UPDATED REVIEW: I want to be clear that this review is ONLY for the upper management of Encore/Spa and/or whoever is making these TERRIBLE decisions about their very best team members. I am very disgusted and upset to learn that the people I care about who work at the spa are treated like trash and discarded for selfish reasons. I had been a guest for years, returning because of the PEOPLE. You can go anywhere for luxurious amenities, but it is the people, relationships, and connections that I have built over the years with many of the team members here that I truly value and return for. The way upper management treats their employees behind closed doors is disgusting. Towards guests, it appears like they care, and in reality it is the typical corporate workplace where the employees are replaceable "nobodies" in their eyes. They use them to turn a profit, & don't value or appreciate the people behind their success. They are also not honest, which is insulting. Don't BS me when I spend thousands of dollars here and even if I didn't..don't BS me. Their LEAD aesthetician, Elisa, (who helped you get your 5 star rating from Forbes yet again this year!) is "no longer available." I was told by one person that she chose to go Columbia & she would be providing updates of her return and then someone else left me a message that she was not currently on the schedule and there was no return date at this time. I find this very interesting because I happened to run into her recently and asked about her upcoming trip. Of course I looked super ridic. when she had no idea what I was talking about. Obviously I was not told the truth. Elisa always did an exceptional job and she is a bright light in a what can be considered a sea of darkness when thinking about this world sometimes. She provided me a lot more than just spa service. When I was dealing with the worst time of my life, my Father's passing, it was extremely difficult. I was told to practice self-care and decided to try facials to help myself destress & unwind. Elisa helped provide a therapy of sorts for me that provided wellness, relaxation, peace, and a lot of kindness and compassion. Her professionalism is unmatched and her positive spirit is why I kept returning. I continuously let management know how much I loved seeing Elisa and how great she was doing. I know she was well loved by many clients especially as her sched. was always very full. She always spoke so highly of her position and how much she loved caring for her clients. Super by the book and ethical. When she was out on personal leave recently, I was so worried about her. They pretended to care when I commended them (at the time) on how they were looking out and caring for their team members. Encore unceremoniously firing their most loved employees like my host, who had been there since Day 1, and recently another day 1 host who was well loved also, to save money or whatever they think they are doing, is absolutely disgusting. I worry about all of the other team members there that I care about and talk to at every visit I go to. They are good people. It is also very uncomfortable to support an establishment that clearly has no morals, ethics, or values and does not align with how I believe we should treat people: with dignity, respect, and kindness. According to Encore Boston's own mission statement/committment, apparently Encore also doesn't align with itself either. It has become clear based on the atrocious way Encore Spa and Encore treats people that they need SERIOUS HELP. Please WAKE UP & stop treating your own people so poorly. I have been to the Soa at Encore numerous times. The positives are that the place is beautiful and the massages are great. Unfortunately I made the same mistake twice. I booked the last treatment of the day. By the time my $390, ninety minute massage was done, the hot tub, steam and sauna were closed for the night at 6 pm. They don't tell you this when you book. And they only allow one to check in 30 minutes before their service. I don't understand why they do not keep their facilities open for an hour after their last treatments end. It is a bit of a ripoff. Lastly the relaxation room is not relaxing. People talk and a woman thought it was ok to kiss her boyfriend or husband multiple times while everyone is hanging out "relaxing" in a robes. read more

Buyer beware. Do not buy your loved one a gift certificate/pre pay for a treatment. I was gifted one as was a friend and both times they charged us post treatment despite telling them the treatment had been pre paid months before. Both myself and my friend (at diff times)spent the better part of a day trying to get the charged reverse. They did reverse it but tied up our money for days because of their incompetence. They wanted to convince me I was wrong and hadn't been charged but turns out they were wrong. There are other spas in Mass in beautiful locations(this location is questionable at best) with better facilities for the same amount of money. read more

I'm adding this review due to an alarming policy. As with many other locations, if a reservation is canceled, then the full service cost is charged. However, unlike other service providers, a refund or credit is NOT provided in the case of sickness, including COVID. I have a reservation for 3 and my friend is sick. They've indicated that the full cost would be charged. This is particularly alarming because someone with less regard for others would still attend the appointment seeing as though they'll be charged regardless. A very dangerous and concerning policy. I will not be patronizing this location again. read more

My kingdom for a day pass. The second this spa gets a day pass, I'll be here once a week for the rest of my life. Though it's just a fraction of the size of Canyon Ranch or Qua or the Encore Spa in Las Vegas, this place packs quite a punch. Great hot tub, plunge tub and waterfall shower, lovely amenities, comfortable single gender lounge, quiet coed lounge, and very attentive and friendly staff. Heck, it was my birthday and as I was done with my facial (magnificent and worth it, though the price point is definitely Vegas-based), Manny (way to go, Manny) had a plate of macarons and chocolate for me. It was super thoughtful and really made me feel like a guest. I'm knocking one star off for the steam room being under repair already (issue with the tiles, I think) and me not getting a heads up in advance or some token "here's a 5% off credit for next time." I've been to a lot of spas in 4 states and let me tell you this one is one of the top. It is spotless clean and has breath taking decor. All the staff are so polite and attentive. The 3 massages I received where all A+ The entire place is so comfortable and relaxing. My husband hasn't gotten a massage in about 10 years. He was BLOWN away by this place and the massage itself. My last massage was a couples massage. I hope in the future they will make private spa like rooms for couples so we can have our own privacy in a hot tub before the massage. They definitely have to room for it! It's huge. This is definitely my favorite spot in Massachusetts for a massage. read more

It's luxe. My friends and I went here for a galentine's massage. We all had excellent massage experiences, customized to how we like it. My therapist was helpful, she knew I was tight from working out and gave extra attention to problem areas. One of my friends is usually on her feet all day and her therapist noticed that and was able to work wonders for her feet! We had early appointments and the place was pretty empty for the thermal experiences, which you can enjoy 45 min prior to your appt. You're given robes and slides to wear- just need to bring a bathing suit for the hot tub/ cold pool and steam room. The tea selection was nice and there are light snacks and iced tea in the relaxation room before the massage. The showers, bathrooms, and amenities were all very nice! What a gorgeous spot. I didn't know such beautiful space and technology was out there. Van took care of me and helped me pick my nail color, and helped me through the whole process. I have a hard time being honest about what I like and don't like and Van made me feel so comfortable I was able to genuinely enjoy my whole experience. Not to mention my pedicure is stunning. 10/10 recommend Van at the salon. The pedicure was also a reasonable price, I always get my nails done at the organic spa in Bedford and it was a comparable cost but with more to offer. I am amazed! read more

This was my first experience at Encore Boston Harbor's Spa and I cannot rave enough about how amazing an experience it was. The facilities are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. The staff are attentive, helpful and discrete. I bit the bullet and went for the "Good Luck Ritual" 90 massage. It was phenomenal! Gibson Silva was my massage therapist. In my life to date I've likely had anywhere between 10-15 90-min massage treatments at a host of facilities (some 5-star rated) around the country. This was among the top two treatments I've ever received, and may be the #1! Gibson clearly brings a wealth of training, experience and heart to his work. If you have the good fortune of booking a massage at Encore Boston Harbor's Spa, I recommend requesting Gibson! Finally, I highly recommend taking advantage of the amenities 45-min before your scheduled treatment. The plunge pools, water fall shower and sauna and steam rooms really set the stage for my amazing massage experience. I will surely return for another treatment in the future read more

I guess everyone has their own experience. My sister recommended that I come here so I I booked the ocean experience with the massage for my birthday. It's a Monday, so it was nice and quiet and I was able to experience other parts of the facility after my massage. Everyone was nice as well as my masseuse. However, the massage was mediocre. at some point I wanted to know if she even knew what she was doing, she didn't really apply much pressure and just kind of felt like she was rubbing fingers on my face randomly. It just kind of felt like she was playing on my face and scalp when it came to the face and scalp part of the massage. I really wish she got in there a little more. Had the massage been up to par it definitely would've been worth the price. I've definitely had much better massages for less than half the cost so I feel like I was paying more so for the ambience. My expectations were pretty high so I was a tad disappointed about that part. Again the massage therapist was nice so I didn't really want to complain. Unless I get another masseuse, who does know what they're doing, perhaps I will return but for now I see no rush. read more

It's small, pricey, not that special, and I am not a big fan. I love the wynn casinos such as Vegas or Macau, but not this Wynn casino in Boston. I preferred to go to either Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Everything looks beautiful, but the quality, the restaurant, and the atmosphere is not the same. I get that you're trying to make back your money, but it's pushing people out. I'm glad that you don't have to pay so much for the parking anymore. read more

As a visitor, I had a wonderful experience at The Spa at Encore. It's a very peaceful, very beautiful facility. The staff was attentive and efficient. The hot tub area is a little small but no one else was there so I had the place to myself. (Bathing suits are required and it's impossible to buy one here in winter but I was able to wear gym clothes. Ugh. I'll always pack one going forward.) Heated tile lounge chairs, steam room, sauna, showers, and a private changing room available. Water, tea and a few snacks are in the lounge and pre-treatment coed waiting area. My massage therapist (Ariel) did a wonderful job and I'll encourage my husband's gambling so I can come back. read more

I cannot explain how beautiful this spa is. Tall ceilings and it had a very elegant Roman feel to it with a modern twist. Clean and elegant and they had a really nice plunge pool and heated tile beds. I had the greatest massage. I hope to come back again.I couldn't bring my phone so I couldn't take any pictures..I was really turned off by the fact that I couldn't get a tour of the spa initially because of privacy reasons but I ended up going for treatment anyway. The room was beautiful, I lost my bestfriend and uncle to cancer and found out during my stay.. checked to see if there was a late checkout option... when I called they told me 11:30 is the best they can do when check out is at 11 or I can Purchase a late check out.. after I told them how I'm trying to pull myself together. This is Unacceptable, when paying 400$ for a basic room. I just expected a five star resort to be more accommodating. Sad how they ask if your celebrating anything but won't accommodate you in your time of need. The front desk when I called didn't even give me a "sorry for your loss" truly sad. Oh myyyyyy. This place is one I visited with my 3 girlfriends on Saturday for our Aroma Therapy massages. It was so tranquil and relaxing. We enjoyed the receiving lounge with teas and some snacks and fruits. Came in early to enjoy the amenities before our scheduled massages. I loved the sauna and steam rooms. They have a plunging hot and cold pool, lockers and showers. Hair dryer, curling irons, towels, robes, slippers and whatever else you may need are provided. The staff were extremely sweet and helpful. We had such a great time decompressing and enjoying the facilities until thy closed! Will be back for the next special event!! This spa is by far the best around. The utmost in elegance. Incredibly professional staff. The massage was 80 minutes of pure relaxation. My daughter and I enjoyed the steam room, sauna,whirlpool, cold pool, warming lounge beds. All the little extras suchh as infused water, a selection of teas, many imported chocolates and treats. While it's a beautiful facility, my massage was below mediocre for the price and didn't address any of my concerns. My upper back is still beyond stiff and seems to be even more knotted than before I went in (I had the Custom massage for 80 minutes). I'm still in pain and wish I hadn't done the treatment. My masseuse also didn't offer me the stone treatment or selection of oils that others in my party got. The sauna did a better job in relaxing my muscles. The staff were extremely professional in terms of attitude so I didn't want to make too much of a complaint, but I would not recommend coming to this spa. I'm willing to try again next time I visit Encore for a different treatment to see if it's better... The second star is for the delicious orange biscotti and selection of tea bags; I wish I could've taken some to my room! read more

Bota Bota Spa-Sur-l'eau in Montréal Quebec is also a on off my favorite place for a day Spa. Love this place, everything about this place is awesome. But today I had the pleasure of having a massage by Suda Phet at the Spa at the Encore. Without a doubt it was the best. Suda is not a big woman, but ohhh my God. I had the best experience at The Salon @Encore Boston Harbor! I needed to have my nails done after a disappointing experience elsewhere . I did not have an appointment . It was New Years Day. I walked in around noon to see if there was an opening . The Salon was booked. The women at reception worked with me to get an emergency appointment . They were extremely pleasant and accommodating . They snuck me in at 6:30 (close at 7) with the most amazing manicurist ! I highly recommend this Salon . My manicure was done by Van...Van-tastic!! He took his time, was very pleasant , and made me feel like a princess with my new nails. My nails have never looked so good. As I mentioned it was closing time when I arrived yet everybody took care of me as though I were their first appointment of the day. Van took his time with my manicure . Amazing attention to detail with a smile , and conversation . I felt bad about everyone staying late . They never once showed any sense of urgency to leave. Amazing place! Wonderful staff! I never had such a bad experience in my life. We were even betting in the high rollers casino tables which had very rude people working, except the dealer. The worst hotel ever. Michael Caputo Senior Host- Domestic Marketing was very rude to us. For what reason I'm not quite sure. The oyster bar, along with the rest restaurants have nobody in them. I had a wonderfully luxurious pedicure last Sunday at the Encore Boston Harbor Salon. I've been a customer of Van's for many years and didn't hesitate to follow him to Encore. He is very attentive to his clients and makes us feel like royalty. I especially appreciate his soothing and relaxing foot and leg massages. Everyone at the Encore Salon is courteous and friendly, always asking if there is anything we need, such as a glass of champagne, mimosa, latte or water. When I was leaving, I felt fresh and renewed, like I was walking on air. I highly recommend Van and the Encore Salon and am already looking forward to my next visit. read more

My first visit to Encore Boston Harbor Spa was earlier this month. The amenities were beautiful, however they could not make up for the less than average massage. I booked a therapeutic massage with arnica, being a massage therapist and educator in the industry myself, I knew that this was probably a deep tissue massage, which was confirmed by the girl at the front desk. This was an 80 minute treatment, with a 1/3 of that time spent on the feet, my legs, arms and face and scalp were not massaged at all. There was no music in the room, no bolster for the first 10-15minutes. The treatment was definitely not what one would expect from a luxury resort. Sorry to say, I will not be back or recommend this spa to friends and family. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect when I called for a first time appointment. I can assure you from my first phone call with the receptionist up until the time I left was nothing less than amazing. The atmosphere and greetings from the staff when getting off the elevator going in to the salon was the perfect start. The receptionist was so kind and welcoming. I then was offered a glass of champagne or a mimosa and happily went with a glass of champagne which was complimented by a side of chocolates and amazing cookies. I then meet my new master sylist Amanda. I think she may be a gift from God lol. She got me as a new client with 50 shades of store bought hair colors over the past year to include greys and hair breakage yet she still seemed to like me! She examined my "situation" and made a plan. End result. Best color I have EVER had. No brassy tones. It's shiny. Looks healthy. I finally feel ok when looking in the mirror.
