This is such a great Athleta! The floorplan is super open and the sale section is huge. It was easy to browse and the sales people were helpful, but not pushy at all. I had to make an exchange for a different size. I looked around a bit and found the pants I wanted in the sales section! The cashier was super helpful in giving me a refund for my online order, since the pants are cheaper now than when I bought them. Then, she did a separate transaction for the new pants and explained the whole process to me. I was very happy with my shopping experience and will definitely be back! read more

Store has horrible selection & promotions are misleading. They'll "offer" to trade in older pair of athleta pants for a new pair but will have absolutely minimal inventory which would never happen otherwise when there is plenty of merchandise in the store. Popped in for a quick return of an online purchase. My experience was wonderful. I browsed around and ended up doing an exchange. They no longer add paper packing slips, and have all their invoices online with a bar code on the shipping package, which they then scan and it pops up on their iPad. Also, they do not print receipts, as they are emailed to you to help reduce waste. The woman who helped me behind the counter was very helpful, and friendly. I am one of those mythical friends who enjoys getting clothing, including socks, for Christmas. Unfortunately, I am one of those people whose sizing is rather difficult to shop for. Before I digress, on this visit to Athleta I was returning a gift that did not fit. I didn't have the ample time I needed to try on a bunch of things so I decided to get something small (a headband) and get store credit to deal with later. Everyone seemed very disinterested with helping me, kind of hurt my feelings. They sent me in three different sections of the store that didn't even seem likely to have headbands. Still giving the benefit of the doubt, for the fourth time I asked the cashier where the headbands were and she proceeded to direct me to a rack of headbands...that were kids sized. I asked her if they were adult sized to disprove my doubt and she misleadingly said "yes." This sounds like a frivolous tale of woe, but it was such a waste of my time. Didn't get what I wanted out of the visit, felt so much frustration which could have been avoided. I'd rather have been told their headbands were sold out than be told to look downstairs and have the attendant look at me like I was insane to think there was headbands down there. From this day, I'll leave my headband shopping to online thank you ! read more

Call me a snob but I like Lululemon better. I have purchased Athlete clothing on several occasions and am pretty "eh" about them. They don't wash especially well - significant fading after a few washes. The fit is so so and they look like Lulu knock-offs - at almost the same price! This store is set up nicely and the staff is very friendly but I simply don't like their clothing. It is pricey GAP body clothes. read more

The service is always great whenever I come here.... aside from the stuff being price... I found a really nice vest but cashier told me that it was a 2 in 1 jacket and the vest was missing a piece. I was able to order the item in the store. If you order an item in store (on the computer), it is FREE SHIPPING. :D -Athleta have free studio classes everyday. You can download the app Mindbody to sign up for the classes. The mats are provided by Athleta and any additional instruments are provided by the instructor, be sure to bring your own lock for the lockers. Also, bring a water bottle, there's water but no cups. Honestly, my shopping experience yesterday has been the highlight of my COVID days! Yesterday, I needed a "pick me up" so I decided to get some cozy, cute workout attire at Athleta. I had the best time shopping there, all the staff are knowledgeable and very accommodating! I was fortunate to have Kim as my salesperson. I'm tall with a smaller top and big bottom. I accompanied my mom here. Imagine - a shorter Paki lady around age 60 wearing a hijab. Meanwhile, the customers here seem to be white women around age 20-40. I felt really out of place as the only male in the store and I wanted OUT as soon as I stepped IN. I just wanted to disappear into the background but I didn't see any place to sit and be out of the way. My mom described to me in detail how softly the fitting room clerk spoke to her, and called her by her name, and how much she liked her. So despite the demographic difference, the staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming. All the clothing appears to be top notch yoga/fitness gear and a selection of nice raincoats or something. Nothing appeared to be on sale but I suppose that whatever you buy here will fit the bill. As I was standing around, I also noticed they have their own workout studio for all manner of yoga/core/etc. I imagine this store would complement very well any woman inclined towards taking care of her body and interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Overall, if I were a woman i'd want to shop here. Even if you don't buy anything you can perhaps come here to exercise or acquire inspiration towards a healthier lifestyle. read more

I went with my mom who has a pic line just after reverse shoulder surgery. She needed pants with a draw string. I know... not your usual customer. DW and Andres were wonderful. They fitted her, helped up, allowed her to sit down in the store. We bought several items. I was so impressed with both of their help. Over and beyond. This was the Athleta in Hudson Yards. I came here for gentle yoga class on a Wednesday night. The studio in the basement was very clean with good facilities and rooms. It was wellness week, there were a few different fitness/healthcare events at the stores. It was a relaxing experience to have a yoga class and hang out there. read more

About a month and a half ago, I came into this Athleta location looking to get some gifts for my girlfriend and sister. I was helped by an employee, Emily, and I wanted to make sure she got the commendations she deserved! She was incredibly personable and genuine, while being effective and beyond helpful at the same time. I left with more purchases than I expected to buy, and I attribute that entirely to her salesmanship. Once upon a time Athleta considered it important to offer free classes which were packed with potential customers and made Athleta seem really community-minded. Suddenly, not one of the classes is free and since there is no reason to visit that store -- not convenient to where we live, there are others -- both Athleta and other stores -- we never go there anymore. Why on earth did they go from all to nothing ? Not a good marketing strategy one would think.... The store is beautiful, the studio perfect for classes, but the clothes are expensive, expensive enough, it would seem to support free classes....at least some free classes. read more

Lovely, big new store in a central location. I walked in today and was greeted by a bark thins vendor who gave me a free bag of bark thins, followed be an Athleta employee who was very sweet and friendly. On my way out the door I wid bid goodbye by a green mustache vendor who offered me samples and gace me a free bottle of their delicious berry juice to take home. P.s. Parking is easy after 6 pm for those who drive. read more

Thank you for opening this location Athleta. For those of us who aren't located near the UES location appreciate it! I fell in love. The customer service is fantastic. Friendly, helpful and I soon had a massive (neatly organized) pile of workout clothes to try-on. I do love their Chat tights and their revelation tights for both yoga and spinning. Several of their neon tops are now part of my workout wardrobe rotation. The dressing rooms are very big and spacious and I'm most definitely going to be a regular customer! read more

Cute workout gear and friendly staff every time I've visited. And I've been here maybe 6 times in last 2 months. (I'm an advocate of browsing to perfect item before handing my hard earned cash, ok?) There's a huuuuge rack of sale items as you head into the fitting rooms. All of the items are in great shape, and never look "last season". Every purchase I've made (shirt, leggings, and a bra) has felt higher quality than anything you get for fraction of a price at, say, Old Navy. So it'll withstand the test of time n' swear, And their stuff is CUTE. I feel confident wearing it out in public and while working out. Maybe it even makes me .5% faster. This was my first time coming to the Athleta studio and let me tell you, it was pretty amazing! The staff was amazing, the studio was super clean, they had a filtered water fountain, granola bars on the way out, the studio is equipped with workout material which is amazing that you don't have to work around with a yoga mat or any other workout accessories. The studio wasn't packed, although i did go on a Tuesday around 1pm. Plus the workout was amazing!!!!! I will definitely be going back! read more

This place rules. Love their selection, customer service and their prices! I was looking for something comparable to Lulu but without the hefty price tag and this place has got it! Quality athletic apparel with lots of selections of colors and styles. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. They ask you about what type of training you do and try to match you up with appropriate apparel. I found a sweet pair of Chatturanga pants which feel and look awesome! I also love their professional perk card which gives me 30% off every purchase since I'm a yoga teacher! Super dope! So I saved a ton of money! Will definitely come back! No sale items. Their training pants have pockets and zippers and feel bulky. Material could be softer. I'm always on the quest for better running gear and this place just doesn't meet the mark. I love Athelta's clothes for both working out and everyday life, and their Fifth Avenue store is one of my favorites. They offer a large assortment of things and always have a big sale section, clean and well lit dressing rooms, and a bathroom for customers (always a perk in NYC). I love the clothes but management and most employees are discriminators. When I first got there, I was buying a lot of clothes and they basically thought I was scamming. They thought the debit card I was using never had my name on it. They always questioned me where I'm getting my money from. Then when I'm looking to get more hours they tell me there's no hours. But of course you go to ask the people that barely be at work and gives away their shifts a lot get the better shifts. I also use to give ideas on how to make the work place better and they called me very "opinionated". When there is an issue they don't let me tell my story they just cut me off because they just want the stuff done their way. Employees that are not managers talk to you like they are. When looking to be apart of their team they like kind of laugh and smile in your face and say they'll get back to you. They also do a whole lot for their favorites. Their communication sucks! Whatever manager you talk to, they tell other managers and twist your story. There was only one manager that I appreciated and her name was Vida. She has made my experience a little better then it was for the time of her being there. I also had an experience where the studio manager dog bit me and he was gone for a couple of months. When he came back a couple of months later, he was roaming the store by hisself. He came upstairs as soon as I walked into the building. While walking to the back of the store, he almost charged at me. If it wasn't for the customers grabbing him and petting him I would've been attacked. I had to come to work scared because I didn't know whether or not he was there. I had to always be cautious when coming to work which made me not want to go at all. Overall, I was just being mistreated there and it made me feel like I was nothing. I shouldn't have to feel like that in my work place. I hope that others that feel the same speak up cause the aura in that place is very atrocious. They need a whole new management staff. They don't train no one in there for nothing and when it's time to work they expect people to know everything. read more

LOVE this place! They have amazing pieces for dance, yoga and everyday life. I would like one of EVERYTHING in the store! I was super impressed with their customer service - extremely accommodating while remaining laid back and not at all pushy. They even asked me why/when I'd be wearing my purchase(s) and when I told them I was a dance teacher, they immediately signed me up for their professional perk card which gives me 30% off every purchase. This store is probably the most welcoming place I have ever experienced. They greet you at the door and try to help you but only if you want it. There is no sales pressure. The clothes are amazingly comfortable and high quality, quite durable. These take you from "barre" to boardroom to the regular bar at the end of the day. Even better, there is a fabulous exercise studio downstairs with a great communal working space. You can either join, buy a class or take a class making a donation to charity. The classes are a broad range of fitness styles, studio is quite clean, new safe equipment and inspiring instructors. I am addicted! read more

The studio is beautiful and new and they offer changing rooms and lockers to store your stuff. It's best to sign up for classes through the Mind Body App directly. It's also great to shop around before classes and they always have new apparel rotating in. Defnitely recommend for those interested in affordable fitness in the city. read more

Great customer service and yoga pants! It was super easy to exchange some yoga pants I received as a gift for a new size, and the staff was very, very helpful when I was trying to find some tank tops. The sales staff calls your name while you're in the fitting room to see if you need different sizes, which is a great service. I also tried on a pair of fleece-lined leggings they had hanging in the dressing room (marketing them with a quote from a satisfied customer). Ended up buying these and love them. Athleta could be a hit or miss. They definitely have more styles and inventory in comparison to Lululemon but something about them doesn't seem to have the same attractiveness as Lululemon. I always end up going to their sale rack because their stuff are just as pricey as Lululemon. Occasionally, you will find some decent tops and pants. But most of the sizes in the sale section are either medium or large. However, I do enjoy going to their free fitness events that they sponsor such as the Times Sq Yoga Summer Solstice and Bryant Park Yoga. The instructors they hire really good compare to other yoga studios I've been to. As of last weekend, they had a grand opening party for their new fitness studio located in the lower level, which was a lot of fun. They had free classes, braid bar, make-up, and facials and of course, goodie bags. Throughout the month of December, they are also offering free classes from yoga to barre classes in the new studio for people to try out. Overall, the new studio is decent. They have lockers for you to put stuff in and changing areas. My only issue is that the studio room itself feels a bit small. They also have this pillar in the middle the room that is sort of in the way and blocks the flow of the room. If they keep the capacity of the classes to a minimum, then it shouldn't be too bad. Hit this place up for their free classes while you can before they start charging you. read more

I will not be ordering online from Athleta again. Their customer service is terrible. I recently misplaced an order, and called within 1 hour of my order being placed to cancel. They assured me that a cancellation request was put in. Fast forward a month later, and the charge shows up on my credit card. I email and speak to an Athleta rep on the phone, to be told that my order was received. That's news to me. I never received the order and was charged for it. When I called Athleta to inform they of the situation, they were not sympathetic. I will not be ordering from Athleta again and will be telling others about my experience. read more

I have been a big fan of Athleta ever since I moved to NY but this is by far my favorite location as it has the beautiful designated fitness studio below the store. I have attended so many classes here while recovering from an injury and have been able to cross train my entire body and get stronger where I was injured. The staff is always friendly and when you come a lot, you get to know everyone on a first name basis and it seems like the staff makes an effort to know your name too. There is a variety of classes but Kiva's La Blast and Bunsout Ballet and Ana's Cheer class are my faves. I'm partial, as I love to dance, but the class are great for people without a dance background that are looking to try something new and don't mind getting sweaty. The clothes I've purchased have been a good fit and held up, so I'm a happy camper all around. read more
