Let me start off by saying I'm a regular when it comes to services. I've NEVER had a bad service, I've always left satisfied. Katie and her staff are incredibly professional and they're always great about scheduling. When they know they're busy they'll have me book in advance so I can get all of my appointments in. And if they need to reschedule due to a conflict they always give plenty of notice. The Spa itself is very cozy and clean. Heated beds?!?! A revelation. Breath mints for when you chugged coffee on the way into your appointment?! I'm here for it. I love the convenient location and availability of parking - coming from L.A. those are luxuries. The services - I love the sensitive soothing facial! I've fallen asleep with the jelly mask on, I'm not ashamed. It was that relaxing. My husband and I both did a round of peels this past winter and his acne is basically gone, and my maskne dark spots have faded almost entirely. I also want to note that the electrology pricing is very fair! The selection of products is really good! I love Eminence and have been using that brand for a while, but I also love that they carry result driven product lines like PCA. They never get pushy with products but they'll make recommendations based off your skin concerns, and honestly who doesn't love professional skin care advice?! I had been a guest for years, returning because of the PEOPLE. You can go anywhere for luxurious amenities, but it is the people, relationships, and connections that I have built over the years with many of the team members here that I truly value and return for. The way upper management treats their employees behind closed doors is disgusting. Towards guests, it appears like they care, and in reality it is the typical corporate workplace where the employees are replaceable "nobodies" in their eyes. They use them to turn a profit, & don't value or appreciate the people behind their success. They are also not honest, which is insulting. Don't BS me when I spend thousands of dollars here and even if I didn't..don't BS me. Their LEAD aesthetician, Elisa, (who helped you get your 5 star rating from Forbes yet again this year!) is "no longer available." I was told by one person that she chose to go Columbia & she would be providing updates of her return and then someone else left me a message that she was not currently on the schedule and there was no return date at this time. I find this very interesting because I happened to run into her recently and asked about her upcoming trip. Of course I looked super ridic. when she had no idea what I was talking about. Obviously I was not told the truth. Elisa always did an exceptional job and she is a bright light in a what can be considered a sea of darkness when thinking about this world sometimes. She provided me a lot more than just spa service. When I was dealing with the worst time of my life, my Father's passing, it was extremely difficult. I was told to practice self-care and decided to try facials to help myself destress & unwind. Elisa helped provide a therapy of sorts for me that provided wellness, relaxation, peace, and a lot of kindness and compassion. Her professionalism is unmatched and her positive spirit is why I kept returning. I continuously let management know how much I loved seeing Elisa and how great she was doing. I know she was well loved by many clients especially as her sched. was always very full. She always spoke so highly of her position and how much she loved caring for her clients. Super by the book and ethical. When she was out on personal leave recently, I was so worried about her. They pretended to care when I commended them (at the time) on how they were looking out and caring for their team members. Encore unceremoniously firing their most loved employees like my host, who had been there since Day 1, and recently another day 1 host who was well loved also, to save money or whatever they think they are doing, is absolutely disgusting. I worry about all of the other team members there that I care about and talk to at every visit I go to. They are good people. It is also very uncomfortable to support an establishment that clearly has no morals, ethics, or values and does not align with how I believe we should treat people: with dignity, respect, and kindness. According to Encore Boston's own mission statement/committment, apparently Encore also doesn't align with itself either. It has become clear based on the atrocious way Encore Spa and Encore treats people that they need SERIOUS HELP. Please WAKE UP & stop treating your own people so poorly. Well, lo and behold I come upon earth + water and I make an appt. with SHAWNA. I put her name in capital letters because in all my time at spas (Bella Santa, Mandarin Oriental, Encore, Riddles) NEVER IN MY ENTIRETY have I had as great a massage as I did with Shawna..KIND, CARING, asked all the right questions but her touch which I asked for was firm and yet she relaxed me like I had never before felt. Having traveled a long flight and a previous fall, my upper back was tense, hurting and just in need of care. Well I will say, I GOT CARE FROM SHAWNA and she was a dream come true!! Never in all my time have I encountered this type of young lady with hands so precise and firm but gentle..I felt like Skipping out the door full of happiness and not one pain than when I walked in!
