Front desk needs customer service re-training. They answer the call without a verbal acknowledgement of the office or for keeping patients on hold for over 9 minutes. First ring and they put you right on hold immediately skipping any formalities. Front desk is an essential part of the service. I dislocated my elbow mountain biking at mammoth. After the local ER reduced it, they told me to call an orthopedist. A close friend of mine (who happened to be riding with me) recommended Dr Scott. I called his office and he squeezed me in the same day we were driving back from the mountains. He scheduled the MRI for me 10 minutes after my visit with him (conveniently located in his building), had the test read by a radiologist as well as reviewed it with a colleague hand expert the following afternoon. That evening he called me with the good (thankfully) news. I could not be more happy with his professionalism, kindness, and sense of urgency. I could not recommend this doctor more highly.....and, I can't think of any doctor who would go to these lengths in such a short amount of time! read more

AVOID THIS OFFICE AT ALL COSTS - RUDE, INCOMPETENT, AND COMPLETELY DISRESPECTFUL This doctor and his entire staff are an absolute disgrace. From start to finish, my experience here was nothing but rudeness, arrogance, and a complete lack of professionalism. They act like they're doing you a favor just by existing, when in reality, they're nothing but an overhyped, dismissive, and completely unhelpful excuse for a medical practice. Let's start with the fact that they don't respect your time. I was scheduled for a call with the doctor to review my MRI results. I begged to come into the office in person because, you know, it's my health and I wanted a real conversation, but they flat-out refused. Fine. I waited for my scheduled phone call between 4 and 5 PM. No one called. So at 4:45, still within the scheduled time, I called the office to ask what was going on. Their response? "Oh, the doctor already called you." Excuse me? No, he didn't. I had my phone on me the entire time. Not a single missed call. No voicemail. Nothing. And instead of acknowledging their mistake, they doubled down and lied. So I said, "Okay, no problem--can you put him on the phone now since it's still within the window?" Their response? "No, he's gone for the day." GONE? Are you serious? You schedule an appointment, don't follow through, and then just disappear like my time is worthless? I asked them to page him and have him call me back immediately. Again, they refused. They told me he would call me tomorrow. No urgency, no care, just a shrug and a 'not our problem' attitude. How unbelievably unprofessional. The staff at this office is a joke. They act like they're above you, as if being a receptionist at a doctor's office makes them some kind of medical royalty. News flash: you're not important. You're an employee at a doctor's office, and your job is to help patients--not talk down to them, dismiss them, or act like they don't matter. The arrogance is truly unreal. And the doctor? Even worse. How dare you take an oath to care for patients and then completely disregard them like this? You chose this profession, yet you clearly have no interest in actually doing your job. At the end of the day, you're just another doctor--one of thousands in this city. You're not special, and your office is not special. The difference is, there are plenty of other doctors out there who actually respect their patients and don't treat them like an afterthought. I promise you, I'll be taking my business elsewhere--and I suggest everyone else do the same. If you want a doctor who actually gives a damn, look elsewhere. read more

I have never been happier with a specialist visit. They got our 4 year old in after fracturing his forearm and I immediately loved the whole team. Dr Scott's bedside manner is wonderful and he enthusiastically chatted with our son about bugs and animals to the point that he barely flinched when they reset his arm. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Scott and his office. Sadly, I have had to visit him numerous times, for myself, husband and athlete daughter. Every single time I have had a wonderful experience scheduling an appointment, and his front office is friendly and efficient. However, even if they weren't, I would go just to see him and here is why. He is a former D1 athlete and father of children who play sports. He never approaches his patients from a "holier than though" perspective, but takes his professional knowledge and gives you a pragmatic solution. I personally had a persistent ACL issue, and he gave me numerous options to try and figure out how I could best live with this and ultimately referred me to an amazing surgeon. My daughter is a competitive athlete and has had numerous injuries that have affected her ability to play in big games/tournaments. He has always given us advice that helped her get back to play as quickly and safely as possible. He takes the time to understand the big picture, and I will go back to him and have referred numerous friends and family to him because I trust him 10000%. read more

I went to Dr. Scott for shoulder pain & wound up with cortisone injections which really helped. He also insisted that I not only go to physical therapy but to continue with the exercises to strengthen my shoulders. Dr. Scott has an extremely busy practice so I also saw his PA Diana. Thanks to the Yelp community, I found Dr. Scott! I broke my arm, specifically my ulna, and desperately looked for an orthopedist after getting X-rays done at an urgent care. I was able to be seen the very next day. I was able to park on the street right in front of Cedar Sanai but there is a parking structure which they will validate for you. Dr. Scott's office is shared with several other doctors and I must say they have very safe protocols due to covid. You are asked a few questions, given hand sanitizer, a new mask (I just place it over mine) and your temperature is taken. Social distancing is enforced as well. Dr. Scott is simply the best. I never broke a bone before so I was extremely nervous and he was able to calm my nerves. He has great bedside manner and is calming and informative altogether. With his guidance, my arm recovered nicely with no surgery needed! After a month, I was able to do light upper body workouts and am slowly getting my groove back now. Thanks, doc! Hopefully I'll never be back but I would definitely recommend Dr. Scott to whoever may need an orthopedist. read more

Things were going well until I then sat and waited to be seen for the next hour. No one came in to see me or even give me an update so I left. I would say this is county hospital quality care but the county hospital at least tells you it's gonna be a while. read more

At least for my experience, he didn't explain anything, didn't go over X-rays, didn't connect with me, didn't let me go over any of my issues, brought 2 strangers in without my permission, proceeded to push and pull my limbs around without my description of the pain. I came here to get my knee checked up. The doctor is great and has time to answer any questions you might have but the receptionist is very rude and unprofessional. They billed me for a full price consultation after I gave them all my insurance information. It turned out to be a big hassle to get it fixed , just because they were too busy talking among themselves rather than paying attention to what they were doing. read more

My first visit didn't go exactly as planned. There was an unusual and lengthy delay--an hour and a half. I stayed bc I had heard great things about Dr. Scott, the office looks stellar, and the front office and assistant were great. Front office people and assistants can really make or break an office. These ladies were pleasant, fast, organized, dispensed correct info to patients left and right and over the phone. The X-ray tech was great--friendly, quick. The back looked busy and efficient. Dr.Scott did not keep me waiting in the exam room. He came in with with an outstanding bedside manner, a diagnosis and a plan to send me off pain free. Skip urgent care and come here immediately! Dr. Joshua Scott and his team are all amazing! My 3.5 year old fractured his leg and was in a lot of pain. I called them at 3:30 pm on a Friday and they saw us immediately. We originally went to urgent care, they didn't know what was wrong, sent us home, and suggested we called a specialist. After a lot of wasted time, we called Dr. Scott. They looked at the X-ray and immediately knew what was wrong. Every individual working in this establishment is absolutely wonderful, kind, welcoming, and professional. My sons leg is now diagnosed, braced, and most importantly he is not in nearly as much pain!!! He would have been in so much pain all weekend if they didn't let us come in immediately. We can't tell you how much we adore Dr. Scott! Not only is he personal and engaging with both of our children- but he always knows exactly how to find out where they are hurting. For example, when our kids were young, they didn't report that they were in pain after an apparent sports injury- but Dr. Scott was able to surmise that by watching their eyes he was able to detect a slight squint that they would do when they were in pain. He let us know what to look for when they get injured in the future as they have a higher pain threshold. He is conservative in his treatment methods and clinically spot on! read more

I like Dr. Scott a lot and have been a patient for years. However, his office requires patients to arrive 15 minutes before their appointment time, then he keeps patients waiting an additional 45 minutes before he sees you. This has happened every time I've been to the office on Ventura. My time is just as valuable as his, but it's frustrating that I have to waste 1 hour of my time waiting to see the doctor while I can hear him talking to the nurses in the hallway (today is was about a meal the nurse prepares that the doctor enjoys). To add insult to injury, the office does not validate parking which is very expensive. read more

A little over a year ago, I received a total Reverse Shoulder Replacement by Dr. Clint Soppe in Santa Monica. (formerly Santa Monica Orthopedic, now Cedars-Sinai). The surgery was very successful. However, following a recent major move, I was experiencing a great deal of discomfort. My shoulder rebelled against all of the lifting I was doing. I called Dr. Soppe's office to ask about seeing someone closer to my new home and I was referred to Dr. Josh Scott. Dr. Scott is a treasure. He is easy to talk to, never made me feel rushed and after viewing my X-rays quickly understood my issues and referred me for physical therapy.
