They are thorough and reasonable. I had the car back within hours and a nice conversation with Bruce who has been around along time and has an excellent reputation. I have a RAV4 but they work on all cars. read more

I got a partial refund by Bruce, that was nice and he didn't have to do that but I will not be returning here

Let's me start by saying that I don't trust car mechanics :), this is only due to past experiences. I found Bruce's Automotive last year and I can honestly say I've had no issues after the repairs and that's why I keep coming back. I feel his prices are fair and I've had a great experience every time. I had both catalytic converters replaced and brakes done. I had an axle issue and he helped with that, too. He explains everything and I would definitely recommend his shop and services. The shop is also very clean. Bruce and his employees do a great job. read more

Bruce installed the catalytic converter shield I purchased on the internet. The price was great, and the service was excellent. Bruce keeps a tidy shop and he knows his stuff. Would 100% recommend. read more

Bruce was recommended to me by a friend who, along with her family, has brought every car to him over the years. Another of our friends had gone and given rave reviews, and I wanted a trustworthy mechanic in Los Angeles so I booked an appointment. Bruce was trustworthy, efficient, and incredibly friendly and kind. He reminded me of my guys back in Santa Barbara -- everything is described thoroughly and there are no hidden fees. He even followed up on his work three months later to make sure all was in good order. Highly recommend. read more

Bruce's Automotive is the "GOODS"! Whether it's a door handle or tearing into the engine, I trust this guy and his helper! (His name escapes me) Thanks for the GREAT work again!!! read more

Bruce was all cocky, all I asked was if he can work on my 52 chevy 3100 front brakes , at his pace no rush, he reacted like I was not worth talking to, with a aditude , ended up doung it myself read more

Good work, a clutch job and they fixed my tire for free. It had a nail in it that I didn't know about.

LADIES: Please read. As women, we have all have been there and know chances are, inequity is inevitable when it comes to auto repairs. It is with great regret that I write this since I was referred by several people at work and took a chance on Bruce, much to my detriment! No emotion here, let the figures speak for themselves: Replace Front disc pad and rotors/Reline rear brakes/Cabin and Engine Air Filters replaced/3 wiper blades replaced - $859.24 My mechanic, Frank, of San Gabriel quoted approx. $400, and this includes 4 rotors, not 2!. His work has always been excellent. I should know as he kept my car purring over 15 of the 20 years of its life. I lost it due to a serious accident. I've moved far from Frank, post-divorce so had to find a place close by. What a mistake! I should have gone to him and and rented a car, still saving myself at least $400. While I was very disappointed and depressed when I called Bruce, I maintained a calm demeanor. Yet I was stunned at his response. He was curt stating that he uses quality products. (My mechanic doesn't?) When I told him I never had problems with any work my mechanic performed, he grew defensive and said he has to pay his workers who have families (What? My mechanic engages in slave labor?). His employees need to go on vacation too! As if I wasn't depressed enough, not only am I out $400+, I have been lectured and put in my place! If it's my responsibility to pay for his workers' standard of living and nice vacations, then how is it not Bruce's responsibility to cut his fees for a newly divorced woman whose income has plummeted, who won't see a vacation for the next 10 years? I have to survive so I don't have the luxury to make it my business to see that everyone else's standard of living meets the American dream. Ladies, see my other reviews. read more

Bruce was a waste o time. Jerk quoted me 100 over the phone. In person wanted me to sign to 213 diagnosis. That wasn't even fixing my truck. Save your money folks. customer service was terrible. Bruce even forgot my appointment. And accused me of not telling him on the phone what kinda truck he was dealing with. read more

I love going to Bruce's! My family has been going to him for years. He has fixed my family cars and would not go anywhere else!! And he always has fair prices. Thanks Bruce! read more

He replaced my alternator fast about an hour is all it took, and it was an easy and pleasant experience for me. He was also helpful on the phone prior. The price was reasonable too. Yay! read more

Nice guy. Generous with his time. Spoke to me about my car problem and gave me options besides spending $$$ on him doing a pricey fix.

I've been a long time customer. Bruce is and will always be upfront and honest with his prices. I only wish I could give him more stars. ******************* read more

Bruce is awesome. He stands by his work. I've gone to him for everything From starters to U-joints. He's quick and to the point. The best part is, unlike most mechanics, he is straight up with you about the timeframe. When he says he will have it done by a certain time, it will be. I've had nothing but great experiences with Bruce. read more

On Foothill Boulevard between La Canada and Tujunga there are at least 50 automotive repair shops. Bruce's stands out above the rest for the following reasons: 1.) fair prices, 2.) he does what he says he will do (very competent), 3.) he doesn't try to up-sell his customers and 4.) he does quality work, fast! On my last visit Bruce saved me over $300 compared to another shop. I trust him implicitly and no one else gets to touch my cars. read more

Bruce did a great job on my Toyota Tacoma! Thank you Bruce!

Bruce is funny and interesting but in terms of cars, he is also stellar and affordable! Always a delight to visit my mechanic : )

Bruce was super accommodating and very helpful! I needed an oil change and he assured me that they do everything in their power to make sure my car is ready to drive across country if I wanted to! Thanks for all your help and great advice too! read more

We moved away from this area but we still have our cars serviced at Bruce's ! He's the only mechanic that we trust! It's well worth the extra drive for us! read more

You gotta love an honest mechanic. Bruce has always been very good with our cars. I dropped off my Mustang for service. A general service as it has 115k miles on it now. Very happy with the service I received. read more

Bruce is awesome! He doesn't bullshit you and only does what's needed! He stands behind his work! He's a workaholic so he's always ready for you... But call first! :) read more

I was looking for a mechanic and was recommended to Nick at Bruce's Automotive. He's awesome! He does thorough inspections of my car and explains to me why things need to be fixed or why they can wait until next time. He's so patient with all my questions and takes the time to explain car mumbo jumbo to me, I really appreciate that! I've taken my car here several times and have always been more than satisfied with their service. I have recommend Nick to several people and they have all been impressed with him as well. I highly recommend this place. read more

Have been going to Bruce for maintenance on most of our cars (We currently have 5- only the 1965VW Bug goes to a VW specialist) for many years. We believe he is honest, reliable and treats his customers with respect. I am sorry for the 2 negative reviews as I do not find them to be the experience my family has had. All I can state is my experience and with Bruce it has always been positive. While no one is perfect and you can catch anyone on a bad day I think you should give Bruce a try. Sorry for DeeDee and Ant's experiences. Glad others have been positive too.!! Christine and Tom read more

Bruce has done 3 jobs on 3 different cars for me. The first job he did was a clutch job on my 2005 mustang gt. The second was a stage 2 spec clutch on my 2008 Shelby GT500. The third job was a flow master muffler on my 2015 tacoma. Every job he did was quality, done in a timely manner, and at a fair cost. If I need a big job done on a car I really care about I know can trust Bruce and his mechanics with anything I bring there way. read more

Bruce's shop is easy to access and great parking. His estimate was fair and the repair was done correctly and in a timely fashion. I am 70 and he either knew or worked for most of the old time mechanics in the area. Even though my automobile is an oldie, he still treated it like it was one of Jay Leno's! The shop is clean and the staff that work for him are friendly and knowledgeable. I really like the fact that I'm only one mile from his shop and he offers delivery and pick-up service. read more

good honest service. I went here after dealing with the crooks at zmotors and the difference is night and day.

Had issue with truck and Bruce said to bring it in the next morning and he would check it out. Next morning I brought it in and he ignored me for 10 minutes while he chatted on the phone. Never acknowledged or told me "II'll be with you in a moment." After finally getting off the phone he wondered why I was there and did I have an appointment. Before I could remind him of our conversation, he turned his back and started helping another customer who had just come. I waited for him another couple minutes while he totally ignored me. I have never been treated like this. He might be a good mechanic but he doesn't deserve my business!! read more

Bruce is a nice guy, honest and they do great work. I've been a customer for years, and wouldn't take my car anywhere else. He prioritizes service that's needed first, or what can wait to be done later. read more

Bruce has fixed everything from a 200,000 mile Toyota 4Runner to my 2015 Subaru. I've been taking my cars, and my kids' cars to him for 11 years, and he is always trustworthy, reliable, and helpful. He is extremely patient in explaining every bit of work that he does, and also will honestly tell me if things can wait until later. His knowledge of auto mechanics is encyclopedic, and I've also consulted with him on what cars to buy, and when to finally sell. All of the mechanics who work in the shop are excellent also, and all of them will tell you everything about how your car is functioning, unlike the faceless and nameless treatment that one can expect at the typical dealership. I highly recommend this shop for any and all repairs! read more

Hands down the best automotive place there is. I have been going here for the past year and have gotten major work done because my car is at 120k miles currently. He has done all the part replacements necessary up until this point in my cars life and it has been in the lowest cost range of any other place I compare to EVERY TIME. One time I even ended up paying less than he originally estimated. He often has very lucrative knowledge to share and I enjoy the in depth conversations we have. He is an all around great guy and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. read more

Bruce could not fix the problem on my Toyota truck after repeated visits. He charged me for diagnostics anyway. He rotated my tires without permission, (different sizes front and back!) and on the one tuneup I allowed him to do he put in, again without permission, "platinum plugs" for an extra 70 bucks. Ha. Bruce is a "talks too much" (philosopher?) crook. read more

Ladies if you don't have a man in your life who knows anything about cars, Bruce is you man! I went on a recommendation and he was up front about the cost. No surprises there! Most honest mechanic I've ever dealt with and SO NICE to have someone I can trust. read more
