    Blackened Salmon BLT
    Bridgette M. K.

My best friend and I could not decide on what we wanted so we bought the Salmon BLT with sweet potato fries and the Soul Food Burrito and split both. The food was awesome!!! The salmon was tasty and I'm not a big salmon eater. I've acquired a taste for it for health reasons. I put some blue cheese on my fries because ketchup doesn't go with sweet potatoes, I've determined. Our food was neatly packaged and still hot when we received it through delivery. It was delivered within a timely manner, as well. I'm sure that we'll order again for dinner during our hangout fun!!

Let me start this off by saying the containers of hot sauce in both of my containers of food when I opened it they both had spilled out . I don't know if someone did not put on the tops correctly but unacceptable especially for the chicken and waffles the hot sauces can easily be put in the bag it does not have to be in the container because things like this happen. The waffles were not done not edible at all ,nothing to do with the hot sauce they just were not cooked properly the chicken 10 out of 10 The soul burrito 7/10 the catfish was the best part ,Mac didn't have a taste and there was hardly any greens inside of it also lacked flavor . It would also be nice if there was some type of sauce that came with it outside of the hot sauce Customer service was good prices are decent

I was at the doctor, and decided to get something to eat. This place didn't disappoint it was very unique, very much a hole in the wall. I ordered the brisket, mac and cheese and greens burrito. The place is small but luckily they have one table because that thing was not making it home, it looked and smelled amazing and was it good. I am definitely coming back to try more variations on the burritos and all the other food. I haven't made recommendations on yelp in a while, because I haven't been this impressed in quite a while. After covid so much stuff was expensive and mediocre not bruchaholics. Thanks for amazing food. The service was super friendly and very fast.

Have you wondered where you can get Food Network's critically acclaimed Soul-Food burrito? Stop by the new location in DeSoto to get your hands on it. Back and better than ever, all you have to do is order online and then pick it up at the window to enjoy wherever you'd like. There's no place to sit down and eat yet, but the staff is still friendly and accommodating if you have any wait for your food. There's a small waiting area inside. The food is still good, the menu is still expanding, and the buzz is still growing. Enjoy.

10/10 and I'm not lying!!! I'm a harsh critic when it comes to food and to be completely honest I do enjoy soul food but, it's not my favorite. HOWEVER, THIS PLACE hits different y'all!!! My husband and I have wanted to try this food for a while and finally got the opportunity. I got the cat fish plate and it was divine. It's perfectly seasoned and slightly crispy and came with a bed of seasoned fries. We also got the 2 soul food burritos - 1 catfish and the other was chicken. The filling is a creamy Mac n cheese with collard greens and then the meat - this blew my mind! I liked it better than the cat fish and I thoroughly enjoyed that! I can honestly say I was a pleasant surprised. Not to mention, both of the cashiers were very friendly and gave honest opinions about what their favorite dishes were. This is a small place and it's truly for pick up not a place to sit down, so keep that in mind. I definitely plan to come back and try everything on the menu! Shrimp and grits next :)

I thought I was finding a hidden gem but I was wrong. When I ordered the cashier told me my food would be ready in approximately 10 seconds... the amount of time that was stated did throw me off yet I love to try new places. When I opened my plate it didn't look like picture. My tortilla was red and soggy and it definitely wasn't fresh! Along with that, I found a large bone found in the burrito...Unfortunately this will be the first and last time they see me!

You may have seen Keith Lee review this place and rave about it, but be assured that this place lives up to the hype. Located in Desoto, TX in an indescript strip center, the food here is anything but indescript. I ordered the catfish, fries, the sweet potato cobbler. The catfish was super flavorful and fresh, with delicious homemade tarter sauce, but the cobbler, WOW, it was literally one of the BEST things I have EVER eaten. And ive eaten at a 3 star Michelin Restaurant. If you are in Desoto, do yourself a favor and stop by and try this out for yourself.

The Soul Food burrito wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything amazing. I was a bit disappointed, it tasted like some stuffing was in it, and I didn't expect that. The greens also didn't have much flavor. The catfish was good, though. The brisket Mac & cheese was the best thing there; it was full of flavor. The portion here is good for the price; nothing was small. The service wasn't amazing, but not bad. I'm not sure if their air was out, but it was really hot and loud, so you had to yell to talk to your friends. We were in and out in under 30 minutes.

Nice concept and Good Food! Looking for a Soul Food Fix? Checkout Brunchaholic! No frills, straight to the point Soul Food Brunch Goodies! Walk in, take a seat and scan the QR code to place your order. Friendly staff makes rounds through the dining room/patio area making deliveries of orders packaged in to-go containers for easy get-up and go! My husband had the Burrito that was literally an Entree and 2 sides, packed into a tortilla! I had the Shrimp N Grits which was well seasoned and topped with beautifully Blackened large Shrimp! Will differently be back!

I went to this place after seeing the Keith Lee video. The food was good and it was busy because of the video. Nevertheless I got my food in a timely manner after calling it in. I would go back.

Last week, I saw that they were having their grand opening today so I was excited to come out and give them a try. There was about a dozen or so people in line prior to their opening. When I walked inside the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was the Blues music in the background. The guy in front of me gave us all a free concert because he knew every song. LOL They have a walk up counter for online orders or you can go to your right for take out. They are not open for dine in yet so please keep that in mind. Also, masks have to be worn by customers so don't forget yours at home or the car. Now onto the food, I ordered a fried pork chop dinner which comes with two pork chops, mac and cheese, green beans and cornbread. For anyone that does not like cornbread, you also have the choice of a dinner roll. All dinners come with your choice of two sides. I thought that was it for me until I saw the pound cake so you know I had to grab a slice. I paid for my food and then left. I love that they cook their green beans with small chunks of potatoes and pieces of bacon. The mac and cheese looks nothing like the picture advertised. It's not baked mac and cheese at all. Maybe they are trying to save on the cost but when I think of macaroni and cheese, I think of real shredded cheese baked over cheesy macaroni. The cornbread is ok but smaller than your average cornbread muffin. Now onto the cake. Oh my goodness. This is the best slice of pound cake that I have had in Dallas. The cake is very moist and delicious. I have tried plenty of pound cakes and most places are dry with no flavor. I believe they are going to have different menu items everyday. They have just about every type of meat you can think of, Fried Catfish, Pork Steak with gravy, Pork Ribs, Fried Pork Chops, Spaghetti. UPDATE- I ate half of my pork chop and the rest of my meal. The next day, I was going to eat the rest of my pork chops but visually I didn't want it. I tossed the rest in the trash. I don't know if it's the quality of meat that they used but I seen black spots throughout the meat. I didn't really pay attention to how much my meal cost but when I checked my receipt, I paid $14.00 for my meal and $4.00 for the cake. This is very expensive for the portions they offer but I tried to overlook it since this is their grand opening. There are other soulfood restaurants in the area that offer huge portions for 2-3 days and everything is made from scratch. Hopefully, they will take this into consideration and make changes to their pricing and make all items from scratch. FYI- Check before you come if you are looking for a specific menu item. I will probably come back if I am in the area and have a taste for a slice of pound cake but I will pass on the food. They are about a 45 minute trip. Customer service is excellent.

Not too greasy, cooked perfectly and battered/seasoned well. Kevin confirmed that the fish is cooked in separate oil, win for me when I'm eating pescatarian. Waffle - delicious! Personally, I don't like my waffles crunchy so happy to report theirs were soft and fluffy! They add cinnamon to their batter which is a nice touch. Grits - both the cheese and regular were enjoyed! Cornbread - solid! A nice helping of butter served on top. Margarita - also solid! My only "pain point" would be that the building could use an update inside but clean nonetheless.

Super busy, inside the door was being held open since there was just people coming in and out. Had to get on a waitlist and that took an 45 to an hour to be seated. Once seated, the server wasn't anywhere to be found until 15 minutes after. I'm sure it was extremely backed up. But then the order didn't come after an hour. At that time, I didn't feel as hungry anymore so maybe I'll come back on a slower day. The food was decent but the sides were all pretty sodium loaded and the chicken was pretty greasy. The ambiance was and the hostesses were helpful. I would recommend to go on a slower day at least once if you haven't tried this place. Everything costs $60+, In my opinion the dishes are a bit overpriced. If you're watching out for your calories with this one then just forget it!

So if you have left overs it's already set to go. The food came out hot and fresh. The fish was fried nicely. I wish it was seasoned a bit more for my liking. It was pretty good though. It was a great size and again fried to perfection. The hush puppies were really tasty. The fried corn fritter was delicious. The pickled tartar sauce was unique and I loved it. OMG the cabbage was so DAMN GOOD! This stole the show. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned with love. It touched my soul and I wanted to lick my container. The Mac and Cheese was a NO for me. It was like black pepper and cheese sauce. It was just blah and II didn't even eat it. However, others may like it, but it wasn't that great. Sorry Nana! Overall I had a good visit!
