This was our first ever wine tasting experience and her enthusiasm shone through. She really cares about her guests' time, took time to learn about our preferences to guide our experience and it made the session so much more rewarding. It felt like she was truly teaching and hosting us! And the wine was delightful! We ordered several bottles to be sent home and joined the wine club for recurring orders. We arrived and they informed us that they had an event, which we see they have lots of events, and as such they could seat us at the bar. We accepted. My wife went to the rest room and the lady that sat us hovered over me while I perused the menu. I stopped and she asked if I knew what we wanted. I suggested it better if I waited until my wife returned to look at the menu. We ordered and got done wine. We noticed that at the bar all you received were the cocktail napkins which upon receiving our food felt odd as you really couldn't put them on your lap. I asked if we could get the same larger regular napkins as the tables and she was flustered abs instead gave us each a sheet of folded paper towel. She disappeared and while seated others were zipping in and out by us, with a parking attendant for example coming in and drinking several glasses of water right across from us. If all felt like we were relegated to a seat at the bar so they could pack the place but the service was odd to non existent. We had high hopes but they honestly have a cool spot but a big disconnect on customer service. read more

My boyfriend and I spent and early Valentine's Day together at Brooks Wine We loved everything about our visit. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the food was scrumptious We shared a plate of chicken and waffles plus the a veggie Frittata After we finished with a bowl of popcorn I had the wine flight to help me discover what wine I wanted to drink and my boyfriend enjoyed some beers. We sat inside because you can never be sure about the weather; we were offered a nice table by the window so we would have a view. The hostess suggested we walk out on the outdoor patio be before we left so we could take in the view. I fell in love with this place - incredible scenery, delish food and dazzling wine that I will definitely be back for. Be sure to walk through their gardens! They are gorgeous! We had reservations for lunch so didn't have an actual tasting so I was convinced by our wonderful server to try the 2019 Wascher Riesling and it was really off the charts for me. I'm entirely used to Riesling being overly sweet! This was a wonderful surprise and is now a definite favorite with its citrus and tropical fruit notes! Absolutely refreshing and perfect for a summer day. The food...wow. I had the flank steak and it was heavenly. Went to brooks on a trip to McMinnville. We were grateful to get a reservation didn't realize they are required at most of the area wineries for tastings. Kids were initially disappointed because the menu seemed a little stuffy for them but we ordered to popcorns to hold them over and to our surprise the bowls were huge and kids were happy! My mom was disappointed they didn't offer a Chardonnay option and we were bummed they wouldn't let us sip out wine on the deck and enjoy the views. A few of the wines were too sweet for our taste however several were wonderful, the beautiful grounds and the wonderful service from Mattie made it a great experience. To begin, Brooks Wine has often been my choice to share with others...the wine, the setting, the service. However, I was very disappointed by the service my group and I received at our visit on August 21. Sara was our server and she was not a good representative for your winery. She was condescending, spoke rapidly, and generally made our stay less than welcome. I work at Trader Joe's and we put 100% emphasis on a good customer experience. Sara did not provide that. We were disappointed. The wine, as usual, was delicious and the sweet potato fries were amazing. The food is always terrific and I like that you use your own grown ingredients when possible. So much to say in terms of the actual experience and post-experience. First, a lot of planning went into this prior and I worked with Jordyn to establish pricing, food and wine orders weeks in advance prior to our arrival. All I wanted was for the day to go perfect for my fiancee's birthday and all we asked for was just TWO HOURS of customer service and attention to detail as we were paying over $1000+ collectively to enjoy some sun, wine and good company. It all started when one of the members in our group jokingly said she was feeling a little drunk (just her personality) and our server, Sarah, immediately revoked her from getting any more wine. We had no idea how strict this place was, but that was simply uncalled for given our friend didn't exhibit any physical signs of being intoxicated--it was simply a verbal joke. We tried to plead with Sarah and the manager that day to continue to serve everyone drinks, but they were very rude and condescending to my party. The overall experience from then on out was horrible. We were monitored constantly by the staff and at times laughed at for just trying to have a good time. I couldn't help but walk away from this establishment and that day wondering.....what if we were a party of 14 middle-aged white folks. Would we have been treated differently? An entire white staff of workers dealing and having opinions about a group of 14 asian people trying to have TWO hours of fun? Makes you wonder... And of course, it didn't stop there. Went home to find out that our total receipt was overcharged by $65 when I had agreed with Jordyn originally that the birthday dessert was $35 weeks prior, but yet we were charged $100 for it. On top of that, the entire refund process was a mess with separate refund transactions and EVEN THEN as I sit here right now, I'm still short $20 after everything with no response from Jordyn in 4-5 days. I've never had such a worst experience in my life on a day when it was supposed to have mattered most for my fiancee's 30th birthday. read more

Scheduled a tasting at Brooks Wine. Of the many great options in the Willamette Valley, we choose Brooks for the view of the valley and Mount Hood and it did not disappoint! Besides their amazing view from the patio, we were also blown away by the wine, the beautiful grounds, and the service. A fair warning before reading my review, I only had a small sip from my friend's wine so I do think it is silly scoring a winery 5 stars if I didn't even try wine. But very deserving (and of course my friends who accompanied me looooved their flights). My first time at a winery (or anywhere in PNW), I had no expectations. But the vineyard that made a gorgeous backdrop for our evening was magical. Hill after hill, green weaving thru the wind. The moment I walked in I felt the warm embrace of a family winery, greeted by a host and patrons alike; nothing close to pretentious.The place was bright and airy and full of whimsy. I order the cheese course which made with 3 cheeses, kalamata olives, and a phenomenal savory sauce (I was told what it was but I forgot). I recommend this spot to unwind with some wine! read more

I have been to this winery a handful of times now and each time it has been a great experience. This place is smaller and has a more intimate vibe about it. All the wait staff are so kind and very knowledgeable about the winery and the wines. Not to mention the views are beautiful of the Willamette Valley. They specialize in Pinot noir and Rieslings and I have to admit they do a great job. We also got brussels sprouts and popcorn which were so good. I was a huge Brooks fan and made Reservations to visit the winery during my travels. We were not seated at a table - which we reserved - and this made seating difficult for a friend with mobility challenges. In addition, I was scolded for allowing my teens to walk in the gardens. These folks are young adults and were merely walking on the paths within my line of sight. Food was ok. Wine is delicious but I'm not buying it anymore. I found employees pretty rude and am pretty disappointed in Brooks. I'll find other excellent wineries in the area. read more

My favorite view in the McMinnville wine region. Delicious wine, great food, spectacular customer service, and kid friendly. It was recommended to be on the lower level so the kids could wander into the garden, look at the chickens, and play games. Worst winery ever. Don't waste your time here. The staff here are extremely rude. Our party spent over $1k here but they treated us like we were drunk criminals. Sara was our host and she denied my friend more wine because my friend was "intoxicated" but she wasn't. All the staff snickered at us and we could tell they were staring at our party and laughing. I called 3 weeks prior to our arrival to reserve seating for a large group inside and I was told we would be seated by the window inside with a nice view for our party of 12. I was very clear with the number of adults and minors, and I was reassured that there would be no issues. We were running about 10 mins behind, so I called to let them know that we were running a bit late, they said it was no problem. When we arrived, we were escorted to a cold (it was rainy) solitary area underneath the deck with zero view! It was nothing like I was promised at the time I made the reservation. There were empty couches and chairs inside in the corner when we walked into the tasting room, and so I asked why we weren't sitting inside with a view, and the host stated "Oh we can't accommodate a party of your size inside. You should have received an email or a call about the change in your seating." I absolutely did not receive a notification, and even when I called to let them know we were on our way, nobody informed me of any changes. I do not appreciate being lied to and being treated so disrespectfully. Sadly, we left without tasting their wines. Their service was unacceptable. Stay away. read more

Really enjoyed this winery. I'm not one who normally goes on winery trips, but came here to meet family while we were on vacation. Unpretentious and welcoming. I really enjoyed the wine and I ended up bringing some bottles of Janus home. That was my favorite! Can't find it here in LA, so I may have to have some sent to me. The story of this winery is very interesting and I was sad to hear about the founder. Tragic. Nice legacy he's left to his family. Some friends and I went to Brooks this past weekend to celebrate our friend's 30th birthday. The overall experience was one we hope to forget. The attitude of the staff, especially Sara, was extremely discouraging. Sara had an attitude from the moment we walked in, and she acted extremely rude, curt, and unprofessional the entire time we were there. The wine itself was fine, but unfortunately, due to the lack of customer service, and the overall feeling of being looked down upon the entire time, the taste of the wine did nothing to improve our experience there. I would highly recommend you try another winery in the area, as there are many other options around Portland to choose from. Also, a note to Brooks management, I would highly recommend retraining some of your staff on basic customer service and etiquette or considering hiring new staff altogether. read more

We enjoyed tasting the red wines at this vineyard. The Paco Board was beautiful and delicious. Unfortunately, we were not offered seats on the patio because we did not have reservations. It was frustrating because we saw empty seats the entire time we were there. Finally we asked if we could move outside and we were able to do that for our last two samples. The views are amazing. Most wines that we sampled were $68 per bottle, but only $16 per glass. read more

Winery date. It is hard to believe but I have never visited a winery and here i am in Wine Country. A friend recommended this one for newbies like me and my date were. Drove up the rural road..actually and from the road it didn't look much, but when we drove round to the very full parking lot it was a large welcoming space. Had to wait 10 minutes to get a table as they were very busy. Very nice inside. Got a wine sampler and a meat and cheese plate. The guy doing the sample was very knowledgeable and nice. The plate was just right not too heavy and went well with the wine. Like i said very busy on a Saturday at 2 pm. The views of The Valley were stunning and i wished we had sat outside. Great time. Lot's of wineries in the area produce great Pinot and have good testing room experiences. So does Brooks. However, these are the unique reasons I keep coming back to Brooks: Not just wine. Excellent food. Full meals. or snacks. The steak I had was deliscious. Great Thai salad. The menu changes monthly. I'm never disapointed. Not just pinot, great rieslings. About 15 different ones. There are always several open for tasting. My favorite is the one called Bois Joli. They do a great job with this varietal. Servers are friendly and well informed. Setting is great. Nice views of the valley below. Tasing room and deck are comfortable and attractive. I usually call the tasting room the same day to make a reservation. 503-435-1278. This is the first time I've been up here and I hear that the view is wonderful, however, on this day in early December it was completely socked in with fog so we missed the view. We went with friends who are wine club members and that was a bonus as they get some perks. 50 percent of a bottle of wine that is consumed on the premises. That was cool. They have food available for purchase there but it is none to cheap and I'm sure that's why there is a prominent sign stating no outside food. We had some popcorn $5 for something a little less that the big tub at the movies. Nicely decorated for the holiday and a comfortable space I really enjoyed it. Our friends did indicate they are probably going to not re-up their membership due to the normal (not this day) standing room only situation there. On the day of our visit (yesterday) it was pretty low key and a few open places to sit so I didn't feel pressured to leave immediately. We probably spent an hour or so there. All in all a good place. The tasting room is rustic with a hint of modern, but surprisingly spacious with outside seating with great views. A great thing about Brooks is that there is food available for small-bite comsumption, and a few beer choices. A big plus! The staff are friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The waitress let us share a tasting! No covid reservation fees like the other places. Food was INCREDIBLE. Waitress was so so nice and helpful and knowledgeable, wish I could remember her name. She said she was actually new, I could not believe it with her knowledge of the menu and the winery. Cute little garden to walk through. FYI, very family friendly and families sit on the downstairs patio if you don't want kids and dogs around. We were on an anniversary trip sans children, so we enjoyed the top deck this time. Also, nearly every place I made reservations asked if we were celebrating birthday or anniversary. This was the only place to say anything about it! We got little wine stem charms. Odd that everyone asks and does nothing? We shared the steak and greens and the fried sprouts. Wow. Such flavor! They seem so simple but the flavors are perfection. We are not white wine drinkers but the guvertstrameiner (woah, sp?) And Riesling are worth trying, they are not sweet and we loved. The 2016 pinots are so wonderful, super deep. Just go! Well then again, on another visit, when it wasn't busy at all we waited over twenty minutes for someone to take our order. Wines are good, pairing are wonderful. Ok... here's the update... If you want a truly extraordinary meal, given the care and talents of Chef Abby, with great wine pairings, then come and enjoy Brooks. ...
