I made the decision to order our party of 4 the Family Platter with medium chicken and the new Paradise Peri sauce for the chicken thigh skewers. For sides, we did fries, Brussels sprouts, and rice. The teenager wanted a chicken sandwich so I ordered her a kid's meal with a side of garlic bread + an extra side of mac and cheese. The service was helpful, I needed a to go box and was hand delivered a box, a foil bag for the garlic bread, and a bag to hold every thing! Most things are self serve, like the fountain drinks and sauces. The ambiance is nice enough--you can see the food being prepared which is interesting. There is themed music being piped in. I visited this location after five years, and I was impressed with the upgraded menu. The Naperville downtown area is so charming and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a night out. We went on a Friday night, and although it was busy, the 30-minute wait to be seated was worth it. I ordered the peri-peri grilled chicken, which also had a 30-minute wait, but trust me--it was absolutely worth it! We went for the spiciest option, and it was amazing. We have been coming for years and enjoy the food. Especially in nicer weather when we can sit on the nice patio. The last two visits, including today the level of service has really degraded. We dine out often and are very aware and tolerant of the labor shortage. Last time we had a long wait to be greeted as the three workers huddled in the kitchen looking at one cell phone. Food took a long time to be delivered and other tables received theirs first even after ordering well after we had. Today we tried again. We seemed to be interrupting the worker social time. Loud talking and calling out to each other across the restaurant. We used the app to order and saw our food in the warmer and had to ask two talking workers if we could get our beverages. We stopped in for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away. The ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. We ordered a half chicken with medium peri peri sauce, the sweet potatoes, golden cauliflower, and mac n cheese sides. The chicken is moist and flavorful. Medium sauce is just right for me where I can still enjoy the flavor of the food, and the heat seemed to build throughout the meal. There are other sauce flavors you can try as well. DOUBLE DIPPER Nando's magical Peri-naise is a most worthy condiment. My wife loves Nando's, perhaps even more than I do (and I'm quite the fan). Back when we lived in Oak Park, we used to hit up the Nando's there on a regular basis. Now, the closest options are Oak Brook mall and this spot in downtown Naperville. It's right off of Washington St, easy to miss. Even though I probably shouldn't, I still get the spiciest thing on the menu - a thigh in their 'extra hot'. My wife enjoyed her 1/2 chicken brushed with mango-lime sauce ($18). The mashed potatoes were fine, but as always the fries + Peri-naise (spicy mayo) get a gold star. I got a kids meal ($6.50) for the wee lad, and he happily devoured his fries. I brought a voucher for a free ¼ chicken that caused a headache at the register. Despite getting "three of these earlier (today)", the staff had no idea how to process this, and the manager eventually rang it up as a BOGO entrée item. Hopefully it wasn't a bogus coupon......hey wait a minute, I got that from a Yelp event! * TL;DR * I still sing the praises of Nando's; one snafu isn't going to derail our relationship with these fine purveyors of poultry. Between in-person events and takeout offers, Nando's Naperville has graciously hosted Yelpers on more than one occasion. The staff are pretty friendly and the food is consistently tasty. I dig the wide variety of sauces they have, plus the restaurant ambiance is wonderful. Oh, and Peri-naise = nirvana. However, on this past visit I waited an awfully long time at the register (~10 minutes), plus I asked for utensils yet they forgot to include them. They also forgot to give me the kids drink, but that's not as big of a deal. And what's going on with that $2 "service charge" on my receipt, hmmmm?? It's nice to know you can always add more sauce to your platter after the fact, but I'm usually good with how the kitchen does it! Besides the fresh, never frozen chicken, the sides also set Nando's Peri-Peri apart from other chicken establishments. The macho peas are very distinct and is a mash of peas, parsley, mint and chili. Second time at a Nando's peri peri. First visit was in oak park and this was the Naperville location. I came for a yelp Elite event and purchased a whole table full of trys. The thing I loved about the menu before I came was the vegetarian and vegan options. They have a veggie burger and I got the grilled sweet potato in a grilled almost French bread bun. I took the cheese off ( I didn't recognize that name and quickly realized when I took a bite it was cheese. It came with a side and I upgraded for one more side. The meal itself was not hugely filling but it was very good. My family got the chicken and tried the other sauces. In the back there are other sauces to try. You pour into a plastic cup. The greatest thing is the sink to wash your hands after touching the bottles if you like. Which post pandemic is so normal to be thinking of germs on anything especially bottles. The fries were delicious and the rice was amazing. You don't get allot but it is really all you need. My family loved the chicken. 1/4 is w Pugh for someone who eats lightly but 1/2 I know I know it sounds like a ton is more for someone who wants to walk away feeling satisfied till their next meal. The prices are not inexpensive here. Pretty much what you pay these days, considering a burrito at chipotle is $10 this is about $15-20 for a full meal with 2 sides. It's a place that's very easy to pass by (especially with Naper Nuts and Sweets right next door), but do yourself a favor and stop in. The food is something different from the usual downtown Naperville fare and is very good. Some people might be put off ordering off of an app, but there are enough different ways to order the food that it's much easier than telling a server. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, the fries were fresh and crisp, and the sprouts were delicious as well. I liked how you could get extra sauces in addition to the one on your chicken. This is an update review today. The music was still too loud but I was ordering takeout. Well, when I took the food home I notice the bag seemed quite light though I ordered the chicken bowl and the crunch salad. Both items had chicken breasts that were extremely dry and hard to cut through even with a steak knife. The croutons were very hard as well. The "mixed greens" in the salad seemed like too much romaine lettuce. I can buy a $4 box at Jewel of mixed greens that blow this salad away. Finally visited Nando's Peri-Peri after recommendations from so many friends. This is located in Downtown Naperville in a very lively location. Free parking is available at 3 mins walking distance from this restaurant. The ambience was great and the service was amazing. You need to place your order at the counter and they will serve you the food. The server at the counter was very friendly and helped us in deciding our food options. The hummus with peri-peri drizzle is highly recommended. We really enjoyed this. Their plant based veggie burger was awesome. You can select your spice level - I am good with spicy food and tried the Hot option and it was really spicy. I would recommend medium spice even you love spicy food - you can add the sauces later. I wish someone would have greeted us to explain how the ordering and seating works tho. They have limited indoor seating on the main floor. Upstairs was closed so not sure how much more seating might be available. If you have a large party you will have to push a few tables together on the main floor. Ordered the wing appetizer which consisted of 6 wings flame grilled basted with their medium sauce. Not too spicy..just right. Also had the quarter of a chicken that came with seasoned fries. Both plates had a Spicey ranch for dipping..yummy! They also have a garlic sauce and a lemon herb sauce which we dipped our fries in and both were excellent. I've been to Nando's before in Chicago but recently got the opportunity to try their downtown Naperville location as part of a Yelp elite experience. We ordered a good amount of food to go. I had the quarter chicken breast with mango lime sauce. The chicken was very juicy and had a nice char to it. The fries were soggy, but I think they just didn't travel well on the 20 minute drive home. The peri ranch sauce was very good, leaving me want more! My husband had the 1/2 chicken extra hot. He said it was pretty spicy with a respectable level of spiciness. We tried the halloumi cheese fries, which came with a sweet Chilli jam. I really enjoyed them but maybe it's an acquired taste as my 2 year old tried & spit it out haha. We also got an order of 6 wings which were tasty. Meh, I hadn't been here in a while, and I was less impressed than in the past. For one thing, staff all seemed to assume that you know the ropes without asking, which is presumptuous because the way this place works (be seated by host, get back up to order, oh yeah don't forget to go get your utensils etc.) is not very fluid. My food (the wrap with yogurt dressing) was ok. I got the roasted corn as a side, but they really needed to do a better job of removing the silk from it; it was still way too hairy when it hit my plate. I ordered pineapple lemonade, but they were apparently out so I got the blood orange mango variety which wasn't nearly as good (and expensive, about $3.50 for a glass). They have some seasonal dishes and sides so you can see what's new for spring and summer, but I just wasn't wowed this time. I know they can do better. read more

This restaurant is located right down town Naperville. It was cleaned and organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are many different types of sauces (garlic, mild, hot, extra hot, ect). I ordered quarter size chicken breast, fried, and peaches tea. The chicken was well seasoned, moist, and tender. I love their mayonnaise sauce which goes well with the chicken.
