His knowledge and understanding of physical therapy and the human body is beyond impressive. But, equally important, is that he is able to relay this information so well. I felt so empowered with each visit, learning more about my condition, how it came about (something I never would have guessed or figured out on my own), how to remedy it as well as prevent reoccurrence. It was not a "one size fits all" situation. 5 Stars are not Enough!!!…read more I am forever thankful and grateful to Arlen and his incredible team at the Disability Rehabilitation Center! Arlen truly facilitated a miracle for me, thank God--no exaggeration. Three top LA orthopedic surgeons gave me a bleak prognosis: even with diligent physical therapy, I'd likely lose at least 50% of the range of motion (ROM) in my left arm and shoulder. But under Arlen's expert care--and with the wonderful support from his team: Diana, Daniella, and Masa--I've regained 100% ROM. If not for them, I'd be facing permanent, severe limitations. In May 2021, I shattered my left humerus in three places: one clean break about 1" above my elbow, another parallel break 1" below my shoulder, and a 1cm displaced fracture at the apex (a shard of bone sticking out, with the bone smashed at the base). I consulted three top sports orthopedic surgeons. The first said surgery was needed immediately but admitted he lacked the expertise for such complexity and referred me to his associate. She couldn't do it either--it would require a full surgical team and facility she didn't have. Finally, Dr. Patterson, the leading arm and shoulder specialist at USC Keck, evaluated me. Five weeks post-injury, he strongly advised against surgery due to high risks: potential rejection of repair materials could lead to bone death and possible amputation, given the poor blood supply to the area. He was blunt: even if I did physical therapy diligently, I'd still lose at least 50% ROM. I refused to accept that. I told him I planned to have children someday and would lift them over my head. He interrupted, insisting I needed "realistic expectations!" I let it go in one ear and out the other, vowing to prove him wrong. Arlen's hands-on approach made all the difference. From the start, he massaged and gently manipulated my arm to retrain it into proper alignment. He created very specific, tailored exercises for me to do between our two weekly sessions. His technique was precise and intuitive--I could feel in real time how crucial each movement was. Arlen is kind, warm, attentive, never rushes me, and always encourages me like a world-class coach cheering from the sidelines.The entire team--Diana, Daniella, and Masa--are so wonderful. Diana is Arlen's second in command, the most experienced, and truly amazing but a shout out to Daniella and Masa too! They are always professional, supportive, and make every visit positive and motivating. Even now, almost 5 years later, I'm still going once per week to maintain my full ROM and manage ongoing pain--that's how serious and life-altering this injury was and still is. Arlen and his team continue to provide the guidance and care I need to stay strong and active. The highlight? My final appointment with Dr. Patterson. I demonstrated full overhead motion by pretending to scoop up and lift a running child. His jaw dropped, and he said, "That is miraculous." Arlen and his team didn't just help me recover--they gave me back my future and keep supporting it. I had been going here for over four weeks for my left shoulder rotator cuff tear. I was making…read moreprogress, but this is a horribly unprofessional place, and I finally quit for many reasons. The top six reasons are: 1. The place was filthy every time -- overflowing trash cans, and crap and litter and scraps of paper all over the floor as though it was never cleaned or vacuumed. 2. Each of the three PT aides kept giving me different and conflicting instructions for each of the exercises. The instructions should be clear and consistent, but they were not. 3. None of the aides seemed to know what I was supposed to do -- every single time I was there, they asked me what I was working on and how many reps, etc. Isn't it written down in a patient chart? They should be the ones who should know and oversee and guide me as to what I am supposed to be doing. 4. After three weeks, the lead PT (Arlen Minassian) made it clear he did not want to work with me anymore, and he suggested that PT may not be right for me since I was still in pain, and he said I should return to my doctor for a cortisone shot instead. But wouldn't I need more than just three weeks to heal from a tear in the tendon? I thought I was making progress, but it felt like he was kicking me out. 5. The lead PT (Arlen) told me to stop one exercise before it hurt -- he insisted that I should feel no pain at all during it and to stop and pull back if it hurt at all. Twenty minutes later, he said I need to work through the pain to have any progress. So which is it? Then he stopped the aides from giving me manual manipulation (a deep massage) in the area, which had felt really good, and he never gave a reason why. 6. The final straw -- They scheduled three patients at the same time on a day with just one PT aide, and she worked the entire hour on one patient. She first hooked me up to a TENS unit and then left me for over an hour as she worked on someone else. As I was attached to all the leads, I could not even stand up or do anything else. I sat there for an hour and twenty minutes waiting and finally said I was leaving. She then hurried over and removed the leads, and I did a few exercises and then left. I canceled my next appointment, and I'm now done with them. I do NOT recommend this place. Please be careful where you go and check them out.

Tim took care of me on first visit, and literally, stopped the Vertigo, gently using the Epley maneuver. Went back next day and met with Zack. He has given me exercises to strengthen my balance. This whole experience is beyond words! Knowledge, caring, listening to me, on and on about this center!!

On this particular day, I was introduced to a physical therapist named Alex, a first-time interaction, who said he would be applying heating patches as part of my treatment. I consented to that procedure. What followed was not that. Without warning or consent, Alex reached beneath my clothing, stretched my underwear away from my body, and inserted his fingers into my backside. I was in shock. I froze. And like so many women who have been conditioned to stay quiet, to not cause a scene, to not make things uncomfortable for the people who harm them, I walked out of that clinic in silence. That silence ends here. I called the clinic days later and spoke with the manager, Beatrice. She offered an apology that felt cold and dismissive. She then requested that I come in for a face-to-face meeting with Alex present. As a survivor of sexual violence who has spent years healing from the shame and guilt that was placed on me by others, I could not subject myself to that. That request alone speaks volumes about how this situation was handled. I am a rape survivor. I know what it costs to speak. I am speaking anyway. I am filing a formal complaint with the California Physical Therapy Board and working with my family's attorney. Alex should be held accountable. And anyone within this organization who chose to protect him over the patient he violated should be equally ashamed. No more hushing.

Each time I have been a patient at PT West, my specific conditions have been assessed brilliantly, and personalized treatment plans have been created for each situation. I was originally referred to PT West by a family friend when I was looking for a new clinic. It is always great to have a personal referrence. Lucky for me, the location is very close to where I live, and I'm so glad that I found it. The first time that I was a patient, I had been given a particular diagnosis after an MRI. I was dealing with bad pain and came to PT West for several weeks without much improvement. I was doing everything that I was told to do, but there was no improvement. Well, my great physical therapist thought that maybe my diagnosis wasn't the cause of the issue after working with me, and it was suggested getting a second opinion. Well...I did that and it ended up leading me down the correct path that was needed! After two surgeries, I have been coming to PT West for PT, and everyone at the clinic is great! I love everyone at the front desk...they are super helpful and kind. Big shout outs to Abby and Darlene! My amazing therapist is Jiggs, and he is someone that I have gotten to know well over the years. He is a top-notch professional and I trust him implicitly. The PT Aides are super helpful, and I truly love each one! In addition to the great treatment that patients receive, I have to shout out one other thing. Parking is validated in a covered parking structure. So many healthcare providers no longer provide parking, so this perk is one that I love. I had to have two knee replacements for the same knee!…read more Unfortunately, my surgeon put the wrong knee in! This is not the reason for this review. I have been going to North Valley Physical Therapy since the first knee. Due to my many surgeries l have been to many physical therapy centers throughout the years. The other places were ok. They got the job done. But here at North Valley Physical Therapy, they have been so amazing! They go so far above and beyond any other place in my experience! The owner, Karla Kazimir, is very hands on! Her staff is very compassionate and patient making it their goal to get you up and moving with such dedication and skill! This is a wonderful business for sure but while l have been coming here for these last few months, it feels more like family!

West Hills Location…read more I was referred here for neck and back issues from a slip and fall. This place is not like any other PT place. I was at another place but felt like just a number. I truly love the personalized care and focus on my multitude of issues that I have. They addressed all my issues and always asking me about my well-being during and after each excercise. The people that work here are very sweet and professional. So far, I worked with David #1 and Henry. I cannot stress this enough, I feel like I am in good hands with them. I highly recommend this facility for knee, back and shoulder injuries since that is my program. I cannot speak for any other program to be fair.
