    What an experience! The best!

It was my husband's Willamette Valley Birthday week extravaganza and I booked this place for the beginning out of winter tasting day. As we drove up, we thought we might be lost but then came Tynan walking out that front door and greeted us with the biggest smile! Well, we knew then we were at the right place. Tynan escorted us in and gave us a quick rundown. Yes, their warehouse is an actual working warehouse, yes there are people working in there, yes, the "tasting rooms" are very peculiar (walls lined with wine crates) and as we turned the corner a gorgeous room set up just for the two of us. Candles, a beautiful arrangement and two plate settings. Our experience was about to commence! We went through our glass of champagne to kick off the celebration and took some pictures. Tynan had excused himself and had made his way back with a large bowl full of delicious crudités and walawala onion delicious mf'ing dip! Then a couple of wines, then a delicate trout rillette (with a candy cap mushroom glacé and OEMGEE, this stuff is worth its weight in gold) and home made pickles, two more wines, then lastly a decadent membrillo beignet with this very dramatic shaved pimenton with this awesome gadget I'm gonna find and buy! DRAMA! Oh, yes and two more wines. What a great experience, truly the best in the valley. These guys procure THE BEST wines in the world and are experts! We truly left with our hearts (& bellies) FULL. Chef Timothy Wastell and Tynan knock it out of the park! Thank you for making this a truly memorable experience!

When we had signed up for the Harvest Lunch at Antica Terra, we had no idea what to expect other than a wine tasting with a reasonable selection of vittles. We walked away from the experience having been completely blown away! The food here easily stands up to, if not exceeds, the standards we've come to expect only from Michelin starred restaurants. In hindsight, perhaps the hefty price tag ($195 per guest) might have telegraphed this, but it was a welcome surprise in any case. Every dish served in our private, moodily lit tasting room was impressive. To start, the fresh baked dill bread was fresh, the snacks all delightful (particularly the lamb tartare with caviar), and the crudité and salad plates tasted like the produce were harvested that morning. The highlight of the meal was the cedar roasted sablefish, the delicate fish seasoned beautifully with sweet, smoked miso. The oak roasted lamb was also delicious, but the cut was a bit tougher than we were expecting. The seasonal strawberry and elderflower pizzelle brought a tart and sweet end to the meal. Our sommelier, who also acted as our host and main server, was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the meal, and tried her best to give us wines best suited to our palate. Not being wine connoisseurs, we certainly didn't do her any favors in helping to select the best pairings. Overall, we thought the wines were fine, and did not purchase any for the ride home. If you find yourself in Portland, it is definitely worth the trip, and the price, to enjoy the Harvest Lunch at Antica Terra!

The wine tasting was a delightful experience! The ambiance, food, wine and staff were top notch. Our personal sommelier, Art, was attentive, knowledgable and passionate about everything. He made us feel very welcome and answered all our questions without making us feel like novices. It's a little pricy, but we'll worth it

Amazing and a hint, don't judge a book by its cover! The place gives you a first-hand look at the operations of wine making and blows you away at the end of the tour with a very intimate and sweet wine tasting/dining room with some amazing wines. The hosts were top-notch people who spent as much time as we needed talking about the wines and just having a great hour talking with my party about themselves and their lives. I will forever be a fan. Thank you!

Don't judge the book by the cover! We did the collective tasting with seven wines and some fantastic crudités. The winemaker is from Sine Qua Non and fell in love with the unique aspects of this property. We had an amazing time! Recommend doing a trial of the Ceras vs the Botanical to see your preferences wrt Pinots. A must do!

The wines are way over priced. There are much better wines at much less cost than these.

Amity Vineyards has been around for a long time. I've always been meaning to get up here and I…read morefinally made it up their way. Black Friday for me usually means avoid all stores and shopping. There is no deal I need or anything I need bad enough. That said this seemed like a great alternative. Their tasting is $8 this includes 5 wines to taste and they also brought us a little plate of olives, crackers and almonds. We purchased one wine which waive one of our tasting fees. I have to say I really loved all their wines. When you walk in their tasting area may seem a little primitive and not as fancy as some you see in places in the McMinnville AVA, however, the service was great and friendly. The server indicated that had just recently been bought out by Union wines which produces Underwood wine and is based out of Tualatin. This must have been a real recent purchase as neither of their websites reflect that. All in all a good solid group of reds and whites. Stop by and give them a try. I know I'll be back again.

They have the best wines I have ever had! Love their Late Harvest Rieling (sweet dessert wine)…read morewhich I believe is termed an "ice wine". They also had a sweet "Wedding Song Riesling" which was my 2nd favorite. My friend enjoyed the Eco-Wine Pinot Noir, which was what she bought. The tasting fee was incredible, I think it was like $5 for 8 or 10 tastes. I lost track of how many tastes we had. And then they waived our tasting fee as well. I had so much fun and had such a great time at this winery! Out of all the wineries we went to in the Salem area, this was definitely my favorite. And the staff was super informative. They were so friendly and nice, very helpful. Not only that but one of there wine specialists was super hot too! Nice eye candy :)

When we arrived at Dukes yesterday, the server asked if we had reservations. We did not. "Well,"…read moreshe huffed, "we're pretty full right now." I counted five (5) empty tables. We thought Dukes was pet-friendly, and we saw two (2) large dogs lying on the concrete beside a table. One of them got up and lumbered toward ours (a 17-pound rescue). Intimidated, our little dog barked exactly once, prompting an employee to storm outside. Scowling, he said pets were absolutely not allowed. "We had a dog bite last year," he said grimly, oblivious to the other canines already present. Proverbial tales between our legs, we left, feeling pretty crappy--especially since we drove almost forty minutes out of our way to visit this winery. PS: Here is the initial response by Dukes Family Vineyards which they posted and quickly removed: "Your dog barked and snipped in a very aggressive manner twice upon arrival. You were asked to leave by the owner after he heard your dog being aggressive. Sorry about the disappointment, however; we had several patrons that witness your arrival and they thanked us for not letting you stay." PPS: To Dukes Family Vineyards: Your response, and your suggestion my chihuahua was "very aggressive" is completely absurd. My wife was carrying him. The instant she set him down, a much-larger dog came straight over and got in his face. Ours barked once. (He was frightened.) Please answer this question: Why are other dogs allowed to be there if your establishment isn't pet-friendly? Also: we were not "asked to leave." Your server told us you were "full," despite the number of empty tables. Your claim that several patrons witnessed our arrival and then thanked you for not letting us stay makes you (and them) sound like creeps. Further, your withdrawn statement illustrates for potential customers the way you will judge and treat them.
