I was visiting Jersey and was drawn to this bakery with its big red and white sign. I decided to give it a try and I am glad that I did! They had a nicee variety of pastries and quite a bit of gourmet cookies sold by the pound. The priced of the items were decent too, about $3-$7 per item. The staff was knowledgeable of what the pastries were and what was in them. There is a parking lot and I do not believe I noticed any indoor or outdoor dining, just to go. The quality of my pastries was ammmaaazziinnggg. I wish I lived nearby so that I could back sooner than later! They are creative with their sweet treats and generous with their pricing. Stopped for some crumb cake and the young lady must have misunderstood me and was telling me they only have apple crumb cake. I found the crumb cake in another case, so it's all good. Looks fabulous cant wait to dig in to it! Also picked up the kiddo a black and white...shes going to love it! My first time here, and this place is super clean, bright and inviting. Lots of baked goods on display. I didn't see any brownie bars but i could have missed them. Will definitely stop in on my next trip back to Jersey. Once known as an ice cream barn before covid, this place is now converted to an Italian Bakery. Like many bakeries they offer all the different types of cookies and pastries. Selections vary but are always amazing eye candy. Taste is the real standout of these bakeries. We purchased 8 different types of cookies. While all were good, there was no single standout. Flavors are nice but they could add more essence to enhance the taste - it can't be all about the look. The service was great and the look of the store are very nice. My family and I stopped by here after going to Sam's. It's super cute, very inviting, and super clean! The employees were super nice and even gave my kids cookies with no charge! I ended up getting a bundle of Italian cookies and the hubs got a gelato. The cookies all tasted great. Wish there was more in the plate. The food and customer service experience deserves a 0 star review. The ladies behind the counter are rude and annoyed when you come in the store. The photo attached is what they think a filled donut should look like, clearly it looks disgusting. The filling inside smelled atrocious because it was RAW, and genuinely made the person who had it SICK after having a bite. When Bruno's bakery was called about this, they gave me a run around and wouldn't let me speak to someone on this matter. So they're getting this review because they don't care about their products or their customers. They're finally open! The space has been unoccupied for so long I had given up hope. I came in looking for breakfast pastries--and they have so much. Their croissants didn't look quite laminated so I opted for a donut and a s...something-telle. The donut was filled with raspberry jam, which was wonderful, but the donut was a bit chewier than I expected. The other pastry was very pretty but a bit stodgier than other ones I've had in the past. I also got an Italian style cheesecake to share. It wasn't very sweet, which was great but it was a bit dry. They even have a gelato shop next to the bakery. You can preorder cakes and other desserts and get them customized. The staff is very helpful and are great at guiding any questions you may have. The one thing that this place is missing is somewhere to sit. It is definitely a grab and go bakery, but if they offered some coffee and a next place to sit, it would bring it up to the next level! Decided to try this delicious bakery for a cake we needed wow was it ever fantastic. We had asked for a checkerboard style cake the staff was right on it and willing to help. The end result was sheer perfection and received a lot of ohhh and ahhh and the taste was beyond delicious. Cake was moist and delicious and so beautiful with the sides exposing the checkerboard pattern! This is not a bakery that makes me think back to the traditional Italian bakery items! Nothing like my grandma from Italy would make. We have ordered multiple items from Cakes to the pistachio cream puffs to cannoli's. We are all foodies and unfortunately NOTHING impressed us. Most of the pastries we tried were disappointing! Never mind the prices we paid. Just horrible! The cannoli's had the fruit filling like you find in a fruit cake! Who does that?? We definitely did not expect that. The pistachio pastry cream puff, I couldn't get past the first bite. No where did I taste any pistachio and I love Pistachio! :( The cake although expensive was very disappointing and dry. So much for the "hype" and should have posted this couple months ago. Oh well, go to La Dolce if you want TRADITIONAL bakery items. Tried the gelato today. My pistachio had zero flavor and crappy consistency- cookie was feh. It wasn't worth eating. My wife's chocolate gelato had some flavor, but she threw 1/2 of it out as she said it wasn't worth eating. So sad. We also bought bakery items but haven't tried it yet. Hopefully the quality will be better than the gelato. Don't waste your money and calories on the gelato. The bakery was on channel 12 last week and my cannoli expectations were raised, hopefully we won't be disappointed. So the cannoli was good but too sweet. The dried orange peel was a nice touch. I would probably not return for the cannoli and obviously never return for the gelato. read more

I went to Brunos early in the day. There was a sign on the register that informed me that if I decide to use a credit card, I would be charged an additional 3% "fee". Reluctantly, I decided to pay cash. I presented my large bill to the cashier, and she informed me that she does not have enough cash in the register to give me change. This forced me to use my credit card which then charged me the 3% fee! What a scam! It is bad enough that the cake is $35! Now I get penalized with a 3% credit card penalty. What was even more insane was that there is not only a "Tip-Jar" on the counter, but also a "Tip" line on the credit card receipt. Here is a question, if the business is charging customers for the credit card processing, which is NOT 3% for Visa or Mastercard, it is 1.5%, why am I paying you an additional 1.5%? How about you stop penalizing customers for patronizing your business. If you insist on doing that, at lease make the price of your cakes reasonable. Oh, almost forgot, the cake looked better than it tasted. read more

I was there to purchase some pastries and decided to pickup a cake for Father's Day since I was having guess over. The pastries that I purchased was the best and the price was very reasonable. Cheese danish and the pastry with strawberries topping was so delicious and fresh out of the oven. I love that it was buttery and crispy when I took a bite into it. It is the best I ever had in New Jersey. To make the long story short. I decided to purchased a pistachio cake. I did not know that it had to be kept in the freezer. So when I cut into it, everything was oozing out. I was so embarrassed in front of my husband and guess so I went to the store on the next day to figure out why? A nice gentleman in the store explained to me that it was suppose to be kept in freezer because it had gelato in it. It was a blunder on my part for not putting it in the freezer. He was so nice to offer me another cake even though he did not have to. He demonstrated empathy and great customer service for my screw up. My husband was really happy and it made it up to him for Father's Day when I explained to him what happen. I normally don't do reviews but I really had to for the excellent customer service that was shown by the gentleman.
