So disappointed. Came in for valentines brunch with my son and boyfriend & we're sat fairly quickly (granted it wasn't that packed) and I was really looking forward to it!! Menu looked delicious and I was ready for the grits and mimosa flight. Sadly... we sat there for 30 minutes without a single person coming to acknowledge us or even bring waters. Tables immediately next to us on both sides had wait staff at them, but we did not. Another table of two that was sat significantly after us had waters and their orders taken immediately. Decided to use the restroom to give them a bit more time to get it together, and still nothing. The women's bathroom was also completely out of toilet paper and paper towels at 11am. I notified the staff and even still, no one came to check in with our table. Super disappointed... was really looking forward to trying this place. Good brunch place with a bit of a fusion of Mexican and soul food. I had a breakfast scramble which was a bit like chilaquiles with scrambled egg, sausage, and potatoes all mixed in a skillet. Very good and hearty. I couldn't finish and took about 1/3 home to finish the next morning. My daughter had the full chilaquiles and loved it as well. DJ playing on a Saturday morning a little loud for my taste. Someone coming to the table trying to sell taking photos seemed a little out of place and time on a Saturday morning. Me and fraternity brothers decided to check out brunch house for a turned up brunch while in Phoenix. We had a reservation since it was a Saturday. They had a DJ that was playing some good music. I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was fire! So good with the hot honey sauce. I like they have a bottle option for the mimosa so we each got our own bottle. I'm not sure if it was just on the day I went or if it's the norm, but this was definitely a younger crowd. Me and my wife were seated as soon as we walked in. They had a DJ and then also there was karaoke going on as well. The food looked really good, even though we did not order any, we just came for the vibes and drinks. Too many kids walking around in this type of environment for my liking, literally saw someone twerking and then brought in the car seat immediately after with the baby...I can't make this up! Lol. Took all our orders and said "it must've not gone through" and had us sitting there for 1 hour before telling us, then was too scared to come back to the table. There's no A/C and it's 109 degrees outside, and our drinks took 45 min. Not sure what my breakfast special was called but it came with fried catfish (that looked like chicken strips) not sure if it was really catfish w/ all the breading but it was tasty. My plate also came with eggs, home potatoes (which I got toast instead) and 2wedges of French toast which I took home due to all the carbs. Food was good & although the place was busy, we were seated quickly w/ our reservation (be sure to make one). Place was spacious, had tvs, live DJ who played good music. 2 things that were "eh" for me was the tiny cup they gave me when I asked for hot sauce vs a bottle & the karaoke on wknds UGH....I could do w/o. We went from jammin' to the DJ to random people squealing terribly attempting to sing (which is fine at a bar & when you've had several drinks) but in the daytime, ugh it was painful. Decided to come in during the week for a new breakfast spot to try. We ended up sharing the brunch house special- jerked lamb chops, fried lobster tail, collard greens and a red velvet waffle. Food was good and fresh. The collard greens however I would not try again. I'm not sure what it was about them. Everything else was on point. Service was good. While we were eating one of the owners, Donald, came out to check on us. The restaurant has plenty of booths, a bar and some table tops. I saw a DJ set up, I'm assuming for their weekend brunch. My grand mother and her sister decided to try out the brunch house. She stated that the service wasn't great. It took 45 minutes to get their food, which was over cooked and cold. The server disregarded their concerns. And to top off, we see the receipt and she called them table 3 old ladies. So, apparently they should put up and age restrictions on what crowd they are catering too!!!!! It's disappointing that a local community spot conducts business this way. read more

We were in the area on a weekday morning and decided to stop by, since we had always wanted to try out Brunch House. Upon arriving, we were met at the door by the hostess/server, who allowed us to seat ourselves. Our server was very friendly. I told her that I was torn between a couple of their options for grits. She was happy to discuss the menu, had good knowledge, and even made recommendations. Ultimately, we decided to go with the Fried Salmon and Grits, along with the Pancake Tacos. My Salmon and Grits were very delicious. My grits were hot and had the perfect texture. My Salmon bites were good quality cuts, seasoned well and perfectly fried. The portion was just the right size for someone like myself who appreciates being satiated, without the feeling of having overeaten. The Pancake Tacos tasted as you would expect. A nice fluffy, folded buttermilk pancake, with an egg fried over hard, a strip of savory bacon and maple syrup to drizzle on top. It was a great combination of sweet & savory flavors. I enjoyed my Salmon & Grits so much that I asked to speak with the Chef, so I could personally share my feedback and gratitude, to which he graciously accepted. I know this is not a Mexican restaurant but as someone who eats chilaquiles all the time from authentic and some that aren't- this was the worst. I took like 3 bites.
