I fell in love with this place - incredible scenery, delish food and dazzling wine that I will definitely be back for. Be sure to walk through their gardens! They are gorgeous! We had reservations for lunch so didn't have an actual tasting so I was convinced by our wonderful server to try the 2019 Wascher Riesling and it was really off the charts for me. I'm entirely used to Riesling being overly sweet! This was a wonderful surprise and is now a definite favorite with its citrus and tropical fruit notes! Absolutely refreshing and perfect for a summer day. The food...wow. I had the flank steak and it was heavenly. Scheduled a tasting at Brooks Wine. Of the many great options in the Willamette Valley, we choose Brooks for the view of the valley and Mount Hood and it did not disappoint! Besides their amazing view from the patio, we were also blown away by the wine, the beautiful grounds, and the service. We knew the Pinot Noir would be amazing, but we were pleasantly surprised by their dry white wines too. Also appreciated that it's a biodynamic winery. Worst winery ever. Don't waste your time here. The staff here are extremely rude. Our party spent over $1k here but they treated us like we were drunk criminals. Sara was our host and she denied my friend more wine because my friend was "intoxicated" but she wasn't. All the staff snickered at us and we could tell they were staring at our party and laughing. Went to brooks on a trip to McMinnville. We were grateful to get a reservation didn't realize they are required at most of the area wineries for tastings. Kids were initially disappointed because the menu seemed a little stuffy for them but we ordered to popcorns to hold them over and to our surprise the bowls were huge and kids were happy! My mom was disappointed they didn't offer a Chardonnay option and we were bummed they wouldn't let us sip out wine on the deck and enjoy the views. A few of the wines were too sweet for our taste however several were wonderful, the beautiful grounds and the wonderful service from Mattie made it a great experience. We sat inside because you can never be sure about the weather; we were offered a nice table by the window so we would have a view. I was a huge Brooks fan and made Reservations to visit the winery during my travels. We were not seated at a table - which we reserved - and this made seating difficult for a friend with mobility challenges. In addition, I was scolded for allowing my teens to walk in the gardens. These folks are young adults and were merely walking on the paths within my line of sight. Food was ok. Wine is delicious but I'm not buying it anymore. I found employees pretty rude and am pretty disappointed in Brooks. I'll find other excellent wineries in the area. read more

I have been to this winery a handful of times now and each time it has been a great experience. This place is smaller and has a more intimate vibe about it. All the wait staff are so kind and very knowledgeable about the winery and the wines. Not to mention the views are beautiful of the Willamette Valley. They specialize in Pinot noir and Rieslings and I have to admit they do a great job. We also got brussels sprouts and popcorn which were so good. My favorite view in the McMinnville wine region. Delicious wine, great food, spectacular customer service, and kid friendly. It was recommended to be on the lower level so the kids could wander into the garden, look at the chickens, and play games. Some friends and I went to Brooks this past weekend to celebrate our friend's 30th birthday. The overall experience was one we hope to forget. The attitude of the staff, especially Sara, was extremely discouraging. Sara had an attitude from the moment we walked in, and she acted extremely rude, curt, and unprofessional the entire time we were there. The wine itself was fine, but unfortunately, due to the lack of customer service, and the overall feeling of being looked down upon the entire time, the taste of the wine did nothing to improve our experience there. I would highly recommend you try another winery in the area, as there are many other options around Portland to choose from. Also, a note to Brooks management, I would highly recommend retraining some of your staff on basic customer service and etiquette or considering hiring new staff altogether. read more

I called 3 weeks prior to our arrival to reserve seating for a large group inside and I was told we would be seated by the window inside with a nice view for our party of 12. I was very clear with the number of adults and minors, and I was reassured that there would be no issues. We were running about 10 mins behind, so I called to let them know that we were running a bit late, they said it was no problem. When we arrived, we were escorted to a cold (it was rainy) solitary area underneath the deck with zero view! It was nothing like I was promised at the time I made the reservation. There were empty couches and chairs inside in the corner when we walked into the tasting room, and so I asked why we weren't sitting inside with a view, and the host stated "Oh we can't accommodate a party of your size inside. You should have received an email or a call about the change in your seating." I absolutely did not receive a notification, and even when I called to let them know we were on our way, nobody informed me of any changes. I do not appreciate being lied to and being treated so disrespectfully. Sadly, we left without tasting their wines. Their service was unacceptable. Stay away. read more

We enjoyed tasting the red wines at this vineyard. The Paco Board was beautiful and delicious. Unfortunately, we were not offered seats on the patio because we did not have reservations. It was frustrating because we saw empty seats the entire time we were there. Finally we asked if we could move outside and we were able to do that for our last two samples. The views are amazing. Most wines that we sampled were $68 per bottle, but only $16 per glass. read more

She checks all the boxes on just who you would want to take you on a journey. Really enjoyed this winery. I'm not one who normally goes on winery trips, but came here to meet family while we were on vacation. Unpretentious and welcoming. I really enjoyed the wine and I ended up bringing some bottles of Janus home. That was my favorite! Can't find it here in LA, so I may have to have some sent to me. The story of this winery is very interesting and I was sad to hear about the founder. Tragic. Nice legacy he's left to his family. Lot's of wineries in the area produce great Pinot and have good testing room experiences. So does Brooks. However, these are the unique reasons I keep coming back to Brooks: Not just wine. Excellent food. Full meals. or snacks. The steak I had was deliscious. Great Thai salad. The menu changes monthly. I'm never disapointed. Not just pinot, great rieslings. About 15 different ones. There are always several open for tasting. My favorite is the one called Bois Joli. They do a great job with this varietal. Servers are friendly and well informed. Setting is great. Nice views of the valley below. Tasing room and deck are comfortable and attractive. I usually call the tasting room the same day to make a reservation. 503-435-1278. Winery date. It is hard to believe but I have never visited a winery and here i am in Wine Country. A friend recommended this one for newbies like me and my date were. Drove up the rural road..actually and from the road it didn't look much, but when we drove round to the very full parking lot it was a large welcoming space. Had to wait 10 minutes to get a table as they were very busy. Very nice inside. Got a wine sampler and a meat and cheese plate. The guy doing the sample was very knowledgeable and nice. The plate was just right not too heavy and went well with the wine. Like i said very busy on a Saturday at 2 pm. The views of The Valley were stunning and i wished we had sat outside. Great time. This is the first time I've been up here and I hear that the view is wonderful, however, on this day in early December it was completely socked in with fog so we missed the view. We went with friends who are wine club members and that was a bonus as they get some perks. 50 percent of a bottle of wine that is consumed on the premises. That was cool. They have food available for purchase there but it is none to cheap and I'm sure that's why there is a prominent sign stating no outside food. We had some popcorn $5 for something a little less that the big tub at the movies. Nicely decorated for the holiday and a comfortable space I really enjoyed it. Our friends did indicate they are probably going to not re-up their membership due to the normal (not this day) standing room only situation there. On the day of our visit (yesterday) it was pretty low key and a few open places to sit so I didn't feel pressured to leave immediately. We probably spent an hour or so there. All in all a good place. The tasting room is rustic with a hint of modern, but surprisingly spacious with outside seating with great views. My mother in law called in advance to confirm dogs were allowed for our inside reservation with family the day after Christmas, though I wasn't drinking because I'm pregnant. She was told yes as long as they're small and well behaved. Brooke came up to ask what service my dog was trained for, and I responded she wasn't a service animal. This wasn't the only miscommunication, the person on the phone also told my MIL outside food was allowed when it wasn't. Now I get having a dog inside could jeopardize their food license so she can't bend the rules for us, but Brooke was insistent that my MIL was wrong or misunderstood, and didn't even apologize for the miscommunication on behalf of her coworker. Luckily, we had two cars so I could leave vs having to sit in the car in the cold with my dog while pregnant! My family didn't enjoy the rest of their tasting and said she continued to have a crass attitude towards our party.
