This boutique pleasantly surprised me. I have worked as a Personal Assistant in NYC for 12 years, and while shopping (often) for my principals, have found that in many cases, the more luxurious the product, the less luxurious the service. For example, many times a high-end boutique will be staffed with apathetic, unhelpful, associates who fall over themselves to help (sell) when the boss is there, yet are rude to a PA sent later to exchange a size etc, not realizing that the PA is a direct extension of their favorite kind of customer.
The above scenario was NOT my experience at Brunello Cucinelli, however. Recently my boss had a problem with a cashmere sweater made by this label. I took it to the store, not knowing that his wife had purchased it at a different location. When the manager, Bradford, found this in researching purchase history, I assumed I would need to pursue another route to repair the sweater. Instead, he was able to have the garment repaired onsite, immediately, as I waited (10 short minutes). He also gave me helpful information in terms of preventing the issue from happening again in the future, which I shared with my boss. This, in my opinion, is refreshingly outstanding service, and shows that this company cares about overall standards, not just for their stunning apparel (which it certainly is), but also for their reputation in terms of customer experience. read more
