I stopped here before another event. Parked in the lot and walked around as the area has grown so much. Jordan took good care of me and talked about the sizes and my options. As soon as I saw Chai, I knew what I was getting. I got a small scoop with waffle bowl. The temperature had just dropped so I stood inside to enjoy it because it was super windy and cold. Loved the chai flavor and consistency. I would love to try it as a shake next time. I have a new spot when I am in the Ballantyne area. Perfect after dinner treat! I got the small and it was perfect size for wanting just a little something sweet after a full meal. They have lots of options to choose from and you can sample! The spoons were wood which I loved- not plastic. They were well staffed and although there was a line, it moved quickly. They are cashless we noticed. Also there is no where to sit and eat inside, but there are plenty of tables outside. My husband got the banana pudding gelato which he thought was amazing. I got the cinnamon roll which was good- really sweet! It reminded me more of ice cream than gelato but really good! read more

This is a relatively new gelato place in the Ballantyne area. They have a few flavors. I was excited to try, they will let you sample the flavors. When you eat, the gelato is missing a lot of the products for example, their flavor that is most popular salted caramel brownie did not have a lot of caramel or brownie in the batter. The red velvet cake could use more red velvet. It was nice that the gelato was made fresh but it needs more product for flavor and taste. They also have other dessert options, such as cookies. The prices are a little higher than the other gelato places nearby. And it appears that they do not offer any paper receipts. read more

Really cute shop in the Ballantyne area. Was here for a conference and wanted a dessert and it was walking distance from the hotel I was staying at. I ended up getting the mango gelato and it was super flavourful! The staff there are very friendly and you're able to try 3 flavours if you're curious on any of the flavours before making a decision. This place is located at the Bowl at Ballantyne. It was a small shop but they offer several flavors of gelato. I sampled the Bourbon, Cinnamon Roll and the Key-lime Pie. They were all pretty good, rich, and creamy. The Key-lime Pie was the best in my opinion. It was disappointing that they don't sell any NSA or Keto options but hopefully they will add a couple in the future. The service was fast and efficient and luckily they weren't crowded. How?! How does a creamy dream like this exist in real life and not (yet) have awards? If I could dream up a near perfect dessert, this place would be in my top 6. Let me explain... 1. Lemon bar gelato 10/10 The way it was not pucker sour, just the right balance of sweet and pieces of crust folded in just took me back. I've had a lot of ice creams that try to make this flavor and they nailed lemon bar in ice cream flavor to a T! 2. Strawberry shortcake 10/10 They got me saying "my, my, my, my, my, my, my, my..." the strawberry swirl was light, not too seed-y (is that a word?) and not too sweet where you take 5 bites and say I'm done. Having this paired with the lemon bar was such an incredible compliment to each other. 3. Cinnamon roll 10/10 The fact that they managed to have this incredible cinnamon swirl but it's not overpowered with the vanilla base. I even felt like I was eating a very light, creamy, cold frosting but in an ice cream texture. I thought this was going to be "the worst" of the 3 flavors i tried and truly i couldn't decide which to pick for my cup. Is this an accident that I just somehow tried 3 amazing flavors?! Traveling all around the US from SF, NY, LA, and many others, this place just hit all of the right notes. Wonderful sweetness-level balance, texture harmony, and taste exactly how it is described makes this the perfect ice cream. Van Leeuwen, Jeni's, Haagen Dazs, bị-rite creamery, Mitchell's, and dare I say salt & straw have not achieved what honeysuckle gelato has. This is my opinion. Try it for yourself. I would agree with another review that I would love to have a bit more of the "bits" that go into the ice cream like the crust of the lemon bar. However, it doesn't change how much I love this place and will now always make room for Honeysuckle ice cream when I'm in town. Service good. Ambiance is cute and the place is clean. Even if it didn't have these things who cares when you've found dessert perfection? *EDIT* Don't judge me. I convinced myself that I picked perfect flavors and went back 2 hours later to sample others. 1. Salted Caramel Brownie 7/10 I've been told this is one of their top flavors and for folks with a heavy sweet tooth, this decadence is made for you. Brownie bits were well done and I prefer softer brownies. 2. Honey lavender 10/10 This flavor from other shops can have a very lavender forward taste that feels like perfume lingering in your mouth. It was just the right amount of floral towards the end as a finisher. It made me contemplate asking for another sample but I resisted. 3. Butter pecan praline 9/10 I blame the server that he sampled a beautifully large pecan piece to try but the little spoon could only hold so much in one bite. It was quite sweet but I imagine getting a cup with a better balance of vanilla to pecan ratio. 4. Early grey 5/10 I loooove earl grey tea, earl grey boba, earl grey flavored desserts. This was the only flavor that had a much more pronounced early grey taste. Not a flavor that shines like the others. My review still stands as a phenomenal gelato that I would compare to the creaminess of gelato I had in Barcelona but the textural contrast I love from American ice cream shops. Fabulous gelato and great service! We visited on a weekend and it was busy but they were very nice and we tried the birthday cake gelato, non dairy chocolate cake, and the strawberry lemonade slushy. Yummy all around! Parking is busy at the bowl but I loved the relaxing green nearby and we will be back. read more
