On a Sunday afternoon 12 noon in early November, my sister and I parked on the street to try new cream puffs. It's located in the apartment building next to jazz cat and across from Hawaii market. The bakery opens at 12noon Thursday to Sunday to 3pm. There were 2 ladies before us. Inside bakery is small with glass display of mini cream puffs of various flavors. They also sell plain croissants and chocolate croissants. We bought 8 pieces for $30. The husband and wife were in the kitchen baking with one cashier. Social media hyped up the choux, but it didn't quite live up to it for me. Unfortunately, the vanilla bean choux missed the mark for me. The crust lacked that signature crunch, and the filling didn't have a distinct vanilla bean flavor. Instead, it tasted just like the standard whipped cream you get at a traditional Asian bakery cake. On the bright side, the Dubai chocolate croissant was incredibly flaky and crunchy. While I enjoyed the pastry itself, I wished it had more kataifi and less pistachio cream; the cream was so thick that it was actually a bit hard to swallow. As someone who typically orders 0% to 30% sweetness, they NAILED their latte in terms of taste. There is a delicate note that comes with their coffee and the pistachio cream top perfectly complements it. The cream top itself is uniquely pistachio forward, and I appreciate the nuttiness in flavor and texture. I also had their Black Truffle Mushroom Danish. They top it with arugula when you order it. It is SO GOOD. I feel like truffle can overpower a dish and they nail it with it not being too much. The pastry is so flakey and delicate. The inside has a good bite and chew. I prefer savory pastries, and they thankfully do it well without being so salty! The owners truly know good balance in texture and nuance in flavor to highlight the star ingredients. It's a small shop but the girl was very friendly. I got dong ding oolong and matcha. Both are very delicious. It's a french style cream puff (choux) which not a lot of bakeries have so the price is pretty justified imo. The outside is crispy and the cream is filled until theres no hollow space inside. They are not too sweet which is a plus for me. Everything is very thoughtful here even the water cup is a fancier plastic cup. It was also very nice watching them handle the puffs gently and carefully. When we asked for a paper bag to separate she even cut them shorter so it's not annoying for us. The price is definitely very very steep especially considering that they're mini! I tried the blueberry - probably my favorite. It has a blueberry on top and the inside has blueberry jam and greek yogurt. The biscoff is my second favorite - it tastes like a cookie. The maple pecan was very very strong in flavor but I think paired with the cream, it was a tiny bit too much. The dong ding oolong was also very very strong in tea flavor. Service is nice, there's a free parking structure. They have drinks and other pastries as well. There's indoor bar seating and also 2 small tables outside in a shaded area. The Madagascar Vanilla was a very classic cream puff flavor. The maple pecan was very fragrant. Dark chocolate was the perfect level of chocolatey goodness without being overpowering. The Biscoff cookie was definitely special in my opinion. Price - $$$ - I paid $30 for 8 cream puffs. I know they are specialty and novelty so that is why it is expensive. I would say this is worth to at least try 1 time if you have the ability to. I wouldn't call these a MUST TRY, but I would say they are worth trying. The first time I came here, we got a set of 8 cream puffs for thanksgiving in 2025. We wanted some desserts to enjoy after our little thanksgiving dinner and it was delicious. The cream puffs were soft and creamy. The cream was smooth and light, not too sweet. They were still perfect to enjoy after putting it in the fridge for a couple hours. I couldn't pick a favorite. I wish they weren't closed for the first half of the week. When we finally found an opportunity to visit again in the days that they're open, we got a set of 4 cream puffs, 2 drinks, and a croissant. The cream puffs were still amazing. They had a new flavor this time. I tried their new lemon breeze, and it was definitely crisp and refreshing like they said. I love the flavor of the lemon being added to the espresso. It's perfect for a hot day. I hope they keep it and make it permanent on the menu. Their ice Americano was also refreshing and nicely roasted. Not bitter at all. Their lemon glazed almond croissant was perfect. I brought it home to eat for the next day. After toasting it in the oven, it came it really crispy still, flavor was still strong. I love that you can taste the lemon and the sweetness over the almond balanced out the lemon flavor. I'm genuinely surprised more people haven't written about Browned's lattes and drinks, they're some of the best I've had. My two favorites are the Pistachio Cream Top Latte and Black Sesame Cream Top Latte. Both are presented in clear cups that show an appealing gradient, starting with milk at the bottom, espresso in the middle and a silky cream top. Once mixed, the pistachio latte is slightly sweet with a smooth, nutty aroma that blends naturally into the latte. The black sesame latte has a deep, roasted profile with a subtle, fine sesame texture that blends surprisingly well with the coffee. I enjoy both so much that I switch between them depending on when I visit. Blueberry Ricotta Danish with Thyme & Honey My newest favorite item at Browned. The first bite starts with a crisp, delicate shatter, followed by the blueberry and ricotta that blend together for a creamy flavorful texture. Then there's a subtle hint of thyme and the honey drizzled on top adds just enough sweetness to finish each bite perfectly. It tastes fresh, complex and beautifully balanced. Dubai Chocolate Croissant Crispy and perfectly layered like all of their croissants, and is the sweetest one. It has a strong pistachio flavor from the creamy filling, paired with the drizzled chocolate on top with bits of crushed nuts to add texture. It stands out and is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. Dark Chocolate Pecan Pressed Croissant A pressed croissant with a clean crunch in every bite. The dark chocolate and the crushed pecans add both texture and flavor that compliments the croissant. I believe there are currently 8 cream puff flavors, all beautifully made and each flavor has its own personality but my absolute favorites are the Lemon Delight and Blueberry Heaven. The Lemon Delight is bright, tart and refreshing with a lightly crisp shell that balances the citrus filling perfectly. The Blueberry Heaven is just as delicious, with a single blueberry on top and filled with a smooth, subtly sweet cream that pairs wonderfully with the light crunch of the exterior. I find that these cream puffs make amazing gifts, perfect for meetings, family gatherings or gifting to friends. Everyone I've brought them to has really loved them. The service continues to be exceptional every time. Warm, attentive and genuinely caring, the kind of staff that always makes me smile when I visit. Went here today on a Friday at 2pm and everything was sold out. Not sure if it's THAT good or just poor inventory control. Since they open at 12...I am going to assume inventory control issues. It's located in The One plaza and has underground parking. Most shops are not open for business and under construction. Although not quite the shop's fault, because it's under construction, cords and things are laying around. Stopped by BROWNED and loved everything we tried. The pressed croissants were a highlight -- the plain and 58% dark chocolate were insanely good, especially dipped into coffee. The regular croissants was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and not greasy at all. The blueberry ricotta croissant was also amazing and perfectly balanced. The cream puffs were a must-try too -- not overly sweet, super light, and both the blueberry and Madagascar vanilla flavors were delicious. The drinks really stood out as well. The hazelnut coffee tasted like real hazelnut, not an overly sugary syrup, which was so refreshing. The Japanese black sesame was also amazing. The cream was light and smooth with a very strong tea flavour and a perfect amount of sweetness. The puff was easy to bite into and not overly thick or tough. Was going to share mine, but ended up buying a second one because it was too good to share. Wish they were a little bigger My only critique would be the speed. It did take a little longer to get my drinks. I would suggest not weighing each shot out and using multiple tools to tamp. I've had my fair share of sesame cream tops, but omg I was blown away by these two. You can actually taste the roast of the seeds and on top of that it has a rich sweetness. I ordered: the maple pecan chocolate coating, madagascar vanilla, rich koyamaen matcha, and taiwanese dong ding oolong tea. I can't tell you which one was my favorite becaues they were all SO GOOD in their own way. Nothing was too sweet, just the amount of sweetness level. I also picked up the buttery pressed croissant w/ dark chocolate and pecans and that was simple yet delicious. The mushroom truffle danish was the only savory thing I ordered and omg that was also everything I dreamed of.
