I needed a place to sit and get some work done. There are WiFi, outlets, and plenty of places to sit. The baristas are very friendly here. I think it's a nice and open space and very comfortable. I got a vanilla latte and it was excellent! I am absolutely coming here again when I need to wait for a bit in Orange and get work done.

My friend and I both ordered the iced mocha, and unfortunately, it was just okay. It tasted a bit watered down and could have used a stronger chocolate and espresso flavor. Wasn't worth the price in my opinion. The cafe itself is spacious, with plenty of seating both indoors and out on the patio. I also noticed several tables with conveniently placed outlets, making it a nice spot for studying or getting some work done. During my visit, there were quite a few people working on their laptops, so it seems to be a popular place to settle in for a while. As for the service, it wasn't particularly warm or welcoming. One of the baristas accidentally dropped something, creating a loud noise, and she was visibly frustrated and seemed like she didn't wanna be there which affected the overall atmosphere.

Really friendly customer service and the toast and drinks here are all top tier. Had the seasonal iced pumpkin spice latte and the iced golden latte and both were nice and usually golden lattes can be hit or miss but I really enjoyed mine. The espresso is full bodied but not bitter or too bold. My dad tried the Italian cappuccino versus the regular and we both agreed the Italian cappuccino is worth paying a little more for. The toast is very fluffy and the cinnamon swirl is perfect even with just butter. The seating is comfortable and spacious and the bathroom is clean. You can tell the owner is passionate about their craft and that the people who work here really love what they do!

I tried their matcha even though they are known for their coffee and didn't love the matcha. It was very milk heavy, and there was not much matcha flavor. The sweetness was good. Service was very fast and nice. Love that the cafe has lots of seating inside, so it would be a good place to study or work. They also have lots of bread you can buy, which looked very good. There's also a free parking lot right in front of the cafe.

Oh look, another coffee shop for me to check out! Brot is located close to Main Place mall so you can grab a little treat on your way to do some shopping! Inside is somewhat rustic/trendy with natural wood finishes and lots of seating for a small place. Parking is easy with a shared parking lot. As always, I was delighted to learn that they offer decaf coffee options. I grabbed a decaf iced vanilla latte, a classic, and also decided to try the T.O.M. with avocado. This is a toast creation that consists of rustic country bread, butter, olive oil, sliced tomatoes, diced mozzarella, and some seasonings. It seemed that they were a little short staffed today; there were 3 people working but the line was a bit slow. It wasn't a problem but I could feel the energy from the staff that maybe they were feeling the pressure. My drink was great; delicious, deep roasty coffee flavor without being heavy on the milk and sugar! Easily one of the better decaf coffees I have had. Maybe my taste buds are biased, but I could not tell by taste alone that this was decaf. The toast was awesome! The olive oil was such a nice touch. This was nearly caprese but not quite. Soft bread with a chewy crust, fresh tomatoes and avocado, and a punch of tasty olive oil to round it out. The perfect complement to my drink. They had a few options of bread loaves you can buy; someone was in there raving to another customer about the cinnamon loaf, which got me excited to try it! Maybe next time. And there will definitely be a next time.

Brot Coffee was, what seemed like the closest coffee near our hotel being only a mile away but they were further than we expected. It is a small and quaint little corner coffee shop. I came around 9 am and it was already bustling with customers on a Friday morning. The place is cozy and inviting, tables to sit at and large windows inviting sunlight in the morning. The shop is adorned with plenty of indoor plants to brighten up the space. It felt cozy and like I was stepping into my neighbor's home. So to call them the neighborhood coffee shop is rightfully so. I saw a sign for their November and December specials. For November it was the maple rosemary latte and December was the gingerbread spice latte. I tried to order the November special in case they had any leftover but they didn't. I came a few weeks too late. Instead, I got the December special in a small with oat milk and half sweet. Also saw a case of pastries and bread that looked delicious but I was only in the mood for coffee. The small gingerbread spice latte was small indeed. I had requested for half sweet and it was just right. It had the right amount of spice and not too sweet. It's a pretty good holiday drink. Also found it fun that whenever a customer comes in, the baristas also like to do a fun welcome greeting. If I had more time, I would have loved to stay a bit to soak in the atmosphere. It was very warm and festive inside. Will have to come back whenever I'm in the area again.

Sourdough bread heaven in The OC? Heck yeah!

Yo, this is the spot!!!! Anytime I travel, I try to find that perfect coffee shop. The shop that has cool peeps on the bar, friendly faces at the register. Locally owned and operated is my jam and this is my new favorite shop. I found them on my way to our office, while visiting from up North. I was blown away when I saw the fresh loaves of delicious sourdough bread. I ordered sourdough toast with butter, and it felt a bit odd, ngl. But man, as a sourdough bread honk, I was impressed.  I went with a Cortodo and it was definitely a coffee forward beverage. The espresso is strong, flavorful, and not bitter at all! Absolutely fantastic first drink. I went back at the end of the week to grab some whole beans for my coworkers, had an espresso shot, and of course, more sourdough toast! They have a wonderful selection of toppings, but, I just couldn't resist fresh bread with a giant nob of butter! Espresso shot is served with sparkling water, to cleanse the pallet and provide a vibrant refresher. Exceptional coffee, crafted very well, and such a fun place to chill and enjoy a beverage.  A lady who is obviously a regular was telling the entire shop about her trip to the ATL and I felt right at home. Friendly vibes, solid energy, and damn good coffee. My new fave in The OC.

Tom gluten free sourdough with vanilla latte. Cranberry pecan gluten free with cream cheese and a vanilla matcha

Very chill and welcoming spot. The host was very sweet in answering all our questions.its very hard to find Gluten free bread in restaurants, so when I read the comments on Yelp I was so excited to try Brot. Oh boy, their cranberry pecan gluten free toast with cream cheese was absolutely delicious. My wife had the T.O.M on gluten free sourdough and her first bite was Divine! Her words and she doesn't play about her food! So hands down Brot is the spot to go for coffee, delicious gluten free toast with loads of topping options! Oh and they sell it by the loaf! Totally worth it.

Great coffee and egg salad toast. It was busy but didn't take long for us to get the orders. They had a variety of toasts you could get made and the coffee was strong and not bitter. Everyone was also very friendly.

Yu L.

Nice place. the coffee is rich and flavorful, the sourdough bread crisp on the outside and soft within. The space feels open and inviting -- perfect whether you're here for a quiet moment alone or catching up with friends by the window.

This place is a charming coffee shop with artisan brews and customizable toast. With plenty of seating to relax or study and smooth jazz playing lightly in the background, this is the place to be. The staff is nice and they work at at fast pace. I ordered the White Mocha and it was a smooth blend and tasted good.

love their different toasts and coffee! super cute concept with the DIY toast. quick and inexpensive spot to grab something light and healthy. definitely coming backkk!

I've passed by this coffeeshop many times and I'm so glad I finally gave it a try. I got an iced vanilla latte which had the perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness. I love that they offer non dairy alternatives - they have almond, macadamia, and oat milk options. I also had to try a toast since it looks like they make their bread in-house. I'll probably grab a loaf next time! It was delicious. Drinks are quick but toast takes a while as they make it fresh. The staff was so nice as well. I'll be back~

The line goes to the door much of the time, but they keep it moving, keep it kind, and the one barista keeps the drinks coming out so quickly that you barely have time to find a seat! It was pretty full again with half studier/workers and half friend pairs/ groups. We happened to come on the day they had a collab for jeans recycling with Madewell: donate a pair of jeans and get a free 12-oz drink from the "taplist" (regular menu list) plus a coupon for 15% off a pair of jeans! What a great and generous promo for a cause. Inside vinyl shops look fun. I am sad that the stationery shop is gone, but still looking forward to bringing my fam to check our the vinyl and fun drinks. The drinks: We came here just for the Fall Banoffee Latte because we crave/miss this British flavor. It was pretty good and a good sweetness, but I think toffee topping or a little more toffee flavor would've elevated it. I actually liked the free pour of Strawberry Swing even better! Green tea with strawberry flavor and a floral touch without bitterness. Had a taste of my friend's Princess Daisy green tea with mango/passion fruit, and it had a bit of bitter/tea flavor, but it grew on my friend's palate with every sip. The food: Only tried the cinamon sugar donut, which was tasty, solid regualr yeast donut topped with ?buttercream frosting and 8 or so cinnamon toast crunch pieces. The add-it-yourself maple drizzle dropper was a fun touch, though might've liked it a tad more viscous if possible (turned out looking like it rained maple syrup on the donut, heh). Plenty of parking on Orange St public parking lot or along that street. Now they charge at the lot, about $1.45 per hour (oh well, better than LA parking). Looking forward to returning! Maybe for the bananas foster matcha (heard good things from friend of a foodie friend :)).

Unfortunately, this visit was one disappointment after another. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. hoping for a peaceful coffee-and-breakfast morning. Instead, we accidentally wandered into what felt like a Janis Joplin tribute concert. The music was blasting at nightclub volume--not exactly the relaxing start to the day we had in mind. But surprisingly... that wasn't even the worst part. The food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were still raw--hard enough to remind me they were once part of the ground.. Thankfully I went on a day with a relatively short line, so that's a plus in my book, I know the line can be notoriously long. I also ordered the iced coconut coffee and guava matcha, just as is. All the drinks were good, the coffee was strong and had my head rushing off the first sip. The guava was a great flavor combo with the matcha, and after all the adjustments the matcha two was exactly how I'd like it. The more I drank the matcha two the better it got as well, so my experience improved with time. Cons: For 3 drinks, given we made adjustments to one with an add shot of matcha, came out to roughly 23 before tip. In this day and age its to be expected that coffee/matcha will run your pockets, but its an adjustment I'm still having to make. For the matcha two, although it was good, I would hope that a place known for their matcha would offer something stronger. I may just be picky about my matcha, but having to add a shot to my drink just to get it "grassy" enough is a slight knock. Overall it was still really good, but as a fair critique it could have been a bit better for all of the hype. I am driving from the border of Santa Ana and Costa Mesa, given this is about a 15-20 minute drive, even with the drinks being good I find it hard to make my way back here if I'm not already in the area. There are plenty of good shops for matcha in between my house and here; however, if you are a tustin local it should be on your rotation for sure. Overall: This would get a 4.1 to 4.2 stars if I were able to score it that way. With the landscape of coffee/matcha shops in OC, theres really a spot for everyone. Ayer really strikes a good balance of strong and flavorful drinks. If you're local it should be somewhere you frequent. Glad I finally got to try it.
