I go to the stores in Hawthorne and Park Place. The Persols are always A good choice. Great customer service. I will buy another pair here.

When I walk in the door I am greeted and checked I right away. There is little waiting for my scheduled appointment time. From check in to eye exam to check out, it took 30 minutes. They have a machine they can use in lieu of dilating your eyes. It cost $35 and is definitely worth it. I've seen Dr. Stacy Phillips and Dr.Kirk during my annual visits. Both women are friendly and listen to you. If you're looking for a new eye doctor, highly recommend checking this place out. They also have an optical shop with a wide, variety selection of glasses for men, women & kids. On a personal note, Dr. Stacy Phillips was able to help me solve an on going issue with my left cornea by referring to another specialist doctor. I'm truly grateful for her for helping me resolve with what I thought was an "issue I just had to deal with" for the rest of my life.

The service at Hunter Family Vision is something I do not see in the marketplace today. I work and am very familiar with group insurance. I work for a consulting house that is HQ in KC and while my practice is focused on absence, I know a fair amount about other group offered products. I received a text today from Brandi at Hunter Family Vision notifying me that my company's eye insurance provider, VSP, was changing their policy provisions and I may not be eligible after 6/1 for "medically necessary" contacts. In the early 90s, I grew up as a kid who had to patch their right eye to make the left eye stronger and for a long time, glasses were my only option. I eventually moved to contacts and saw a competitor. No one ever told me that insurance may cover the cost of my contacts because of the difference in the prescription between my right and left eye. At my first visit, Dr. Swan told me they should be covered 100%. The thousands of dollars she has saved me over the last 5 years goes above and beyond what I would anticipate from any other healthcare provider. This is true patient advocacy. I was overwhelmingly impressed with Brandi and the entire office staff at Hunter Family Vision. I received a proactive text today about the policy changes and recommended that I come in and see Dr. Swan for my annual exam before my policy changed. That text alone also saved me hundreds of dollars. Otherwise, I would have waited until the end of the year to only find out that VSP may not cover my contacts. I live in Lawrence, KS now. But I will happily make the trip to continue to be a patient of Dr. Swan and Hunter Family Vision. Thank you so much for being an advocate for patient healthcare.

I originally had gone to my previous optometrists office however based on the price they quoted per pair $600 for lenses only it was clear based on the sales associates indifference they weren't really interested in my business. I removed their Yelp review because I could no longer stand behind the level of customer service. Enter Fairway Eye center. Some years ago I had done business with Fairway and remembered the excellent customer service. In fact the only reason I really switched was they didn't have the frames I wanted. I digress. So after getting a completely outrageous quote I called Fairway and asked for Tina. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out she was still there. I explained my dilemma and all I can say is that Fairway came to the rescue once again. The prices were completely reasonable and Fairway stands 100% behind their product and customer service. I won't be going to anyplace else again. The customer service can't be beat!

Seriously, if it's not written down it didn't happen. I called to check the status of my contact and was told "You're in a wait status" and that they should have already been received. In short, not a happy camper!!!!! I would have given a 2.5, but the Dr. and techs were nice and proficient for the most part, one of the techs seemed new and struggled through the screening.

I didn't think it was a stye, but hey, I'm not a doctor, so I just went with what he said. He referred me to another facility. Once I got to that facility weeks later, turns out, he was incorrect and should have never sent me to the other facility. The facility that he sent me to works very closely with him so they were very surprised when I showed up and everything that he had sent was incorrect. The other office apologized to me for making me wait and go through all of this hassle for nothing. They were pretty shocked about what happened. He wasted my time and my money, and I ended up having to go for a third appointment somewhere else. That also postponed my treatment. Dr. Schwerdtfeger (Dr. Joe) would not recommend. If you are a doctor and you were unsure of the next steps a patient needs to take, tell them that. I would have more respect for a doctor if they told me the truth, instead of sending me somewhere that couldn't help.
