I left my initial negative review on June 11, 2024, regarding Brooks refusal to return to my home to remove gopher traps they supposedly set, although I had paid for June service. I went with a new pest company, and today, June 17th, the company arrived and inspected the dirt mounds the Brooks technicians had flagged. He started laughing, and told me the guy had merely dug out a chunk of sod, placed the trap upside down, and put the sod back!! There was no tunnel, just a random hole that he dug and flagged. And he did it four times on my lawn! No tunnels, just a hole. Thanks for wasting my time and selling a service that wasn't provided. This company does not care at all. read more

I hired them to rid of the fleas and ticks in my front and back yard. The initial fee was $99.00 and the monthly fee is $60.00. They come every other month. They sprayed the yard 4 times and did not get rid of the problem and my dog has fleas and tick bites on his back. Complained to them and wants to cancel and told me I have to pay cancellation fees of $250.00. Paid them $339.00 for nothing. And they keep texting me of the cancellation fee. Very rude, unprofessional and a scam, so I used brooks for a few months and pests continued to get worse as if they were feeding or attracting them, my mom before she passed away had orkin and never had issues, after she passed I had to cancel everything and get the estate in order. so after several months, a Brooks salesperson came to the door and sold me service. After I seen it wasn't working I emailed them to cancel 4/26/2024 and today after their tech came out and the charged me I called them and they gave me some BS about they sent me an email stating that I could not cancel through email and that I had to call an email I didn't see until today I tried to ask them after they told me it would be a 200.00 fee to cancel the contract early if they could just use the 180 they already took and I would give them the other $20 to make the 200 since I did ask to cancel back in April they told me know the guy was extremely rude and when I asked to talk to a supervisor he said he was the highest person there was and would not connect me to anybody else I've already reported this to my bank as I have the email showing that I asked on April 26th to cancel my bank has already refunded my money and I'm sure they will take it up with the company but I want you to be aware of the slimy company. TERRIBLE customer service! They claim to be able to take care of gophers, but then only come out once a month which I'm realizing will NEVER take care of the issue. I called to cancel their "service" and they said it would automatically charge me $200. My yard looks like TRASH from the gophers. Wayyyy worse than when I first got their service. Now they want me to call every time I want them to come out. So I guess I'll be calling weekly. When trying to get customer service supervisors, they just pass the calls among the phone team. They threatened me and called me names. We signed up to use Brooks late last year and our experience so far is not great. They're unreliable and cancel or simply don't show up without notice, when they do show up they will tell you what they're going to do and not do it, and their customer service is poor and they don't tell their techs what they need to know to be prepared for a job. The initial sales guy was super nice and we've spoken to one customer service person who was a good listener, which is the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars, but their service isn't great otherwise. The worst company we have dealt with in recent memory. We left our previous service even though we were somewhat happy with them to give the door to door sales guy from Brooks a chance. Now I'm remembering why there's a quote "When it's not broke, don't fix it." Our spider and mosquito issue almost immediately got worse after signing with them. They only halfway performed the service we signed up for and it took a ton of energy and time for us to schedule and get someone on the phone. We used them for about 10 weeks. After a month of back-and-forth, and their team promising to make everything better we decided to cancel. Spencer even told us they would be willing to waive the fee but when we actually decided to cancel they said they would not waive the fee and they charged our credit card $241. this company is terribly run, and I believe they are getting desperate to keep clients. They sprayed 2x, the black widow spiders are worse then we have EVER had, the tech called in July and cancelled saying the office will contact me to reschedule. Never happened.. I powerwashed my house because it is so full of spiderwebs and could not believe the amount of spiders! I tried to cancel, they are holding the contract over my head and keep telling me the spiders are there because their product is working and flushing them out.. BS. O stars would be a kindness this company doesn't deserve. I've never had such a terrible experience with a pest control company. They never look to resolve any issue you call them about, in the 6 months I have been forced to have this service ( because they won't waive their cancellation fee even though they know the service they provide is abysmal) I've had to call them back for the "complimentary" service that is free of charge if you're not satisfied with the initial treatment. Let me just say, one is worse than the other! I've had to plead with the technicians to please spray throughly, to check traps, to knock down webs, mind you, they don't cut me a check to train their employees on how to do their job correctly! And even in doing that, they still half as$ the job! It's infuriating dealing with this company! Truly truly infuriating. 0/10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!! The cancerous fumes from a bottle of Raid is looking way better than this company at this point! UPDATE! We noticed some wasp nests and hired Brooks Pest to assist. Unfortunately, the problem worsened after their first visit, with angry wasps that made new homes in the grass. I requested they return to assist with the problem, but they weren't available for 8 days. When they did return, they said the nests had been removed and did not think the angry wasps living on the lawn were their problem. We called another vendor who fixed the problem immediately. When I requested to stop Brooks services, they insisted on returning quarterly or I would be charged a higher fee if I canceled. Very frustrated. read more

After seeing a Black Widow spider in my yard, I googled pest control and they were the first to come up. I was understandably worried about these spiders hurting my family and was bullied into signing an annual contract with the promise of no more insect issues. After an initial positive appointment, it is clear they turn your home over to subcontractors or poorly trained technicians who show up hours late, do not give you the text 30 minutes before showing and generally do a sub-par job. Every appointment since the first has been quick and less than thorough. We still have insect issues and have the annoyance and pain of dealing with these people every month until our mandatory contracted period runs out. Save your money and buy a can of Raid. It wouldn't do any worse. read more

The contract didn't meet my expectations! Customer Service was great as Well as their tech, but in speaking with Customer Service they did hesitate to get that additional service. And didn't get the service they promised. They told me everything to make me want to sign up, and then when there is a problem. Like termites. They tell you to call someone else. To just google it. Also they send people out to your home that want to spray the wrong area, and then run. My backyard was never taken care of. The hang a note on your door telling you that you got service and in small writing on back of door, they say that service was only done on front yard. Not around the house. I called to cancel service and they charged me. As soon as I hung up they charged my credit card. This service is a Rip off. Never will i tell anyone to use them. This company is absolute TRASH. We have actual camera footage of the sales rep stating if we moved, we would not be charged. We also have IN WRITING with the company that they would cancel our services free of charge. Now they are going back on their word and trying to charge regardless even though we no longer LIVE AT THE RESIDENCE! They state that because my boyfriend said "I don't THINK we are moving soon" that they will no longer honor their words in a WRITTEN email. They don't seem to understand that sometimes life happens. They are a cruel and corrupt company that will try to steal from you and make up reasons that seem logical to them. My boyfriend and I moved in with family and they are starting we HAVE to take over one of their utility bills in order to cancel service or they will continue to charge his bank account regardless of consent. An individual came to my door and I specifically wanted to know that the service was only on a month-to-month basis, I signed an electronic pen pad which I didn't realize I was signing a 12 month contract (they later emailed me) in spite of what the individual had told me at my front door! The service was substandard in that it did not remove fire ants or the mosquitoes that they claimed, and when I went to cancel they tried to charge me $250, I'm currently having to "work out" the issue with them giving me a lower price for the remainder of the 12 month contract! As hard as I tried, I couldn't give Brooks a higher rating than 1. First, a comment on performance...I had a spider and occasional ant problem. They never solved it or even addressed it. In fact the spider problem has grown significantly since I signed up with Brooks. Now, on trying to cancel. My contract ended after a 1.5 year period. I dutifully waited until that end of contract to cancel service. When I tried to do so, they would not accept my termination request via email, which I wanted because I like to have a record of such things. I was made to call a service center, which put me into a que that never got me to assistance. I tried again, and after 25 waiting, I finally got a service assistant, but he was not in the country, so he said he had to put me in touch with a supervisor. After waiting another 15 minutes, I got a supervisor who insisted I was under contract for 6 more months even though I had the contract in front of me. Brooks is one of those companies who, when you want to cancel, they put up obstacles and stall. I strongly suggest you either avoid them, as they didn't solve my pest problem, or if you do go with them you triple check the contract terms and make sure you keep a copy. I did, but it didn't help. I'm still awaiting them to acknowledge I am cancelled, which makes me a bit uncomfortable. ' Lesson.....avoid Brooks, there are better companies who are more reputable. read more

Beware of scam and misrepresented fees. The owner, Gage spoke to my wife about providing pest service in our new home. He initially came off as very kind and open. He was attempting to enter in our new market in Garland and offered to give us a discount for services if we gave him a try. We were hesitant because we are a single income family with a young child but due to his sincerity we decided to try the service. Since signing up, our financial circumstances have changed. We have called multiple times to cancel services. Each time we are told it is canceled only to be charged again. During our most recent call they informed use that there would be a fee to cancel early so they are placing our account on hold. These interactions feel like gym membership scams. I would strongly advise you seek other pest control options. read more
