'll make this short and sweet. Their Gelato is YUMMY!!! And very reasonably priced...which is something I can't say for much that's offered at Optimist Hall! I've tried them twice in the past, and I've never had a bad Gelato. Today, I got 2 scoops to share w/ my husband...Vanilla Bean and Brown Butter...and they were DEE-Lish! After feasting on various foods at Optimist Hall, this is really a perfect dessert (lightly decadent?) to end it all. So glad this vendor is here! read more

Very short and sweet, but this Gelato was on point!! I love that they have "non traditional" flavors and many options. I had the Salted Caramel Brownie and it was SOOOOO GOOOD! After lunch, I came here to get some gelato. I ordered a Better Day (2 scoops) with Ube and Peach Sorbet. The combination of the two is really good. Although the ube flavor isn't very strong, you can still taste a hint of ube in the flavoring. The peach was very sweet, but when I ate it with the ube, they combined well. They had a lot of other variety of flavors to try as well. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and will definitely come back for more. read more
"Bourbon", "Captain Crunch", and "Birthday Cake" were definitely some flavors I didn't see while living in Italy but for the Queen City they're right at home and might I add, delicious. Sampled the "Strawberry Shortcake", "Salted Carmel", and "Nutella" as well - all yummy! My personal favorite was the "Lemon, Basil, Blackberry" (all one flavor): the herbs were powerful and the perfect balance between the fruits made this flavor something you COULD find in southern Italy, especially in Positano or Sicily where lemons are life. Waffle cones for those who want & cute homemade cookies too... I recommend this place inside Optimist Hall for a sweet treat. The reason I only gave 3 stars was the texture of the gelato. It wasn't creamy and dreamy imho, it was more icy and light like a sorbet. I prob won't go back honestly but I can see it being a great summer stop when you want a frozen dessert. read more
When Va Da Vie closed in Park Road Shopping Center, I have never stopped sobbing. Until today. Honeysuckle Gelato rekindled my hope and re-ignited my soul for all things good--including gelato. While I was tempted to taste everything, I restrained myself and went for the Lemon Basil Blackberry. Yepper, I loved it. After your dumplings, or whatever else you munch on at Optimist Hall, top it off with a stop at Honeysuckle Gelato. While it's not like wandering near the foot of Mt Etna in Taormina, Sicily it's damn close, and a lot cheaper, too. "Giving 'em a whirl" is an absolute no-brainer. read more

The choices make it hard to not want to sample them all and with CoVid that isn't an option; understandably so. Even without the samples, you can't go wrong with any of the flavors. My son and I were just about to choose one scoop to share; which really translates to him deciding and mama just going along with it. However, the dark chocolate looked so decadent I just had add it to our order. So alas, one scoop of dark chocolate and one scoop of birthday cake made for a great combination! After our second visit to OH in two days, I was finally rewarded with a scoop at Honeysuckle. They have quite a unique list of flavors and the line can get pretty long with everyone asking for samples before deciding. I tried to stick with two samples and ultimately ordered the French Toast gelato for my cone. It was a little drippy (we all seemed to have that issue) but every bite was full of flavor. If I can find a way to save room after my next visit, I'll be happy to try more flavors from Honeysuckle! read more
