I was looking for a new place to do my nails and saw this place next to my favorite coffee shop! Walked in and was sat right away but it went downhill from there. My nail lady was very nice but she wasn't able to do the nails that I showed her. I was just going to settle with that. During my time there, the owner or boss, not sure what she was, kept yelling at my nail tech and talking about her in the rudest ways. I only know this because I can understand the language. It was so disrespectful of her to talk to another person like that, especially as the owner or boss. I wanted to say sorry to my nail tech because I felt terrible that she was being treated like this. Another lady overheard that the color I wanted wasn't exactly and decided to take over. She had to take off all the gel and do it over again and it still wasn't close to what I wanted. I spent over 3 hours there just to get nails all different lengths, not the color, and to listen to the rude yelling at the workers. I won't be going back. read more

I've been getting my nails done here for a couple of years now. I've had my fair share of nails salons and even stopped going because I was never satisfied with the work from places I've gone to. But over here I never had a problem. I'm the type to never have just one plain color, I always come in wanting designs. Most times complicated designs and Jasmine never fails to surprise me. Great prices! The staff is super friendly and they do not rush at all (as with other places). I came in to get a full set of acrylics. After each step, they make sure you are happy with everything. Other places do not even ask or make sure it's what you want (the length, shape, etc). Next time I will get a design, as they have so many to choose from and it's not out of budget! So this might get rather long - but I've been getting acrylics for about 35 years.  I started going to Sun off and on since they opened because I was a client at the place it took over - often with my husband as well to get pedicures.  The service was generally OK experience and overall happy with my nails  - which I wear in a long coffin style with gel overlay.  I noticed that the woman jasmine who generally did them was not super friendly - lacked discussion tolerance even with simple requests for nail color or design suggestion... saying next time to choose color before and not waste her time. Another time she nicked my skin with drill drawing blood - my involuntary reactionary impulse was to quickly pull my hand back - and she proceeded to scold me saying it doesn't matter she nicked me that I'm not supposed to move my hand... not i'm sorry are you ok - its my fault.  Sure ok - I chalk off her blunt ignorant behavior to cultural differences...rationalizing the trade off because she always did a great job - and it's hard to find a good nail tech. As matter of fact I always told her she did a great job and tipped well... hard to find a good nail tech. Fast forward last weekend i went in for a fill and had another girl... she was OK- but two of my nails on my right hand that had snapped off had to be redone altogether... So the shape was perfect and she proceeded to finish and everything seems fine until I start using my hand and noticed the nails felt weak... I put my glasses on and realized why - from the side there was not a sufficient build up of bulk on the nail bed to stabilize the tip... it was essentially straight with no smooth traditional arch from the cuticle.... the result was everytime there was pressure on the long nail tip - they felt as if they were going to snap.  So I call the next morning and tried to explain the issue - and they tell me to come in. Now I'm taking more of my time to go back - when it should've been installed properly right? Well - she looks at my nail and proceeds to berate me about how I'm always complaining and giving people hard time and the nail was good enough and didn't even break yet ... and of I want to complain then they won't do them anymore.  She was off the hook... yammering a types of nonsense.  Then saying the new nail being flat is OK - and it didn't matter they were uncomfortable. .. Im just being too picky.  OMG... Now - never EVER have complained, nor barely spoke because they were not welcoming to conversation... This woman is straight up rude, abnoxious and delusional - instead of being accommodating she was accusatory- like I want to waste another hour of my day dealing with their unpleasantness??  Just beyond rude and abnoxious.  She begrudgingly fixed the two nails - and they are perfect with no flexing on the nail bed now... but all set biting my tongue with this passive aggressiveness.. I urge anyone thinking about spending their hard earned money - do it at a salon that doesn't think they are doing you a favor and abuse their customers.  So done with this woman and her piss poor attitude. Not to mention their fills are now $55-90... a steep price for ridicule. I urge anyone who does go there to turn on their Google Translate App to decipher the banter... im sure you'll be in for a treat. read more

So I was l looking for a new nail place. I get it's During Covid, but I was not impressed. 1 walked in and was told hey you sit down. Then when it was time to go to get the pedicure, hey you sit over there. The pedicure was rushed, not the best quality. Covid review there was no social distancing, people where sat next to each other not every other chair. There was plastic separating the people doing the nails but not separating the customers, like I said the customers where all sat next to each other. The chairs we sat in where not wiped down after us, we sat to have our nails dry for a bit so there was quite a bit of time for them to do this. Overall will I be back. Nope. WARNING: Long review. Worst "salon" in chelmsford and not everyone in the place is LICENSED, there's only 3 certifications on the wall for over 6 techs. Jasmine deletes any reviews that are not positive and has disabled reviews on all platforms besides here. My review on google photos is the most relevant and includes photos. This was the absolute worst experience in a salon I have ever had, and the worst customer service I have ever witness or received in my life. I was booked for a gel mani pedi for 5pm, but didn't get sat until after 5:20 because my tech was on her phone, she also seemed very unhappy to now have a client. She tried using a drill on my real nails multiple times and ripped the gel off so badly that it ripped off layers of nail. When I demanded she soak them off she put me in the pedicure chair and gave me cold water. I then spent 2.5 hours stuck in the chair getting the absolute worst pedicure of my life, she left dead skin on both feet, I had to ask her to cut and shape them, and someone else had to finish it because she clearly didn't know what she was doing. He then demanded to do my nails too, even after me repeatedly saying I needed to leave and did not want my nails done anymore because of how bad everything had been so far. He refused to let me leave until he did my nails, even though I was literally crying, incredibly uncomfortable and having a panic attack over all of this. When he was finally done I only paid because I felt like he would make me stay again if I didn't. The next day he refused a refund, he told me to come let me get my nails done by HIM personally. I stood my ground and said the only way I would step foot in that place again was for a refund. The manager then refused a refund too, saying the same thing, come get my nails done instead. I showed up asking to speak to her and she refused, told me to go outside and talk to the same man who made me so uncomfortable already. I called the cops to file a report documenting the fact that I wasn't allowed to leave even after asking to multiple times. The manager says I should take her to court to get my $69 refund for the $55 "pedicure" I got dicked around with for over 2 hours, very professional. After a long 2 months I got the refund because I disputed the transaction with my bank. My friend went back today and had the EXACT same experience i had and when she called Jasmine to let her know how unhappy she was, Jasmine hung up. If I could rate ZERO stars I would. read more

My review for Sun Nails is mixed. Some of my experience was superb, other parts of my experience missed the mark. I'll start with the pros. Pros- The young girl who did my pedicure was fabulous. She spent extra time removing the cuticle skin, did an awesome massage, and made the pedicure a very relaxing experience. The team here is really engaging for the most part and has a humorous banter with their clients. The staff went above and beyond for sanitization- each pedicure station has a divider on both sides and in front, and they spend a lengthy time sanitizing after each customer. The owner is very talented- I saw her do very impressive nail art on a client with long nails. Cons- They keep the door open instead of using the AC. The day I went was 92 degrees, so it was not very comfortable with just the doors open. My manicure is where things got a little hairy. I wanted long nails, coffin shape, all done with dip. The dip application was not done evenly- it was very bumpy. She did so much filing that it caused my skin to break and bleed. I requested all dip because I am a hairstylist, and when using dip, hair color doesn't stain my nails. She used a gel top coat, so the day I returned to work staining occurred. If I knew she was going to add a gel top coat, I wouldn't have got this service for this exact reason.She overly aggressively filed all my nails due to the sloppy dip application, and the finger that bled from the over filing, that nail broke off in 4 days. The break was very low on the nail, and was very bloody and painful. When the manicurist was struggling getting my nails to look even and less bumpy, she started "flinging" my other nails out of her way, and said I was tightening my fingers to much (I assume this was causing her all the struggle?) At that moment, the humorous banter I talked about was gone. She was frustrated with me due to the "tightness" of my hands- even though I've been getting my nails done for 20 years and that's never been an issue. At the end of the day, I think it was a nail service she wasn't very experienced in. She did try to file it and spend a lot of time fixing it, which I did appreciate, rather than not caring at all. read more

I would give one star if that was possible, I just want to make that known. This was my go to place after leaving a place down the street because it was too expensive. I had really had a great experience the first two times I came here and the most recent time, it was absolutely horrible. I would love to go into detail but it would probably take 200 pages to write. Basically I was in there for 3 hours and all I left with was a polish change on my toes that looked horrible and bumpy. I had acrylic tips on my toes and the woman did not take them off like I had asked, she painted over them. So I complained when they looked horrible. Then she finally took tbem off and painted my toes with regular polish. When I went to pay she charged me WAY over the price. She told me that my nails were gel when they clearly weren't and I had said that a million times. She argued with me until I nicely told her I will only be paying for what I received. This place is SOLEY focused on money and not the customer experience. I do not recommend at all. read more

This is a great establishment, that gives you quality work BUT their customer service is absolutely the worst. I'm a new client to the store and the first time I went I had an alright experience, my nails came out good. The second time I had jasmine and I loved my nails. This time when I called to make an appointment I had an idea In mind of the nail designs I wanted & the tech just kept talking me out of the design saying that jasmine will not have enough time to do your nails, it did not make sense to me because I'm paying for the for the service. When I tried explaining my concern they kept dismissing me. All I'm saying is that this is my last time going here and will not be giving my coins to sun nails.Also they are very unprofessional, always put the blame on the customer!!!!!!! read more

Let me just start off by my saying, I have had the absolute worst luck with nail techs! They always hurt me when doing my nails. One nail tech just traumatized me for life! That is until I found Jasmine! She is so kind and oh so very gently, she does not rush her work. Her husband gives the best pedicures I have ever experienced. I've come here twice in the past two months. Both times the staff have been very friendly and welcoming. The nail service here is great. The first time I came here I got a pedicure and a gel manicure. They take their time with your treatment so you don't feel rushed. When I came back about five weeks later, I only had my hands done because my pedicure was still intact! They are really big in keeping things clean. They sterilize their products every time and have disposable liners for the pedicure stations. They have great prices. I will continue going back to them! read more

I called last week on June 3rd to book an appointment for this Monday June 7th at 5:30pm, but I couldn't make the appointment. So I called on Monday morning at 9:19am to reschedule. I spoke to a man and he let me know I'm all set to be rescheduled for today, Friday June 11, at 5:30pm. I then received a call on Monday at 5:35 with the exact words "You have an appointment." Without even saying who it was to begin with. I realized it was a different man from the salon and I mentioned to him I spoke to another man this morning to reschedule for Friday. He then asked for my name to confirm and then said "ok bye" and hung up on me. I assumed all was fine. However, I just went into the salon for my appointment today (Friday June 11) and they told me my appointment was Thursday and that they called me. I checked my call log and I didn't have a single call or voicemail left for me. I understand that people make mistakes and miscommunications happen, but to put the blame all on me is unprofessional in my opinion. If they had just said there was a miscommunication and scheduling was messed up some how I would have understood and not have been writing this review. Instead, I was made to seem like I was an inconvenient client that doesn't understand anything. read more

2 stars because quality of work is OK, staff are very kind but they need help with managing appointments. Salon was busy, everyone had appointments and technicians would leave clients with appointments to wait and still take care or walk ins. My appointment was at 11am, I was not late at all and I was seated within 5-10 minutes from arriving for my spa pedicure and full set. During my pedicure, a walk in came in, gave a sob story about needing her gel manicure done and cannot come back later because she's "waiting for her doctor to call her and let her know when to go to the emergency room." Note; this is now 12pm on a Friday. My technician decided to leave me mid pedicure to take care of the walk in instead and I found that extremely rude considering the fact I made the appointment the day before and it's not hard to tell a customer "SORRY WE'RE CURRENTLY BOOKED." My pedicure was not done until 1pm. Pedicure water was cold since the beginning and after waiting so long for someone to continue my service, I didn't bother telling them nor did they even ask if the water was ok. On top of that he did not ask how I'd like my nails cut/shaped and his massage was painful. It's nice that the workers take their time with you but even when they have appointments coming in or waiting, they take way too long. The quality of work is nice but time management is unacceptable. I will not be coming back and I do not recommend until they figure out how to properly care for their clients. read more
