I was a walk in on a Saturday morning and they took me right away for dip. Chose my color (I usually like to choose by name of color and unfortunately they don't have them labeled here you just have to pick by color you like) but my nails came out beautiful and thought my tech was good (wish I got her name). Price was the same as if I were to go somewhere in Medford or Winchester. There is parking in the front as well as the back and you can enter through the door either way. I had them redone, but had to pick a different color because they were not able to do what I wanted. Two hours later, my nails are already all scratched up. If I could have given more than 5 stars I really would. I called around 4pm asking if they had availability for a full set acrylics and I didn't have my hopes up but they did and took me right away! Everyone was so kind and the lady who did my nails did such an amazing job. I've gotten a lot of acrylics but these are the most natural feeling ones. They're not thick or chunky which I always hate. They cost like $65 which in my opinion is really good! You can also tip through Venmo which I really appreciate because I always forget to take out cash beforehand and then I don't need to find an atm. She also did my eyebrows and it was SPECTACULAR. I hadn't gotten my eyebrows done in a long time because I didn't have anyone I trusted and I'm so glad I trusted her. She waxed them and I was nervous because the under eyebrow wax is so painful but when she did it, it was like a small sting and I was so confused. So it was so nice to get my eyebrows done and it not be an excruciating process. My face wasn't red afterwards and irritated which has never happened to me after getting them done. The only con is that the parking situation is kind of weird but there is a parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking or anything. read more

I love my nails from here! I was here a month ago and got nail tip extensions full set powder dip with French tips. I entered through the back by accident but was very kindly led to the storefront and realized I came at a busy time so I waited and in the meantime picked out my colors. My nail tech also was informative about how to take care of the extension nail tips (my first set ever) so I've been able to make them last a 3 weeks now! I don't have three hours to spend at the salon. Again, great job and Trish is amazing, but this is just not worth the wait. There are other salons up the street. If you make an appointment, then you should be covered, but not here. On the plus side, if you're a walk-in you will be accommodated right away. This review is about the customer service only, the mani pedi itself was fine. They really know how to make someone feel insecure after just having a baby. I walked in today for a pedicure and gel manicure today. The water was scolding hot and she kept telling me to put my feet in. The first red flag was her pointing to my belly asking when I'm due! I was horrified. Mind you there was other customers all over the room getting pedicures too! I'm not fat or anything I just have a normal post pregnancy pouch. I told her I had my son 6 weeks ago and she shouldnt ask people that. Tried to ignore her after that and enjoy the rest of the pedicure. Then she started exfoliating my feet. She was laughing at me me saying I dont get pedicures enough and it got all over her floor. Also very embarassing. I told her I work on my feet, in the restaurant industry. Awful experience here! Made an appointment for gel mani and pedi before a long trip over seas. I waited 30 minutes even though I had an appointment and they took people that were walk ins before me. I got my mani pedi on a Tuesday and by Wednesday evening they both had chipped!!! I hadn't done anything that would cause this to happen since I literally left my appointment, went to bed, and then was on an airplane for 10 hours. Came in for a dip french manicure and the lady rushed the whole thing. She also cut me 4 TIMES and didn't say sorry until I said it hurt. I started at 12:50 and finished at 1:30. I've gotten plenty of dip manicures and they've never only taken 40 minutes. On top of that she basically kicked me out the chair so she could hurry up and get this older lady in her chair. I have been going to Bruce since he worked at Glamour nails. When he opened his own place, I followed him. Today, I was so disappointed. We made appointments for a manicure and two pedicures. When we got to the place we were sent upstairs where we waited for at least 10 minutes after waiting downstairs first. One of the workers tried to take a women that clearly came after me and thank god she said no I came after those two women. She rushed the pedicure. It was the worst one I have ever had. It hurt and I kept telling her that she was hurting me but she was rushing so fast to get to the next customer. I noticed today they are just rushing us and in out of this place. My daughter was across from me getting a pedicure also and her women didn't even put lotion on her legs! After giving a 10 tip, I was venting to the others about how horrible it was. So, when we were leaving I went into the downstairs and talked to Trish (the owners wife) and told her. She didn't seem to care very much. She said oh I'm sorry. I will not be going back anymore. I've been going there for 8 years. It was the best place for mani/pedi in the area for about 4-5 years (and I tried many places around). But I'm mostly disappointed every time I go there for the last 3-4 years. It looks like they can only do gel or shellac these days. Shellac looks OK (not great though). They may not cut cuticles very well, but they apply the shellac nail polish carefully, so it looks good. But every time I give it a try for a regular nail polish. It's a total disaster. Because they don't spend much time working on cuticles. And they apply nail polish worse than I apply it myself.. and I'm not a specialist in this area, not even close. Every time I remove it at home next day, because it looks horrible and I apply clear nail polish myself. So next day my nails look like I didn't go to the salon at all - cuticles doesn't look good, no nail polish. Total waste of money. Pedicure is a little better, but it still look like I did it myself, not very accurate. Every time I give an excuse hoping that next time it will be better. Never happens. It's only getting worse. So I give 5 stars for being a good place in the past, 1 start for being a total waste of money for the past couple of years. read more

Valerie's sister AP was going to her Junior Prom and Valerie had decided to take her to get manicures the day before. Valerie called and made an appointment for 5 pm two days beforehand. The woman on the phone was nice and kept calling her "hunny." Then there was a change of plans the next day and Valerie had to change the appointment to 4:30; the man who answered the phone said that it would be busy, but to come at 4:30 and they would squeeze us in. So, 4:30 rolls around and Val and AP enter the nail salon and are instantly hit with the scent of polish, remover, and other assorted chemicals. There wasn't much ventilation and all of the employees were wearing masks. We took a seat and were offered bottles of water by the woman behind the front desk. One of AP's friends from school was there and she said she was still waiting for her 4:00 appointment to start. While we were waiting (which turned into 20 minutes) multiple people got up and left saying they would be back in an hour, or just rescheduled their appointment for another day. Every chair and pedicure station was full. Besides the smell, the facilities overall were OK. It was a small space which was not really decorative. There was a TV on the back wall, and the waxing area was a chair that had a curtain wrapped around the area, like you would see in the hospital. The salon was cleanly - all of the tools were washed and the tables/towels were clean. There was a sink to wash in and hot towels to dry your hands with. The manicure was good - there were many OPI colors to choose from and the woman was nice and meticulous. They had lemons in the warm water bowls, and they used cuticle oil and good smelling hand cream. The woman even carried my purse over to the drying station afterwards so as to not mess up the nails. One thing Valerie found comical was that there was a container of crytal light candies by the drying machines; they were individually wrapped and impossible to open without messing up the wet polished nails. The prices were reasonable - we paid $13 dollars each for a plain manicures (french was more) and they also offer gift cards. They accept credit cards, but all of the tips must be in cash (the atm nextdoor charges a $1.75 fee). It's been three days and my nails have not chipped at all yet! In short...if you can stand the smell, and don't go on one of the busier days of the year, Bruce's isn't bad. read more

They do hot stone massages during the pedicure, which I personally look forward to. My gel usually lasts the full two weeks, due to Kims' attention to detail. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. A week and a half ago I called to make an acrylic fill appointment. I made one for the same day. I came in and the woman said my nails were in really good condition and asked if they were a new set. I said yes, this is my first fill since getting the new set, but one came off I needed replaced. It hadn't been two weeks yet, it was just the one that fell off was annoying me so I went early. The acrylic fill took 30 minutes. I had acrylic shoved under my nails, the sides weren't filed, they were all different thicknesses. I asked her to fix the shape and to clean them up. She put more polish over the top coat. She rushed to her next client. 3 days later all of my nails were peeling up. Enough that my hair was getting stuck underneath. I called back and came in. They just buffed them super thin so you wouldn't be able to tell only half my nail is covered. She told me to just "pay for another fill if I want them redone". I have literally never had such a terrible fill before. She looked at them and blamed the previous salon. She said they did a bad job and that's why mine ended up looking bad. She was totally rude to me the entire time. She told me to pay for a fill so many times. I already It's been a week and a half and they're all peeled up. My nail is ripping from underneath because the sides of my nails aren't covered at all and not filed at all. I jammed my finger on a car seat and ripped my pinky nail off... the rest were perfect. That salon is just really far from me, but I guess I'll just be making a commute to foxy nails in Lowell from now on.
