I called before going in and they said it was ok to go in. When I pull up there's a sign on the door that said they are working upstairs. I went up there, told them I needed eye brow waxing and gel manicure. So we had to go back down and do the wax. I do not recommend getting waxed there. I could tell she wasn't doing a good job by where she was applying the wax and she was putting it on my skin hot. When she was done there looked like there was no difference to my eye brows and I had to ask her to clean them up. I didn't even say anything else cause I wasn't about to have messed up eye brows. She kept asking me if I wanted to do my lip, I said no she kept asking and suggesting. It not only rude but upsetting I already said no. Go back up they suggest I do acrylics, I said no they asked again. I sat down and while picking my color this woman was standing directly over me. That was uncomfortable and weird,9 she finally left I tell the girl I didn't want my nails cut she did it anyway she told me she was just going to cut down a Lil she didn't. She cut more than a little and then kept filing them so now they are super short. I asked for two colors and heart designs on the pinky. She wasn't understanding what I was asking and I just ultimately told her forget it because she missed painting a quarter of my pinky nail and I kept telling her she blamed the nail polish and refused to fi. It. I got there. Mid painting my nails she changed the blue I asked for without asking me. When I was leaving the guy asked me how it was I told him bad. He offered for me to go back to fix it but I think not. They have a lot of polish options, they do designs and have tons of stuff for it. not even a week in on $85 nail set. not including the tip!! I wanted this to be dip over tip nails. what they used I've never seen before. they glued on tips to my nail and then used gel over that. why? they said it would last longer and look more natural. I said I wanted shorter and she said she cannot do that or else the top will crack. took over 2 hours to do. my nails are oversized and flimsy. Next day lost a nail. Day 6 now lost 3 nails. last time I went there took over 2 hours for simple dip manicure. I will not be back. just awful. they don't listen they push you to do what they want to do. The place is very small, and there's only two seats and two chairs for pedicures but it's very cozy and feels like a home. They do all kinds of designs and make sure it's exactly what the customers want. it's very cheap but amazing. if they get any less than 4 stars, they write back to the reviewer and make sure they come back in, so they can fix their mistakes. they seated me quick and got right to it, they weren't quick to rush, they took their time and make sure everything was perfect. overall this place was 10/10 and I will definitely be coming back read more

This is a little hole in the wall, and you need to know this before you go. Not fancy. Not a ton of colors/collection and dusty from all the nail work they do. However, there's this family joint feeling to it. I've only been here once, and it won't be my last. Everyone seems happy to be working there. They were friendly with everyone, and there was a lot of laughing. Lee did my pedicure, and she was a sweetheart. She did try to upsell me, but a simple no was enough. I have been seeing sam here for a few years now and I have nothing but good things to say. He can replicate any picture of nail art that I show him, and always shapes my nails exactly how I want. I'm very picky when it comes to my nails and i've been to dozens of salons over the years so sticking with one for this long really says something. I will say the prices are higher than other local salons, but the service is worth it in my opinion. Sam always greets me with a huge smile and makes me feel comfortable! If sam isn't available, vanessa is just as good! so gentle and excellent at what she does. They are both artists who really love what they do, and that is rare to find! Highly recommend seeing these nail technicians, I personally get acrylics with gel top coat. read more

Quaint salon, inexpensive Lee and Vicky do a great job. Eyebrow threading is the best! Only place I would ever go to. I have been taking my now 10 year old to Lee for years because of her ingrown toenails. We call Lee Dr. Lee because she easily removes them without my daughter (who is NOT a toughie) even flinching. I dont know how she does it but the 2 other places we previously went to either did not fully remove it or hurt her. Either Lee or Vicky do my fabulous pedicures. The staff were all very sweet but my appointment that is usually a 2 hour full set and pedicure turned into a 4 1/2 hour appointment. The guy doing my nails kept taking off and redoing a bunch of nails but seemed to be new.. extremely overpriced and nails broke within 4 days. Started with Lee (who had her quirks but if you were serious repeat client, she had her heart invested in you), then started working with Sam, a wonder-man, trained in CA, about 1.5 years ago. What matters - these guys LISTEN to you, they understand your needs, identify issues and fix it. The end result - enviable nails that last, that are healthy, that are fashionable and exciting. Sam is constantly working on improving/ updating the inventory, implementing new technologies and the latest fashion trends. Coupled with his masterful skill, it's an unbelievable combination. I've gone to V & V for about a year now when Lee was still there. Her and Vanessa were awesome. Vanessa gives great foot messages. One day Lee was busy and had called her brother to come and help. Sam was great and does amazing nails. He's very passionate in what he do. I would drive from anywhere to get service done with him. Now Sam took over that location. Then one day he pushes me off to have someone else to take care of me. I understand work can get busy, but yesterday was not the first of many appointments that were made in advance. I had schedule a 4:30 appointment a week prior however, to come in and waited an hour. Within that hour, they had my nails wrap, but didn't get full service until after 5:30. I don't know if they double book, but early that morning I had called to cancel my pedicure but still kept my appointment to do my hands. Neither Sam or the staff acknowledge or apologize that they are running behind schedule. Your phone number is taken down when you initially make your appointment so a phone call would've been appreciated. I've always given good tips based on the service provided. I feel these last few visits are not pleasant anymore. And I've always recommend others to go there as I know they do great work. But customer service is only best with "newly customers". I never write reviews but I think that after my experience this weekend it is necessary. If this prevents ONE person from going to this salon than I would say it is a success. My friend and I met in Burlington for a quick manicure before dinner on Friday night. We hadn't seen each other in a while and Burlington was a perfect halfway point for both of us. She had looked at the reviews, and although they were so-so, we decided to risk it. Initial Notes * GPS took me to a completely different plaza, 10 minutes down the road (I later found out that V&V has been in the same location fro 18 years, so not sure how that happened) * Location was sketchy. The top floor of a house looking building behind a Papa Gino's * The owner (and manicurist) was INCREDIBLY pushy. Could not take no for an answer. Luckily I had read reviews about this exact thing, so we were prepared to turn her down. We weren't prepared to have to turn her down 20 times. * Both she and her husband were nice, although pushy, but nice enough to deal with. Very friendly. When we left the salon I realized that a few of my nails were not filed evenly. At this point it was already closed, so I decided I could live with it. The next morning, half of the polish on my thumb nail peeled right off. Keep in mind we had both gotten gel manicures, which in the past at other salons had lasted at least 2 weeks. Because I live too far away to go back to this salon, I went to a salon in my town to get it fixed. The woman at this salon was SO wonderful and sweet and began fixing my nail. She pointed out that V&V had barely cut my cuticles, and painted all over them. I asked her honest opinion if she thought the rest of my nails were going to end up peeling off and she said "probably". I then decided to just have her remove the mess and do another full manicure. So, 55 dollars (total) later, I finally have a manicure that looks AMAZING and will last. I will not be returning to V&V. read more

I didn't expect this place to be so small, but it's definitely a hidden gem. Finding it was a little difficult because I didn't know it was upstairs, but once I got my mani and pedi done I was pretty happy. The service was friendly and quick. The one complaint I do have about this place is that I got a French manicure and pedicure, but my nails aren't exactly squared (like I asked for) and the white paint isn't even on both the mani and pedi. I found this nail shop about two years ago which happened to be three months before my wedding. This place is small, but the services was fast and friendly. For my wedding I trusted Lee to do my eyebrows, she did an awesome job. Since then I only trust Lee to do my eyebrows. They have convenient hours and you don't need and appointment to get good service (well except on Sundays). I moved, but I still go back to see them. I always take my family there when they come to town. I would recommend this nail shop for anyone who have a busy life and need good service. You will not be disappointed! read more

I went here a few years ago for a basic manicure. The technician messed up my natural nails so badly that the owner told me he would put acrylics on for free. I had acrylics for 2 years (Sam did them and did a beautiful job). Covid hit and the acrylics eventually came off and I NEVER want them again. Too much time and money. So after 2 years of not going there, I decided to go down to get a pedicure. I needed an acrylic put on one of the nails because it's damaged. The technician doing it seemed like she was in a rush. She put me on a timer. She didn't really file the nails at all. They were all pointy and jagged, I had to fix them when I got home. It also looks like she only painted half of my nail on each toe. If I had the means to put on the acrylic myself, I could have done a better job at home. Also, while sitting there getting my nails done... with what looked like 5 technicians working (all busy with someone) about 8 people walked in for a 1:00 appointment. They've always double booked themselves for as long as I've been going there. So the wait times (even with an appointment) can be ridiculous. I love Sam. And I love his designs and his passion. But unless you're having Sam and only Sam doing you're nails... it's not worth the money. read more

I just moved to the Burlington area and have been looking for a good nail salon. I don't need to look any further because I found V&V Nails on Cambridge st. I've been there twice already and have been extremely impressed by their work. They are open late during the week, and will even make appointments on Sundays. They are very accommodating to working individuals. I did a manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow threading. The pedicure feels and looks great, and they certainly do not rush which is greatly appreciated. I have really short fingernails, and had asked for a French manicure. Lee did a wonderful job with the gel manicure, and even added some beautiful flowers on my ring fingers. She is definitely a talented artist!! You will not be disappointed with her work. I think the pricing at V&V is very reasonable, and there is a sign that clearly lists the prices for everything they offer. Lee and Vinny are some of the most welcoming and friendly people I've ever met, and I'll definitely be back shortly!! read more

Lovely people, but unfortunately I got a staph infection (really REALLY bad news folks- spent my weekend in the ER with a heavily swollen foot and needed IV antibiotics because the oral antibiotics weren't strong enough to kill the infection)...the place is cluttered and feels dirty, and unfortunately one of the nail folks is a bit inexperienced. She cut into a blister on my foot and then had me put my foot back in the water beneath me- crisis begins...extremely scary and some of the worst pain I've ever had in my life. I will be very careful before ever getting a pedicure again. And never from this place:( read more

I don't write reviews often, but I felt compelled after my experience at this nail salon yesterday. My friend and I went and it was our first time- I actually picked it because of its good reviews. There are no prices listed for any service, and the owners acted offended when I asked! (Sorry that I have a budget?) I came in for a pedicure only, and the woman told me to try the color on my finger nails and she would "clean them up after." I thought, okay, that's nice of her. Well as I'm finishing up my pedicure, she goes to "clean up" my nails and all of a sudden I realize she starts filing ("how nice of her" I think) and then the cuticle cutter comes out. I said "Oh, I don't want a manicure, I thought you were just taking off my polish" and she said "Sorry honey, I already started the manicure." Um, no you didn't? Then she said, "I'll give you a discount for the manicure." I said, "No, I really don't want one." She continued to push until I literally had to take my hand away from her. It was extremely awkward. My friend also came for just a pedicure, but she was pushed too far into the "let me clean up your nails" scheme which is an ACTUAL MANICURE before she realized what they were doing. At this point, she asked for no paint because she wanted out of the manicure. They charged her $12! For less than 10 minutes of nail filing and cuticle cutting! I said something to the owners and they took $2 off the price, but my friend and I both felt like they were very sneaky and pushy.
