We had hoped for the same treatment when we walked into the Leawood location but instead got treated to a pair of adult toddlers more interested in judging us on our lack of Rolexes and Porsches than our need for glasses. Felix was a true gentleman and a good businessman. He saw in us people who wanted high quality glasses from a decent company at a decent price. From what I can gather, none of that exists today. I ordered 3 pairs of glasses, got no receipt for the order because we were in a hurry. Male clerk was supposed to contact me in 5 days for prescription info. 2 weeks later, I contacted him and informed him I didn't want the 3rd pair of glasses and wanted receipts for everything and wanted everything to be submitted to insurance. Male clerk seemed to be more interested in saving commission than helping me get what I needed. I emailed him my prescription and waited for confirmation of changes. Several weeks later, I get 3 pairs of glasses with none of my requested changes including the 3rd pair of glasses that I didn't need. Plus no submission to insurance, no change in prescription based on new info, and no fucking receipts for the 3rd pair of glasses I didn't even need. Don't walk. Run away from this company. Felix is no longer in charge and the company has been taken over by halfwits with delusions of adequacy. You'll encounter many fewer assholes if you just stay in your car in the parking lot and go to warbyparker.com on your phone instead.

By far Dr. Hawk is the nicest, non stuffy, and knowledgeable docs that I've ever put in trust of not only mine, but my whole families, eyes. They have a beautiful office with a great selection of frames and the largest selection of Oakley frames I've found. Staff in all businesses tend to change however even the the new(ish) girls have always been inviting and personable with a level of knowledge far exceeding anything you'll normally find at your local mall eyecare centers. The facility that he sent me to works very closely with him so they were very surprised when I showed up and everything that he had sent was incorrect. The other office apologized to me for making me wait and go through all of this hassle for nothing. They were pretty shocked about what happened. He wasted my time and my money, and I ended up having to go for a third appointment somewhere else. That also postponed my treatment. Dr. Schwerdtfeger (Dr. Joe) would not recommend. If you are a doctor and you were unsure of the next steps a patient needs to take, tell them that. I would have more respect for a doctor if they told me the truth, instead of sending me somewhere that couldn't help.

I was a patient for over 12 years, but I am probably not going to be anymore. Let me disclose somethings that they do NOT disclose until you are already done: 1. If you bring in an outside pair of glasses, because you don't like what they have in stock - they will charge you at least $20 - even if they are filling the script and you are their patient. You brought in a pair of glasses that was not purchased through their store. 2. If you get cataract surgery, and you later need a pair of readers, they sold my father an (81 year old man) readers that cost over $700 which could have been purchased OTC for less than $50. 3. Also, if you wear contacts - they will charge you $85 - not covered by most insurance. Doesn't matter that your prescription hasn't changed, they just want the additional $85 - as "there are materials involved," so I was told. I don't recall anything different from any other eye exam. It ended with, "we have to renew your prescription." So there it is - $85 to renew prescriptions.

After my dog destroyed my favorite pair of glasses I had bought at Dr. Krannawitter's former office, I had a hard time finding frames in Lawrence that I liked. So one morning I popped into the new location on Pflumm. I was so impressed with what they'd done with that building. Of course, their eyewear selection was still amazing. The staff were friendly and informative, just as they had been 5 years ago. Bummed I didn't have a current glasses prescription to order the frames that I'd found there and loved, staff were able to squeeze me into an appointment right then so that I could go ahead and order my glasses that day. Dr. Kranawitter is very kind and personable. The exam was comprehensive and there was no pressure to try additional expensive services that would be unnecessary based on my age and history. My glasses arrived quickly. Even if you love your eye doctor, I think their eye wear selection alone is worth stopping in for.

I recently scratched the lenses on my favorite pair of glasses, and I was devastated. I called Wink, and they were able to offer me a higher quality lens, all of the 'bells and whistles' (anti-scratch coating, anti-reflective coating, transitions lenses) for MUCH less than other places. They also have a 2-year warranty on lenses, which is AMAZING and much better than I've found at other establishments. On top of offering a great deal, my experience here was FANTASTIC. I had my lenses in just under a WEEK and I didn't even have to give up my glasses during that time - I brought them in when the lenses arrived, and they put them in place for me on the spot. They also cleaned my glasses very thoroughly, AND gave me a new case, microfiber cleaning cloth, and lens cleaning spray. Overall, the staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, the space is chic and welcoming...it really is an EXPERIENCE. 11/10, would recommend to EVERYONE. :)
