Disappointed. I have been eating Brown's Chicken all of my life. The chicken pieces are shrinking.

Chicken sandwich is one of the best. Fried mushrooms are excellent. Service was timely and all food was perfect temperature.

What on Earth is wrong with Browns and the people who work there man ?! I ordered a 3 piece tender with fries and a Biscuit and they forgot my fries and my biscuit and instead gave me a stale piece of Cornbread. Can they not read??? Terrible. Growing up Brown's Chicken restaurants were plentiful, today they're a lot harder to find. Thank goodness for Yelp and being able to find the location in Naperville. Our order was simple, a four piece meal, white meat only with fries and onion rings as the sides. The staff was friendly and the order was fulfilled promptly. The chicken crust was crispy and the meat was moist, hot and nicely seasoned. The fries and onion rings were cooked the way we like them, crispy and not over cooked. It was definitely worth the ride and we would gladly return. read more

Need to so something about the overwhelming cigarette odor at the Naperville location. Maybe the employee just got back for a cigarette break or something? Ordered 3-piece white meat, a side of green beans, a small overcooked corn bread roll and a small Diet Pepsi for dinner last night based on a friend's recommendation. Over $13. There were two tiny wings, the green beans were in a very tiny container, the chicken breast was quite bland tasting. I asked for a refill for my drink and the female employee rolled her eyes but eventually refilled it. Store decor is shabby and worn, music too loud and outdated. Never going back. Wow, this place used to be a go to chicken place but this place has gone down significantly. One of my favorite things to get here were the biscuits because they used to be buttermilk biscuits and the chicken was dry and overcooked. It was a sign that we sat there for a half hour, eating our dinner and not a single person came in to eat. This one star rating goes to the people who served us at the restaurant because they were extremely friendly and patient for our order. Browns doesn't skimp you on the tenders. I think they might have the largest tenders of all the chicken places I have ever tried. Their chicken sandwich was also one of the best I have had. Great breading and flavor they use. You won't go wrong with this Chicago original! read more

This place doesn't have the best reviews, but I didn't think it was too bad. It's a very small place, but it was clean on the inside and it's in a great location. You can get in and out pretty easily. They have a huge menu with things like hot dogs, sausages, italian beef, and of course chicken. The meal deals are great. You can get a sandwich like chicken parm, meatballs, italian beef, whatever you want, with a side, and a 16 oz drink for under 7 bucks. That's what's up. Although I love Portillo's dearly....it's like 7 bucks for a single sandwich there. Expensive (and yet so delicious)! But if you don't have a preference and you're looking for a cheap meal, this is your spot. The sides are all pretty much sourthern comfort foods like mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, hush puppies, etc. The drinks do not come with free refills, so keep that in mind when dining in. It's 50 cents per refill which is pretty lame. Who charges for refills anymore? Today I ordered the italian beef sandwich with extra hot peppers (at the time I didn't know about being charged for refills....fml). It was a really great sandwich. The bread was soft, the beef was tender, the peppers were hot as hell, and the juice from the beef was very well seasoned and also really spicy. Normally it's a little over 5 bucks, but each day of the week they run specials and today was 4 dollar italian beef day. Hooray! My husband ordered the maxwell polish street sausage. It came with onions and mustard and he enjoyed it. I think it was a little over 3 bucks. My only complaint (aside from no free refills) was the customer service. The young girl at the counter was rude and acted like it was a hassle to take our order. Didn't bother to say hi or anything, just stared at us blankly until we said what we wanted to eat. So rude. Called into restaurant and they put us on hold saying they are very busy. After sitting on hold for 15 mins just gave up. Fool me twice, shame on me. The chicken is still good, and I like the cole slaw. In recent years the corn fritters are not made to order; instead made ahead and reheated in a microwave. That reheating process toughens the fritters. Today they were not just tough, they were actually hard and parts were not edible. The person who took our order today accidentally rang up and included an extra of a side. He may be new on the job. After this when the total is much higher than expected, I will ask the counter person to confirm the items in the order. UPDATE: I called the next morning to discuss what I ordered the night before. The owner was apologetic. She said she would speak to staff about the issues I brought up. I was told I may specifically ask for corn fritters to be made fresh to order. To compensate me for the less than great experience, she sent me a gift certificate. I am very pleased with her response. read more

An ongoing experiment testing whether customer service matters. The food here is decent (for fast food), the prices are reasonable, everything else is a trainwreck. The restaurant itself isn't clean (despite not having a lot of eat in customers tables are frequently dirty and the men's room is vile), service response is slow at counter and drive thru (5-10 minutes typically with no one in front of you) and management clearly doesn't care. On 3 occasions there has been a major mistake in my order, having worked in fast food and knowing that these things happen I've calmly brought up the issue at the front desk. Zero times have I received any apology, one time the manager yelled from the back "wipe it off" about the wrong condiment having been put on a sandwich, another time I was told "ok what do you want me to do about it?", and another time I got to have 2 different people not apologize or say anything nice on the call before being told "all I can do is send you a credit that'll get there in a few days." Every time I was made to feel by the person receiving the call and the manager like an annoying imposition. Terrible way to run a business. read more

Chicken was over cooked and rubbery, mashed potatoes were solid like they had been sitting out for hours, even though I ordered my food right after they opened. Lets start with the kid behind the counter, not good, in fact bad, throwing condiments and not taking orders correctly, when you are in a hurry-doing it again is not an option, especially with his unapologetic attitude... Beef and Sausage sandwich, tasted like old freezer burned tough beef and an unimpressive meat tube, it was chewy nasty and wrong, the chicken was not what it should be, salty, tough and unfortunate... I am really surprised by the poor reviews. I grew up on Brown's Chicken and over the years I have been disappointed with the franchise as a whole. At most locations the food lacks freshness and its historical taste. This location is different. The chicken was very tasty and fresh. The staff was pleasant and efficient. Others commented on the cleanliness of this facility. At the time of my visit it was incredibly clean. I wish other Browns Chickens would follow the lead of this location. read more

It did take a little bit of time for the order -not more than 10 minutes or so, but I do appreciate the food was made to order! Sometimes we just need a fried chicken fix, but I think this visit was truly my last. The deep-fried coating on the chicken had an off taste, like the oil in the fryer hadn't been changed in awhile.
