If this is how new patients are treated before they even walk through the door, I have serious concerns about the overall quality of care at this office. Craig seems to genuinely dislike working with people, which raises the question -- why is he answering phones at a medical practice? Front desk staff are the first point of contact and represent the entire practice. Craig's behavior is damaging to Dr. Brookinghalt's reputation. I strongly recommend the management review how patients are being treated by this individual.

Dr. Brookenthal ordered an X-ray, which revealed what he believed was a cyst on my son's ilium. He told us it was nothing to be concerned about, but because he knew I would still worry, he provided an order for an MRI as a courtesy along with a CD containing the X-rays so they could be correlated with the MRI. Fortunately, I was able to schedule the MRI fairly quickly. However, when we arrived at the radiology department, we were informed that the CD we had been given belonged to a completely different patient. Not only was I given someone else's medical records, but it also meant that someone else potentially had my son's records. This was a serious breach of patient privacy and extremely upsetting. I immediately contacted the office and insisted that the correct CD be delivered to the radiology center so my son's MRI could proceed as planned. Hours later, I received a call from Dr. Brookenthal. Rather than apologizing for the mistake or acknowledging the seriousness of the privacy issue, he focused on the fact that the X-ray had led to the discovery of the lesion, as though that somehow outweighed the error that had occurred. To make matters worse, the "cyst" we were told was nothing to worry about was ultimately determined not to be a cyst at all. It turned out to be something that does require concern and further evaluation. Fortunately, because I work in the medical field, I have a better understanding of what findings warrant further investigation, and I have the opportunity to consult with other physicians and imaging specialists. Thanks to those connections, I was able to have my son evaluated by an orthopedic oncologist without unnecessary delay. I recognize that not every parent has that knowledge or access and may rely solely on the reassurance they receive. This experience reinforced the importance of advocating for yourself and your family and seeking a second opinion when something doesn't feel right. While I appreciate that the initial X-ray led to the discovery of the lesion, the mishandling of medical records, the lack of accountability, and the dismissive response to both the privacy breach and the seriousness of the diagnosis left me deeply disappointed. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Brookenthal and his clinic. Patient privacy, accountability, careful communication, and appropriate follow-up are fundamental aspects of quality medical care, and unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations.

That's after waiting for six weeks, which, for a bicep tear is on the outside of when it should be affective. Now as a result of delay after delay and excuse after excuse, instead of having a small 2 inch scar I have a giant, Frankenstein looking scar in the middle of my arm. Now, three months later, I'm trying to do my follow up post-op appointment. And for the second week in a row, it was canceled. The second time, they didn't even bother to notify me so I had to drive all the way out there only to find a waiting room full of people, all, asking the same questions: where the hell is the doctor? The excuse was, he had an emergency surgery in the morning. But this was 3:30 in the afternoon and they still didn't bother to call any of us. Everyone there is very polite, and always apologetic, which they wouldn't need to do if they actually just did their job (you know, like actually notifying patients when the doctor isn't even there and needs to cancel.). So, if this is your only option, then I guess you have to take it. But their communication is absolutely terrible. NOT RECOMMENDED.
