I absolutely love this coffee shop! I work at the dance studio that's in the same mall, and it is wonderful to be able to run in and grab a quick drink or snack. The staff is always lovely, the food and drinks are stellar, and the atmosphere is very calm. It can be quite busy, especially when they have bands playing, but they always do their best to get you in quickly. And even if it is busy, there is plenty of seating. I would technically give Bru 3.5 stars, but I liked that it is a good space and conducive to solo working or conversation with friends. The egg bagel sandwich, though, used liquid eggs from a carton, which is always disappointing when you have a menu section for breakfast. It was also way too thin without enough cheddar and felt like I was mostly eating a bagel :( It's nice that there is ample parking around the area. read more

If you can traverse the torn up, Wild West-style road in downtown Cortland to get to this beer and coffee brew pub, then Bru 64 is a delightful place to grab a coffee or a beer. In contrast to the exterior, the inside is very modern. There are several seating areas to sit down with friends, and with separate beer and coffee bars, it's easy to discover your new davorite drink. Our party had a dirty chai, a fudgecicle smoothie, and a pomegranate milk tea. We all thought every drink tasted great! I would recommend a visit. read more

I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. I really like this place. It has a great feel to it. I love the wood and metal decor. Also the idea of the coffee shop/ beer and wine bar. If this was in my town I would be here all the time. So After my praise of how much I like this place I am sure you are wondering why the 3 stars and not four or five? I struggled with giving it 3 stars but did it because The flatbread was a little disappointing. I saw that it had a spicy marinara and I love spice. It was not spicy and the sausage was lacking. I should have ordered a bagel sandwich as I saw a few of those go by and they looked bomb. The iced green tea was very good. I will come back for sure. I was in town for work, and stopped here for a couple hours. I ordered a medium latte and chocolate chip muffin. The muffin was pretty sweet - so if you like a ton of chocolate chips this is the muffin for you! The latte was very good, and best of all, a great deal for the size! Even after the ice melted in my car during the day, I finished it all a couple hours later...so it was that good. The music was also a plus for me - a couple throwbacks here and there, and it made it easy to work. There is ample seating and some outlets, and best of all a ton of natural light. When I lived near Cortland, this was my go to place about 2-3 times per week after work. Their beer selection is the best in town, and around town. Despite all of the breweries and places to get a drink even in Ithaca, the selection and quality of the selection here isn't matched until you go to Skaneatles. The staff is wonderful and super knowledgeable about what they serve. I'd normally deduct a star for the snack food being pretty average, but they've recently expanded their menu, and their breakfast sandwiches are just perfect. read more

Medium foam head with some glass lacing Smell - one thing that always stands out to me with beers is that they smell fresh. The aroma hits the nose first, with apple and pineapple, some pine. You can tell there is a decent amount of malt, quite sweet. Quite different than the average red ale. Lots of malt makes it very sweet, but it is well balanced there is some decent bitterness levels, especially in the finish. Carbonation is only medium and body is medium-heavy. read more

It's lowkey here. A quiet mix between a cafe, a trendy pubaria and dive-bar music venue. They're coffee by day, craft beer and live music by night. The beer menu is diverse, likely the most varied and exotic in Cortland. I didn't see many cocktails, but it's not that type of place really. It was an alt-vibe going, somewhat hipster without being pretentious (as much as one can be hipster in a place such as cortland). My bagel was not especially notable. In fact, it was a far cry from "good." Oh well. The atmosphere here is what sold me on four stars, far more so than the food. Students come here to do homework, and they often have local bands around to play. There's an intimate, isolated room in the back that's much quieter than out front. This place is beyond underrated. If you haven't checked it out, go now! The staff is extremely personable and they seem to have a bunch of regulars. They remember your faces and welcome you whenever you come back. There's a decent coffee selection and it's in my opinion, better than coffee mania! But what's better than the coffee/alcohol choices is the food. Try the warm pretzels, buffalo chicken dip, Mac and cheese, or a breakfast sandwich! You can't go wrong with whatever you choose. This place does get a crowd though so plan accordingly! I love the setting, it's a nice contrast to the Cortland downtown scene. read more

What gem of a place! We ventured off the freeway for a quick breakfast bite, and I am so glad we checked this place out! The interior design is very inviting and family friendly, yet hip and looks like a fun place for a casual date and hanging out with friends. I no longer live in Cortland, but I come back home to visit my family often. I used to enjoy going to Blue Frog Cafe, the prior coffee shop at 64 Main Street, and I was sad when it left. However, I couldn't be happier with its replacement. -First, the place is beautiful. Like, really beautiful. Also, the bathrooms: SPARKLING! Bru looks like a coffee shop you'd see in NYC or Chicago. -Second, the staff is very sweet. -Third, there is plentiful food options and everything I've tried- bagels, waffle sticks, croissant, cookies- have all been delicious. -Fourth, I'm a freelancer, so being able to work on the WiFi there is important to me. Bru has several seats with electrical outlets. Their guest WiFi was down for a few days, but hopefully it's back up! Fifth, I've seen the owner/manager there every day, and he's always talking to people and helping out, which says a lot. Sixth, it's important that Cortland has these hangout spots, and I think Bru fits that need perfectly. I'm so excited that Bru is in Cortland and I hope it enjoys many, many years of success! read more
