The lady working the front desk was super nice and very helpful in finding what was right for me at the store.

Love my eye doctor but the sales person with shoulder length hair in the optical shop was horrible. I came in for prescription sunglasses and was told transition lenses would fit my needs. The salesperson told me the tint would work for my outside job, however, when I wore my new glasses outside all day, the tint did not get dark like sunglasses. I came back to discuss my disappointment and options for making them darker as initially described. The sales lady tried to sell me new glasses for $300 more dollars on top of the $400 already paid. Sorry, but they clearly don't know their business or they are just out to make money. Either way they lost a client and my business read more

I found Precision Optics on both Yelp and Google, both which offered good reviews. I made an appointment here for early on a Monday morning. I was in and out in no time. Dr. Smith was very professional and thorough with her exam. She explained everything in detail. I was impressed with the service here, so I'll definitely be back for next year's eye exam too. read more

My roommate recommended Precision Optics. I was looking for a change and something close. Every interaction was friendly from the scheduling to the appointment. It was also the most efficient appointment. No waiting around in the waiting room and in between eye tests. Great experience and would highly recommend this optometrist! read more

I came to Precision Optics for my annual eye exam. Dr. Smith is a great optometrist, highly professional and explained everything she was doing. She was warm, caring, and made me feel at ease. Furthermore, I was not charged extra for fundus photos, while other offices I have been to charge extra, sometimes $30+ for those. read more

Very friendly. Got me into the right contacts. Had to get a couple trials before I got the correct ones that for my eyes

Precision Optics is the only place I'll go in Kansas City. Dr. Jill is professional and clearly an expert in her field, plus she makes eye exams fun. When I first moved to KC I went through a handful of clinics that were subpar, but once I found Precision Optics, I've never looked back (eye exam pun). Jill Stein is the real deal and a great value, and I refer all of my friends to her. I use my eyes for a living and am picky about eye care. 110% recommend. read more

While I also like Dr. Jill, the optician gives the worst customer service I've ever had. I wanted to get new glasses prior to taking a trip. Gina, the optician, said there would be plenty of time to order the glasses and get them back. Well, I had to call repeatedly to ask about them--she almost never returns phone calls--and on the day before my trip they still weren't back from the lab. Finally Gina said they would be back from the lab at 9:00 pm, and I could come by in the morning and get the glasses on my way to the airport! And when I stopped by in the morning to get the glasses, the sunglass clips that were supposed to be part of the order were missing! When I came back to town I complained about the sunglass clips and they were ordered--but my glasses still had to go back to the lab so the magnetic clip attachments could be put in. So several days without the new glasses. And when they came back, with the clips, the clips were unusable because they kept coming loose at the nosepiece! It turned out that the lenses had not been attached properly, and guess what--yes, they had to go back to the lab! This is the worst customer service i have ever experienced anywhere. Clearly the lab that this office uses isn't worth a damn. And as far as Gina is concerned, not once did she call me back when she said she would, I always had to track her down. Once she said she couldn't call me back because she lost my phone number. Unbelievable! read more

I just moved to Kansas City and was referred to Precision Optics by a co-worker. Let me tell you, you would never expect such great service from an eye care provider. Dr. Jill is the most AMAZING doctor I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She is very caring and easy to work with. She explains everything she is doing, but keeps the appointment just quick enough. She also MADE SURE to look for the most affordable payment options. The facility is in a great location, and the inside is very nice, clean and modern. Don't know which contact brand you want to try? I left with three different samples she recommended for me and some special eye drops for my extra irritated eyes. It's not often you have someone who is that willing to make sure you and your vision are happy. I would never think to Yelp about a doctors appointment, but Dr.Jill and her staff were just that awesome. It's nice to have a doctor who actually cares about you; I will definitely go back and make a point to refer this place to everyone I know, even if they don't ask. The only reason I felt the need to rush out of there was to write this review. Happy, happy eyes! read more

I called this place up because I didn't have an eye doctor in the area yet, and I had some irritating particle in my eye that I hadn't been able to get out after 24 hours - they were very kind and were able to get me in within a couple of hours between patients. Finding parking wasn't hard, and the staff at the front desk were nice - but really Dr. Jill was so friendly and fun to chat with. She was quick and gentle in getting whatever little irritant was in my eye, did a quick eye exam and told me I was good to go. Will definitely be coming back in the future! read more

I went in seeking expertise on anti reflective coating, and was met with ridiculous rudeness. It was a waste of my time, but ultimately did not matter; they have a crappy collection of frames. Skip it. read more

I liked the Optometrist. I recommend you go elsewhere for your glasses. They are too expensive and you get unreliable customer service in that half of the business. read more

Easily the best optometrist I've had! Such a wonderful experience with Dr. Smith. She was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. She explained everything as she was doing it, what she was looking for, and why. She also helped sort out insurance and rebates (something other Drs would pass to their assistants). Definitely found a great place and will recommend! read more

Dr. Smith was very accommodating of our short-notice appointment. She did a thorough exam for a fair price and gave me the results immediately. Her office was in a great location and easily accessible. Thanks for your friendly, professional service! read more

By far the best optician in KCMO. Friendly, warm, gentle and professional service. Clean modern office in an easily accessible area.

After moving to KC, it was time for my yearly eye exam. How would I find a new optometrist? Yelp! of course! After seeing the positive reviews I decided to give them a call, they were able to get me in the very next week! All of the employees were extremely welcoming and helpful. Dr. Smith was personable and professional. I could not be more happy with my choice to visit this optometrist. My only disclaimers are that the selection of frames were not quite what I was looking for (but that doesn't mean it will not be perfect for you!) and that the location is hard to find if you use GPS. I would suggest using The Villa's address instead, 4120 Baltimore Ave Kansas City, MO 64111, it's a closed venue right next to Precision Optics. read more

I like Dr. Smith a lot. She is easy to interact with and seems good at what she does. That part of Precision Optics is fine. Like other small boutique shops they don't have a huge selection of frames--that's no knock against them. Also their prices seem comparable to other boutique optical shops. You can get much cheaper glasses at the discount chains or online, but if you want high-end glasses and good service you go to a shop like this. Unfortunately I did not get either high-quality glasses or good service from the optical shop at Precision Optics. First the quality of the lab services was not good. My glasses came back with problems to the AR coating (visibly defective), and then the mounts were uneven, requiring yet another re-make, each of which took at least a week and half. The big problem I had was that I found the customer service in the optical shop not at all good. The optician (Beverly?) seemed annoyed with me when I pointed out that the glasses had visible defects from the lab, and then made it seem like she was doing me a favor to fix the problems. Shouldn't she have noticed these issues before giving them to me? And she never seemed to understand that it was really inconvenient for me to have to repeatedly come back to get my glasses. Also, I specifically ordered a Crizal AR coating, but when I had to get them fixed it turned out that the lenses had the "house brand" AR coating on them. Could not tell from the receipt which she charged me for. I could go on here, but this conveys my general experience. Overall I felt like I spent a ton of money to get high-end glasses, and got expensive frames with poor-quality lab services and really poor customer service. This is not why I go to a boutique optical shop. I have since gone elsewhere and am much happier. read more

I should preface this by saying that I did not buy glasses here, or get an eye exam..... BUT they did tighten up my loose glasses so that they were no longer sitting crooked on my face. I explained my situation to the staff, letting them know that I had purchased my glasses elsewhere, and they told me that they would be more than happy to tighten up the screws for me. In just a few minutes I had my glasses back and they were in perfect working order. GREAT customer service! Because of this experience I can say that next time I'm due for a new pair of glasses that Precision Optics will be getting my business. I wish more businesses and employees were like the people I encountered at this establishment! read more

Doctor Jill is chill and badass. Let her have her way with your eyes. Also their office is quicker than you could possibly expect, and they won't jerk you around about anything. Their Westport location is pretty central to the city, so it helped me take the minimum time off work to get checked out. read more

Dr. Smith is great. She is patient and always takes the time to answer all my questions. I hate going to doctors but I love going to her! Nice office and always on time. Highly recommended! read more

Dr. Jill Smith was extremely professional and very personable. As she was examining me, she explained exactly what she was doing each step of the way. I highly recommend her. read more

If you live in the metropolitan KC area this should definitely be where you go for your eye-care needs. Perfect central location, one of the best selections of eyewear in town, and Dr. Jill is amazingly king and thorough. Highly recommended. read more

I needed to use my VSP and I called and got an appointment in 1.5 weeks. In and out. Literally... The Optometrist is detailed and efficient. Explained what she needed to. Gave me a new set of contacts to try. No pressure to buy. I came back a week later and used my benefits here. Fantastic!! read more

I didn't get my eye exam here, but I did buy glasses. Probably won't go back. Definitely will not buy the Lindberg glasses from Precision or anywhere else. Shop is expensive - but nice eyewear selection - as long as you're cool and trendy. read more

I have been to a wide variety of eye doctors, and Dr. Jill Smith is by far the best I've ever been to! She was very efficient, gave me the necessary information, didn't make me feel rushed or like an inconvenience. She also helped me understand my options for contacts and glasses as well as researching and finding that I qualified for a MUCH better deal through my insurance than I had any idea about! Very quick and efficient in ordering the contacts I liked (after letting me sample two separate kinds) and providing all the information I needed to submit for the rebate. She also was more than willing to give me the prescription for glasses without pressuring me to buy glasses through them. Would highly recommend this doctor! read more

I had a really fantastic experience with Dr. Jill and staff. I have dealt with pushy sales people when purchasing glasses, but her staff was friendly, helpful, and patient. There was no pressure to order today and I appreciate the time the staff took to explain all processes and procedures. I would definitely recommend Precision Optics to anyone looking for an eye doctor. Not to mention, I was in and out of my appointment in less than an hour. read more

I was extremely happy with my visit to Precision Optics!! Dr. Jill is friendly and very professional. I came in a little stressed and Dr. Jill put me at ease instantly. I am so glad I found this Optometrist office! read more

I couldn't even get an appointment made due to the receptionist arguing with me and interrupting me, that's good customer service!? I don't think so! I got treated better at LensCrafters. read more

Dr Jill is so cool. She's super laid back and her office isn't so busy that if I wake up with a problem, she can't see me that day or the next. The ladies at the front desk are super helpful and very kind. I have been wearing contacts or glasses for 23 years and in that time, I've never been to a optometrist office that was so intimate and knowledgable. A perfect example was when I went in the other day because I'd been having trouble with my Night and Day contacts seriously inflaming my eye. I'd gone through 6 months worth in only 4 months because I couldn't wear them longer than 2-3 weeks and I'd just thrown out my last pair. The lady at the front desk looked up my insurance and scheduled an appointment the first available day. When I told her my glasses were two prescriptions behind, she gave me a 30-day supply of contact lenses to get me though. Dr Jill came over and offered me the "daily wear" ones because my eyes had been so distressed lately. What ridiculously personalized, caring service! I tell all my friends to come here because she really is just the best :) read more

I recently went to Precision Optics for my regular check-up. Dr. Kelli was awesome and spent a good amount of time with me. If you go here she is the doctor to see. But DO NOT BUY GLASSES HERE!! The glasses sales-person (there is only one) is all about making money. If you do not plan to spend money and are just looking around she will not help you. I went to pick up my glasses thinking it would take me 5 minutes..no she was busy talking to someone about kleenex and eventually 20 minutes later my own doctor had to help me. Then there was a problem with the glasses and 2 weeks later I still haven't got them. Main point: The doctors are great but just get your eye check-ups here and that's it. read more

I had been struggling with wearing contacts for years - literally. Dr. Jill Smith conducted a very thorough and patient (heh-heh) eye exam, and then suggested a brand of contacts that I had not yet tried. They made all of the difference. Woo! read more

Dr. Smith was professional and thorough with her exam. She was able to quickly determine my current prescription even though I did not have my records from my prior doctor. Contacts were quickly ordered and I was given a pair of trial lenses to verify the prescription first before ordering the year supply. Will definitely be going back for my future appointments. read more

Dr. Jill was very good--answered questions I had about my exam. She has a very helpful woman working with her there who helps you with frame selection/fitting. (short hair, glasses--her name escapes me-sorry!) She takes her time with you and gives you her full attention when it's your turn. I have also taken in a pair of frames purchased elsewhere which that vendor failed to fix on two separate occasions--rested crooked on my nose--the woman at Precision Optics straightened them right out. Limited selection of frames but high quality brands, and stylish. read more

My husband and I had an eye emergency while traveling out of state. The office staff was very helpful over the phone and made an appointment for us that afternoon. Both my husband and I were very impressed with Dr. Smith's care. She was extremely thorough, polite, and took care of all our eye emergency and out of town needs. Would highly recommend this office and would make it our optometrist office if we lived here! Thank you for your help! read more
