After 6 weeks of trying to resolve the situation, hours of phone calls, and a rotating door of employees who did not follow up or fulfill their promises, we finally got a refund. Well it's not a mystery those things would shrink like a mf but just buy a size up and it was good money!! I strongly dislike the feel of the new Lux Touch Ts so I came in here yesterday to make some returns and see what I could come up on. I entered and thought I had just walked into a Restoration hardware. I had no idea BR Home was a thing, but this store is beautiful. Fairplay to them. After I returned my faux Luxe Touches, I forged on through the furniture section that my $123 gift card wouldn't make a dent in and made it to the mens section upstairs. After reminiscing on the past glory of my Luxe Touch Ts and scanning the sale rack for any remnants of them, I stumbled upon the most beautiful lightweight pin striped suit jacket I have ever seen. It's one of those ones that you see in Italy or in a custom tailor store in Tribeca that cost over a rack. One of those ones you say "When I make it I'mma get that..." I was determined not to spend over my $123, but this jacket clocked in at $350. As I was licking my wounds and picturing myself looking BEAST in the jacket, a BR employee, Alejandro, came down like an Angel from the heavens to try and help get the price down as much as possible. He could see in my eyes how much I wanted it. If I signed up for the rewards it would be 20% off and with the promotion they're running it was another 25% off yadda yadda yadda. But MAN did that price come down. I still came out of pocket like $70 more than I said I would but y'all know how that goes ahahha. He also helped me pick the sizing, and seemed genuinely happy to be helping me only 30 minutes from close which I know is annoying as all hell. Shoutout to Alejandro man. It's experiences like this that made me start writing these reviews in the first place. I had no intention of reviewing a Banana Republic store yesterday, but Alejandro forced my hand. I'm glad this one is still around since it's the most convenient location and most central at Rockefeller Center, compared to the other 4 stores (UES, Chelsea market, SoHo and W.Village). Their product styling is generally considered more boho chic apparel, accessories and home goods + furniture, I'd call it maybe more romantic and whimsical, less preppy and buttoned up. They're owned by Urban Outfitters which also owns Free People so the adjacencies between the aesthetics, products and target consumers make sense. They're geared toward the mid 20s to mid-40s age range, and prices tend to be on the mid to higher side for this type of product. Not to level of high-end designer but generally more than your mid-range mall retailers. In the countless number of times I've visited, staff here usually are cordial. There's a main level which has the main entrance from street-side, new seasonal collections, accessories and the checkout/register area towards the back of the store. Then there's a basement level which is accessible from with Rockefeller Center. The fitting rooms and home goods section are downstairs.

I had some free time and I decided to get coffee and window shop around Bleecker st. I took a peek inside and found casual and yet sophisticated clothing. Not too baggy and not that slim fit cut that no one could possibly wear. What impressed me mostly was the quality and feel of the clothing. From the buttons to the stitching, it's just a well made product. Over the years, I have purchased a beautiful fall jacket, a functional cardigan sweater and the most comfortable flannels. Also, I love their sweatshirts! Not being too baggy, I like that I can layer the look without being too bulky. I signed up for their email notifications, they have the best sales! Both online as well as in the store, typically it's a 35% discount. What brings me to Bleecker st, I ordered Japanese Selvedge Jeans at an incredible price. They came to my home, I tried them on and loved the feel of the material. The back pockets looked off, it wasn't the right fit. I called the customer service number and was told either I can send the jeans back with a prepaid shipping label or simply return them to the store. Easy Peasy! The Grayers founder has an interesting background. He worked at Ralph Lauren for over 10 years and decided to make his own line inspired by European and Japanese vintage clothing. The final result is handsome and classic garments using unique fabrics. Total fan. If you can't get to Bleecker St, you can shop online. Cheers!
