The waiting area was very comfortable and they seemed to offer a good variety of frames and products. I was seen quickly for my appointment. There was a little issue with one of the machines during my tests, but the staff was efficient and helpful to one another to get the machine reset. The room where they do a few pre-tests has a tall "stool" chair to sit on for the tests which isn't the most accommodating. I asked if the chair could be lowered (since the test table can be lowered) and she could not lower it. I chose to stand for the tests, which did work, but it would be nice if a bit more consideration could be made for people who were unable to get into a tall seat. I did notice later that they had a little folding step stool nearby, perhaps that is their work around, but it wasn't offered to me. I still would have preferred a lower seat since the table could be lowered. I didn't opt to purchase glasses following my visit because my insurance didn't cover enough of the fees; however, I was given some advice about the product that I was planning to purchase (transition lenses) which I found to be very informative. I appreciated their no-pressure approach with the post-exam. Other offices (different brand) nearly hold your ankles as you try to leave without purchasing glasses through them. She simply assured me that my information was on file and that I was welcome to come in and look around if I were to change my mind.

The doctor who saw me was Jason Green. He was very kind and good at explaining what was going on. I got my pupils dilated, which I have never had done before. I have pretty bad anxiety, and I started to have a panic attack. One of my worst fears is not being able to see, so I think that caused me to start to panic. When your pupils are dilated, you cannot see up close very well. Dr. Green was extremely patient, and even though he was running behind, he let me take a break and helped me calm down, and made me feel better by telling me stories. I don't usually have panic attacks, and was surprised that this came on so quickly. He was very helpful throughout the whole process. The front desk gal took the time to run both of my insurances to get me the best price, which the screening ended up being free through my Blue Cross insurance vs Davis Vision. I just wanted to come on here and thank all the staff who helped me at my appointment. Thank you for making me feel comfortable and being so kind.

It was bad. I literally went into the office 6 times in 1 week. It got to the point they weren't ever going to fit again. Austin went above and beyond to help me. He was fantastic during the entire adjustment debacle, but when it came time to finding a pair that fit me better, he was so helpful. Explained why some frames are better than others as far as weight and fit. I found a new pair relatively quickly. I ordered 3 pairs of glasses, got no receipt for the order because we were in a hurry. Male clerk was supposed to contact me in 5 days for prescription info. 2 weeks later, I contacted him and informed him I didn't want the 3rd pair of glasses and wanted receipts for everything and wanted everything to be submitted to insurance. Male clerk seemed to be more interested in saving commission than helping me get what I needed. I emailed him my prescription and waited for confirmation of changes. Several weeks later, I get 3 pairs of glasses with none of my requested changes including the 3rd pair of glasses that I didn't need. Plus no submission to insurance, no change in prescription based on new info, and no fucking receipts for the 3rd pair of glasses I didn't even need. Don't walk. Run away from this company. Felix is no longer in charge and the company has been taken over by halfwits with delusions of adequacy. They test depth perception, color perception, eye pressure with the air shooty thing, measure your pupillary distance, dilation and do refraction. Turns out that my current prescription was too strong. That's what you get when you rush eye care. So, Dr Joe gave me a new prescription. I won't be going back to my other doc... this went way too smooth and was actually accurate. Only thing I would have preferred was to be given some sunglass inserts after dilation. I wasn't offered any, but would have gladly taken them. So, bring your sunglasses in or remember to ask if they have any... so you don't get hit by a car or something. The service at Hunter Family Vision is something I do not see in the marketplace today. I work and am very familiar with group insurance. I work for a consulting house that is HQ in KC and while my practice is focused on absence, I know a fair amount about other group offered products. I received a text today from Brandi at Hunter Family Vision notifying me that my company's eye insurance provider, VSP, was changing their policy provisions and I may not be eligible after 6/1 for "medically necessary" contacts. In the early 90s, I grew up as a kid who had to patch their right eye to make the left eye stronger and for a long time, glasses were my only option. I eventually moved to contacts and saw a competitor. No one ever told me that insurance may cover the cost of my contacts because of the difference in the prescription between my right and left eye. At my first visit, Dr. Swan told me they should be covered 100%. The thousands of dollars she has saved me over the last 5 years goes above and beyond what I would anticipate from any other healthcare provider. This is true patient advocacy. I was overwhelmingly impressed with Brandi and the entire office staff at Hunter Family Vision. I received a proactive text today about the policy changes and recommended that I come in and see Dr. Swan for my annual exam before my policy changed. That text alone also saved me hundreds of dollars. Otherwise, I would have waited until the end of the year to only find out that VSP may not cover my contacts. I live in Lawrence, KS now. But I will happily make the trip to continue to be a patient of Dr. Swan and Hunter Family Vision. Thank you so much for being an advocate for patient healthcare.

I knew I was destined to have some too! Not into paying over $500 for glasses I shopped around online. I was never comfortable making the purchase for one reason or another. Finally I decided I should just find a local storefront. My first interaction was over the phone. I just wondered if I needed an appointment. I've never been so excited to not have an appointment! "Come on in!" My daughter and I arrived after school. I was nervous about bringing a six year old into the boutique with me. (YES - THIS IS A BOUTIQUE.) Would she knock over a display? Would she break frames or distract other customers? My daughter and I where greeted warmly and I was put at ease. I knew exactly which frames I wanted so I donned my webpage. Next I was shown the corresponding frames and it was time for measurements. I was promised my new glasses about ten days after my visit. Romanelli Optix does their own work when it comes to placing your actual lenses into their frames. The process was explained and the date set. Fast forward and I get an invite for an event in St Louis. I'd like to wear my new glasses to the event so I make a call. The frames were promised on Friday - I call on Wednesday. "We'll do our best and give you a call". Fast forward to Thursday and I've got a voicemail. My fancy new frames are ready to party. My daughter and I picked up my frames after school. I was greeted by name like an old friend. They fit great and gave me goose bumps to see them on for the first time. I was reminded of their cleaning, repair and warranty service. And we were off I don't know when I'll be in the market for designer glasses this nice again. What I do know is when it comes to eyewear - you wear them everyday all day, you should REALLY love them! When it's that time again I can't wait to give Romanelli Optix my business.
