We were in Connecticut in December for a college pal's wedding drove by a Bruegger's Bagels for breakfast. There was a good selection to choose from on the menu. We had asked if they could get a Brunch Box ready for the following day for the wedding party. The individual behind the counter who was prepping our food, was so friendly, and told us she informed her boss and he was ready for us to pick up the next day. Our Bruegger's Bagels order was delicious. Made fresh and daily, truly a wonderful experience for the waiting and asking any questions and comments. They were accomodating with the order even though we felt this could be last minute and wasn't sure if they would be available. The other individual behind the cashier. Bruegger's Bagels in Trumbull absolutely saved the day for us on Friday, December 12. When a last-minute catering issue left us scrambling just before a major morning event, their team jumped in without hesitation and helped us pull together bagels and coffee for a large group on very short notice. The staff was calm, accommodating, and incredibly efficient--and thanks to them, we walked into our event right on time with everything we needed. We're so grateful for their professionalism and willingness to help when it mattered most. Truly a clutch moment, and we can't thank them enough! I've been to other locations but this one was terrible. We placed an order and the coffee tasted awful. Then we waited for 10 min for our bagels. I went over to the counter and the workers didn't even get the order I paid for! So they asked me what I ordered and they made it. They were visibly upset as they made it. One of the workers did say she was sorry but they made two other orders before they made mine. The cashier didn't even stay at the register and walked over to Jamba Juice to sit in the chairs there. I wasn't going to write anything but then I saw someone else had complained about the same person - Jay. I went in there today to put an order in. I noticed there were no more everything bagels and I asked if they had anymore. He was so rude when he said no. It wasn't even like a simple no it was like he was angry with me for even asking. Not even like oh no we sold out, sorry. I was only asking because sometimes they are making more in the back, etc. His attitude started to get worse as he asked me how many bagels I wanted with a full on attitude. He was making me anxious, so I had to pause to figure out how many bagels I needed for my family. This place is the only place we can get bagels from as my nephews have allergies so I sucked it up and took his rudeness. My husband, however, noticed that he was being rude to me and started being rude back, which led to an almost physical altercation. My husband has a TBI and should not have reacted that way, but this guy was so rude. If you hate your job, go somewhere else. Do something else with your life, but you are a miserable person. And the fact that there are multiple reviews about you and your attitude says something. We will no longer be coming there and neither will our family that live here. read more

I don't like giving one star reviews. But today it was necessary. I came here with my daughter for a fresh bagel with bacon egg and cheese. It got good reviews on Google. Didn't check Yelp, first mistake. Came inside it was around 11am and it was kinda dark in there. As soon as I got to the counter to order, they told me they only had 6 bagels left nothing I wanted and they didn't have eggs and their grill wasn't working / off. I couldn't even get any food. Definitely worst bagel ever. The lox was terrible barely any salmon no onions and the tomatoes were not fresh at all. Whoever said in the reviews these are not bagels they are some kind of roll is correct. Bagel tasted like a piece of toast or a toasted roll. This morning I went in to Brueggers Bagels on the post Road in orange. They must be under new management. The atmosphere in there has totally changed. The staff they have working do not acknowledge you when coming into the store. The girls are rude no smile no good morning no thank you. They look at you with a blank stare no emotion or customer service skills at all. They don't change their gloves so I'm sure there is cross contamination. The bagels are ok. The cream cheese is nice. But why is it that no one who works here is able to wear a mask? About half the employees have no mask at all. The rest wear their masks over their chin and maybe their mouth. But every single employee has their nose exposed. I looked on the internet to check closing hours as I did not want to make the trip for nothing--internet shows 3pm closing. I got there at 230 and the workers told me it closed at 2. The OPEN sign still shone brightly in the window. I went to the Jama side for some fresh OJ--Jama was open but out of oranges! Not unusual. About a year and a half ago they had oranges but their juice machine was out of order for over 6 weeks. I went in around 6:45 AM on Wednesday morning. There wasn't a soul in the place, including any staff. I wait, and when no one comes out, I call out "hello". Nothing. I would give no stars if I could! I come once a week to get my bagels and this store has had its up and downs but I never had a horrible complaint before. I was told they were under new ownership and the store was really shaping up. The dining room was clean along with bathrooms, that never happened before! I started coming back with my girlfriend and we were happy they had new choices to order. I thought thank God. I have a nice place to come with the girls, there are not alot of places with the customer service the two managers showed. They even asked if everything was good like a real restaurant. This time the two managers were GONE! The kid who made our smoothies was gone. There was a tall girl who took my order and she didn't even blend it all the way.... I had to throw it out. The old manager was the one who got me drinking the smoothies and his were delicious! I think it was his personality that made us actually try them and we were happy we did. Just want to post a huge shout out to Alyssa and Toni! This morning, I showed up unexpectedly and needed a large order of a dozen ham egg and cheese bagels toasted for a party I needed this morning. These girls worked together like a well oiled machine and got my order completed in 15 minutes regardless of the other customers coming in that they also had to service. These girls were fabulous! Very personable very accommodating and very efficient. Great job girls! And I was able to get to work on time! read more

Incompetent. The two times we used them for catering had a disastrous outcome. This time we tried pre ordering and picking up the order. These were for business meetings. They told me when I arrived at the predetermined time that they didn't have my order, then the story changed to we lost it. I recited the order again, they put items into bags and when I arrived at work it was determined that they never bagged a dozen bagels. They are a very disorganized group of people who just don't care. They knew I was upset that my order wasn't ready and never offered an apology. As a matter of fact they waited on someone else when they were suppose to be filling my order. My kids love the bagles so I took them. They certainty enjoyed the bagels. I had a salad and that was a mistake, barely edible and not even to the level of Subway's salads. I wound eating the remainder of my sons plain bagel, which was fresh and crisp( toasted). So the salad was one star and thebagel 5, hence the 3 stars. I could even hear some orders being taken! The Orange Bruegger's is not a franchise store so it does not accept promotion coupons from the Bruegger's rewards program and does not have the same management control. Well, well, well. Normally I could not say enough positive things about Bruegger's Bagels, no matter the location! That was until I visited this location. Please know that this review is for this PARTICULAR location, and that in general I LOVE Bruegger's... which is why there are 2 stars, versus the 1 that they deserve. The Breakdown: 1) The coffee was burnt. I drink my coffee black and usually LOVE the French Roast that Bruegger's offers (so delish!). Unfortunately for me (and this review), because I drink my coffee black I can definitely taste when coffee is burnt as there is no cream or sugar to cover it up. Gross! 2) Customer service was horrible. I asked the lady making my sandwich if she could slice the bagels I i was buying from the Last Night's Bagels bin and they said that "they weren't allowed to do that." I'm going to call Bulllll Sh!t on that one, because the other two locations I have been to in the area (Amity Rd location & Dixwell) have both been more then happy to do that. Now this may seem like a high maintenance request, but as a college student living in a dorm I don't have a bread knife lying around so to buy an unsliced bagel is really inconvenient... plus I'm the customer and I'm purchasing $20 worth of bagels, sandwiches & coffee... help a sister out. Also, the lady who was at the register and got me my coffee (a different chick then the one who made my sandwich) filled my coffee a good 2 inches below the rim to leave room for cream. When I noticed I asked her to top it off because I drink my coffee black... and she gave me attitude like it was the hardest thing in the world to turn around to the coffee machine behind her and top it off. All in all, I left this location feeling like a huge beyotch and super high-maintenance even though in retrospect, my requests (sliced bagels & a full cup of coffee) are not that extreme (at least in my opinion). I'm a big fan of Brueggar's bagels over Dunkin Donuts. The location in Wallingford is always on point, and when I worked in the area, I was there all the time. Today I went for the location in Orange, thinking they'd all be the same. My experience wasn't awful, but the guy gave me the wrong cream cheese and it's a little irritating. How do you mix up, "Light Veggie Cream Cheese" and give me plain? There's like, a ton of extra syllables in there. Pay attention. In addition, I drink my coffee black, and he filled my cup 2/3's of the way, thinking, perhaps, I'd be adding a ton of cream or milk in there. I'm used to Starbucks filling my cup 3/4 of the way to make room for milk I don't use, but this was a little ridiculous. I might as well have purchased a large to get a medium sized amount of coffee. Was looking for something different to eat than panera bread and found this place on drive home. Was excited to try something new! Having never been there I wasn't really sure what was good so I picked herby turkey bagel sandwich to be safe. It was alright except the sun roasted tomato paste tasted like pasta sauce, not my thing. So I asked her for another bottom slice and I could sense an attitude. I also got the chicken spatzal soup, was so delish that I wanted more. The girl that works this bagel place with the brown ponytail is great. The newer staff that are always changing are untrained. When I ask them for a dark toasted bagel I always get a mushy raw bagel that's burnt on the outside because they don't use the right equipment to toast it, like she does. I wish I knew her schedule! I used to visit this location a lot on my way to work. Loved it, bagels are great... coffee is good, service *was* great. Went back today because I was craving a bagel (mid Sunday afternoon). Staff is all teenagers who don't know what they're doing. They're all standing around talking with each other and when they acknowledged our presence they were arguing about who would help us. They seemed uninterested and too busy with other irrelevant tasks. It seems like it's a high school hang out with kids being rambunctious, rude, and obscene. The lack of professionalism in this place is amazing and for this reason I will not be returning. If these are the standards you hold at Bruegger's, then I wish this store well.... read more

Absolutely awful. 1 piece of roast beef soaked in balsamic dressing does not constitute a sandwich. So bad
