TLDR: love love love this salon!…read more i drive up from cambridge because the quality here is better than any place i've tried in my 25(!) years living around here. been to belle vista a handful of times now, and had great experiences -- the techs here are incredibly skilled and can do different styles and textures like chrome, ombre, and cats eye quickly and efficiently when those services might take an additional 15-20 minutes at other salons. i have only done dip for my manicure and regular polish for my toes here, but it has turned out great every time. no chipping or peeling for like a month after i got them done. the techs here are very kind and willing to adapt their routine to work with your needs -- adjusting the temperature of the hot stones, being careful around sensitive cuticle areas, suggesting colors or styles that might look good, etc. it IS expensive, but i only go every 5-6 weeks or so and i'm willing to put up a little extra cash for good service! their online scheduling is upfront about costs. they are incredibly clean and they have a pretty wide variety of colors and options. special shout out to edward, who came in half an hour early this morning to do my nails (the purple) before i had to start work and was meticulous with every aspect of the treatment -- AND did his best to get me out on time. i believe the tech who did my pink ombre was named amy. she was also skilled and kind and did a great job!

First time I came I booked an acrylic full set but they had started applying press on gel extensions. That was and is completely fine, and I didnt speak up as I was willing to try something new (I also didn't mind it being a little cheaper). They looked amazing and were super hard to get off (which is a good thing). When I had gone back, I made sure to specify I wanted acrylic as I didn't love the thickness or feeling of what I had previously gotten, but the person who did them still did a good job. I had mentioned it was pretty difficult to soak off, and as I wanted them off before I came in. They asked who did my nails and I wasn't sure, but I never said I was unhappy with my nails or with who had done them. They were then speaking to eachother about what I said, but somehow had misheard me and thought I said some of my nails fell off, which isn't true. None of this was said to me, but was said to the friend I came with that frequents this salon, who was sitting in the other room doing a pedicure. Specifically what was said to her about me was, "I heard she said her nails came off. If she didn't like them then why did she come back? Why did she come back?" Which is wild considering I never said that and they either misheard me or misunderstood what I had said. Either way if they did misunderstand me, they could have asked me instead of rudely confronting my friend. Of course my friend will tell me when someone is talking about me because that was uncalled for. But as a customer providing business to the salon, again, it being my second time here, I am appalled that I was spoken about in this manner. It's distasteful and I'm disappointed because I genuinely loved the way my nails came out today, and couldn't stop complimenting the woman who was doing my nails, alongside a tip. I will unfortunately not be coming back because of the attitude of some of the staff, and how they choose to speak about their customers.

And beyond the stamp, it was the willingness to compromise principle over something so small. If integrity is negotiable over something this small, what else is? Not worth going back. Update: The guy called back and apologized, which in itself shows integrity. We're all human and not immune to mistakes. That goes a long way. The issue was never really about the stamps, but the principle and integrity behind it. The fact that he took the time to call and apologize redeemed that for me. Because of that, I do plan to go back again.

I booked an appt for Saturday morning right as they open. I was very excited. The place actually looked nice and seemed clean, but the tech was horrible. I believe her name was Sena (or Senna). She was rude, rough, heavy-handed, and rushed, scolded me for moving or not moving my thumb, for not knowing the terms for different nail shapes, etc. She kept grunting the entire time and did not listen to what I was asking or requesting. She was pretty hostile the entire time. Not exactly the spa experience I was hoping for. :(
