My first experience wasn't great here but the owner reached out and asked if she can remake the cupcakes for me. She let me taste the Oreo and cannoli icing in store and it was night and day from what I had my first time. The cupcakes were so delicious. The icing is fluffy and the cake is dense. The red velvet cupcake has raspberry preserves in it which is such a nice touch. The Saturday I came in was just a bad batch, and the actual cupcakes are delicious. Happily will be ordering cakes from here! Especially since the pricing is so reasonable for cakes. If you prefer brownies over cake, their iced brownies are massive and addicting. Krystina and her team were a pleasure to work with for our Nov. 11, 2017 wedding. Our venue was strictly kosher, and did not offer wedding cakes through their in-house caterer, but it was our wedding, and we just couldn't give up the idea of cutting into a big, beautiful, tiered cake. Enter Fancy Cakes! Krystina went out of her way to accommodate a complimentary cake tasting at a location near us, and then provided a second round of tasting for a few additional flavors we were interested in trying. There were a number of yummy flavor options available, and we were able to select two different cake/filling combinations for our three-tiered cake. She did a really lovely job of bringing our vision to life with a simple, three-tiered square cake, with edible succulents and branches to match our floral decor. And most importantly, we've heard not-so-great things about pareve (dairy-free) cakes in general, but hers was delish! She coordinated drop off with our venue manager, and everything was stress-free and taken care of on our big day. The cake looked very nice but it was tasteless dry and old and it wasn't worth the money we paid.

I ordered cupcakes, cake pops, favor cookies and a custom two tiered cake for my sister's bridal shower. All Harry Potter themed and with specific designs in mind that I sent to the baker and she printed to add to the order. I will start with what was good: the cookies and cupcakes looked perfect! However, the cake was extremely less detailed than what I asked for and the castle was completely different than the design we discussed. In the consultation when I asked if she could do the bottom two tiers of a design she looked up the exact mold for the castle and said bc it was a mold she did not need to charge extra. Therefore, I never thought that would change at all! We even discussed a flower detail that is in the photo and I indicated I wanted it. The cake had no flower detail at all. The snitch cake pops l showed her, she said she could make were completely different than what I received. In fact the design I received was one that caused me to not hire a different shop. I could make that on my own and would not have purchased them from her if I knew that was what I was receiving. There was no point in complaining because she can't make new cake pops or a cake day of the shower. I will say this as a positive for customer service: when we realized she did not make any gluten free cupcakes or cake pops as ordered, she did return with some gluten free cupcakes with normal frosting. I wish I could add photos to show the disparity between what I ordered and what I received for the cake and cake pops. I will not be purchasing a cake from here again. It's a shame because the taste was very good. read more
