We've had a contract with Moxie for over two years, and I have not found resolution with my pest issues with them. Today, we ended our contract with them and thought it high time to review our experiences. Once, I had a technician do a seven minute job on my entire property. Impressive! They just do a crappy perimeter spray and then dip. They promise to sweep spider webs, but that is often a step skipped. The extra rodent service I pay for is often skipped, leaving my bait stations unfilled and ineffective. These guys require major hand-holding, which is an unfair thing to ask since I'm paying a premium price. Customer service tends to be fine, no complaints, but they are hella aggressive with texting me for termite inspections, a service I do not use with them. I had to explicitly call customer service repeatedly to have them stop sales-calling me. I have had a rampant clothes moths infestation for eight months. I called Moxie to have them come out and treat, they told me the service was going to be hundreds of dollars additional. AND I'd have to remove all my clothes from each closet. Myself. I declined this (obviously), so the dude came and gave me six pheromone traps that attracted approximately three moths. The ones I buy from Amazon (Dr. Killington's) were attracting 40-50 moths per trap. BTW, we're switching to Ork!n, whose monthly service contract is actually cheaper AND includes rodents, clothes + pantry moths at no additional cost. I thoroughly enjoyed trying to cancel my contract with their "Account Manager" - nothing like being rudely hassled and over-talked. I felt like I was trying to cancel my internet with Charter, it's the same gross vibe. All around, this seems like a scuzzy business. If you want improved pricing, threaten to cancel and they'll sell you the moon. But remember: hand-holding and lightning speed, half-assed service is also part of your relationship with Moxie! read more

Pest company was charging quarterly with free warranty in between treatment cycles. We paid our quarterly bill in Oct (should cover Oct through Dec) and was charged a monthly fee in Nov. They said billing was switched from quarterly to monthly. Spent over 20 minutes with the rep and the supervisor that they are overcharging me by 2 months but kept getting resistance. Explained math but they didn't seem to understand it means I'm being overcharged by 2 months. Finally was switched back for quarterly. Beware of this business overcharging and insisting they understand math when they don't. Also this happened the day after we called them to come pick up the dead mouse in our backyard. They didn't get the mouse, it was literally next to the bait trap under the grill. read more

Don't waste your time or money with any rodent services. I do use them for regular bug spray services, and it has been successful in keeping our property relatively bug free. However the rodent services have been such a rip off, I am beginning to question wether the bug spray is really worth the money. Experience with our rodent problem cost $500 for the guy to put 2 traps immediately at the attic entrances (they will not enter your attic or crawl spaces ever). It then appeared he was done and ready to leave without asking any questions, even though all of our activity was inside the house- we had to request the technician to come inside. After learning where the activity was he still set no traps inside, just handed us a package of 2 glue traps and left without discussing anything about the "outside review" of our house. I complained to customer service and had to argue and settle for a 100$ credit on our account, and sent a "lead" technician to replace the first poor service. The second guy was definitely better, he let us ask questions but still didn't do much. They only checked in once after that and that's time just dropped traps at the front door. read more

I strongly advise against signing up with Moxie Pest Control. Here's why: They bill you regularly but don't provide the service as promised. If you have a dog in the backyard, they simply skip that area instead of finding a solution. When you follow up, they don't respond or take accountability. They lure you in with friendly service at first, but once you're locked into their contract, the experience changes completely. Breaking the contract costs $300-$400, which feels like a trap. This review is related to billing only. I had the exact same issue as the reviewer "J.S." on Nov 7, 2025 but I just discovered it on my account today. As a contracted customer for regular service, they automatically charged my card on file in November for quarterly billing -- which is definitely for the 3 future months (Nov/Dec/Jan) -- not the prior 3 months like the customer service agent tried to tell me. Then in both December and January I was automatically charged a monthly fee. They double charged me for those 2 months! The agent said he would raise the issue to a manager who would refund my account for those monthly charges, and begin the monthly charges in February. I told the agent that I hope the manager audits ALL customer accounts for this billing issue because surely I'm not the only one this happened to. From the very first contact, they were fast, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable -- especially when it came to helping me get rid of the water bugs that had become a real nuisance. We had an ant infestation (more than usual). My husband called Moxie from Riverside and the sent a man out for a review of our house and property outside. He was great and we seemed to have less ants in the house. It cost $129. They agreed to come out again 4-5 weeks. It cost $199. Essentially it is $800 for the a year: $200/quarter service to continue. We work in our back yard a lot and there are SO many ants (everywhere)! My husband called them and they seem to not treat everywhere as we expected. My husband cancelled the contract and they charged him $170 to cancel (what??). This fee seems outrageous. Services helped inside our house, but not outside as promised. We feel disappointed. read more

I started their service May of 2025 not realizing I was locked into a year contract, because I was not informed of this, otherwise I never would have signed up. If your service stands behind its claims then I would gladly keep the service. First visit I had the inside of my home and garage sprayed, and the parameter of the house. I was specifically told this would not kill off honey bees, birds, or lizards as this was my second concern outside of the health of my family and I. Immediately after, I started noticing dead bees all around the parameter of my home all while spiders and ants were still thriving. Second visit I opted out of the inside of my home being sprayed as I was concerned about exposure to the chemicals in the spray and only had the outside parameter sprayed. I have a swimming pool and because I wasn't following the Moxie rep while he sprayed I noticed he was spraying areas around my pool where the chemicals would easily end up in the pool. I called them with my concerns and they told me $200 to cancel my service. They DO NOT live up to their claims of it not killing honey bees. I'm like most people on here and I wish I would have read the reviews first. Good luck with this place. I'm opting for a safer alternative and one that does not involve a contract. read more

I needed a pest control company and my neighbor had mentioned that she used Moxie so I went on their site and saw they were having a special and reached out to make an appointment. They were fast to reply and were very thorough about explaining their service and the steps they take and I had my first visit today and the tech that came out was super nice and patient with my questions and very respectful of the property. So far i am impressed with the service and I feel better knowing I have a solid pest control company coming to my home to spray. Door to door sales reps who don't leave even after ignoring no soliciting signs and being asked to leave more than 5 times are reason enough to not recommend this company. You don't need to know who is currently servicing us and should take the hint that I'm not interested when I'm actively vacuuming my car on my property you feel you're allowed to be on. If Moxie can let us know how to be on their do not disturb list so I can share that information with my entire community who is also being harrassed several times a day for 5 days now, that would be great. Also, a gated community that literally has a "no soliciting" sign on the front of it should be reason enough to not follow a resident in. It's not a welcome sign. read more

I am sorry to say that I can no longer recommend Moxi Pest Control. They need to do a better job at honoring a customer's request to receive a notification prior to scheduling a service date and not just schedule based on their convenience. After being with them for so long, you'd think they would have notes saying I have dogs that need to be kept inside when they are coming. I obviously can't bring them in if I am not home. This happened multiple times. The quality of services have also deteriorated. I have had to have technicians return because the webbing was not removed which also means they likely did not treat that area either. I was having to walk the property to point out the problem areas, Then I had to walk again at the end to ensure everything was taken care of. My suggestion is to assign the same technician each time so that they are familiar with what needs to be done. I have the same gardener and pool person come and never have an issue. Moxie would do well to keep the same technicians servicing the same properties; in all the years we were with Moxie, I think we only had the same person once. Do better Moxie, I didn't leave because I no longer needed the service; now I need to find another company that emphasizes quality and customer satisfaction. read more

Issac was so professional and respectful of our property. The addition of the mosquito buckets seem to have worked already. This time of year I'm usually being feasted upon by them whenever I go in the backyard. I can honestly say that since Moxie's initial treatment and placement of the buckets, I have not seen one mosquito let alone being bit. I'm not sure what kind of mosquito voodoo or magic they performed, but I couldn't be happier. I formerly had Orkin and I was constantly being bit. I am very very happy they knocked on my door that day and switched. I couldn't be more happy with this company. Great communication, on time and professional. Someone from Moxie knocked on my door to try to sell me services. I said no several times and then he asked to use my restroom. I have empathy for the folks walking around doing this job, but I'm not letting a stranger into my home. He then made some derogatory comments about my porch because *gasp*, there's a spiderweb! AKA, nature's pest control. As he left, he deliberately knocked something off of my porch railing onto the ground. Guess he didn't know I had a camera. I'll be sure to let all my friends and neighbors know. I see a lot of people saying it's just the sales folks and we shouldn't let that affect how we feel about the rest of the company. They said they treated our front yard with pesticide granules but there is no evidence of said treatment. charged my credit card and said the service was completed but did not go into the backyard which was part of the service contract because the gate was locked. They arrived an hour earlier than the appointment time, and we were not home. They also did not dust the eves in the front yard for cob webs which is also part of our service agreement. I called and cancelled the service and they refused to refund my first charge if $99. I reported it to the Better Business Bureau and my credit card company. Soliciting at 9pm in Upland, CA on 7/8/25. My lights were off, I was in bed and a Moxie rep repeatedly knocking on door. I opened the door and explained that this is way too late to be going door to door telling me you have slot available tomorrow. Upland has a 7pm cutoff for solicitation. The rep completely ignored my polite decline and lack of interest in any services. Please talk to your reps and coach them on local solicitation laws along with respecting a declination of service. I would never go with a company so aggressive and unlawful. Next stop is the BBB and local law enforcement when the rep isn't taking no for an answer and it's after 7pm. read more

Had a technician come out to remove a wasp nest. I wasn't here when it was removed otherwise I would have questioned it then. He "removed" it , left it on the floor of my front patio, scratched up my door trimming and left this mess. I called customer service to have him come back to clean it. He told my mom no where on his work order was to clean this up and refused to do it. I talked to him on the phone telling him he was to clean his mess. Not an I'm sorry, if I can't clean it I can find someone who can, just talking to me like I was a fault. He left without doing a thing. I've been with Moxie for over ten years. I equal it to taking vitamins or medication--you think they're not doing anything for you until you stop. I remember all too well my ant-infested home during the summer in my pre-Moxie days to know it's worth the price. Yeah sometimes I have to call them to come back because the young kid they send didn't do such a thorough job removing the spider webs, but they never question it and they always do. And then there's someone like Christopher D., who very thorough, especially treating for snails in problem areas. I run a daycare in my home and he came knocking on my door right in the middle of kids napping, which triggered my dog to bark, which woke my kids. I opened the door obviously upset, pointed to my sign and told him I wasn't interested. He proceeded with his sales pitch regardless. I told him he woke my kids, but he could care less. I signed up with a year contract discounting the first visit, the contract said if I wanted to cancel early that it would be $150 which was the discounted price of the first visit. I thought id give them a try since I needed mostly ant and spider control and the rep told me "it's the same stuff they use in daycares and nursing homes" and that it was safe around kids and pets and assured me the honey bees that visit my yard would be left alone, this was important to me. So they came and sprayed the first visit, less than 15 mins total. They sprayed inside too and told me it should be dry within 15 mins and pets and kids could come out. I had PUDDLES of this crap for hours and had to take my kids and pets out while I waited for it to just dry. The second visit was 3-4 weeks later and weird things just happened since Moxie showed up. First, the honey bees that were supposed to be safe? They kept dropping dead by the dozens in my front yard day after day we were sweeping them up. Second, 30 mins after their second visit, as we were in the front yard, a little sparrow fell out of a low palm branch and started having a seizure and died right in front of us. Third, guess who always stayed alive and thriving absolutely unaffected by the spraying. The ants and spiders. 100% thriving. So when they notified me via email the same morning they were coming for their 3rd visit, I called the office as it opened to cancel the service. The account manager, I want to say her name was Ashley? told me she could cancel that day, that it was $150. I understand I signed the contract for a year and that was the cancelation fee. Here's my argument though: the product that they sold me has not only been wildly ineffective for its intended purpose, it is dangerous, and they have failed to provide the service as it was assured to me. Her argument is that they could have come out free of charge to do additional sprays if they knew I was still having bugs and therefore were not in breech of contract. If I'm telling you it's killing things it's not supposed to, why on earth would I call you to come and spray MORE of this poison?? I should have done more research on what it is they spray, they provide you with the list in their contract. It's 30 something pesticides. I told her some of these chemicals ARE dangerous around pets, she said no they're not, and I said that I understand she tells me this based on info the company has provided for her to say but she herself is not knowledgeable on chemicals, their neurotoxicity, or developing their formula. As an example, one of their ingredients is Permethrin, highly toxic to cats. I have two cats. It was a lengthy conversation but the highlights were... -There is nobody above her in the world to speak to, SHE is IT. -That I am not a chemist myself either so "where are you getting your information from?" -in regards to the dead bird: "well did you take it in to a vet to confirm it died of a seizure?" (Im sorry....what?!? ) -The dead bees must be coincidental So another account manager was supposed to give me a call back so see if we could resolve our issues within 24-48hrs. Nobody ever did and after a month they just charged me the $150 and sent me a receipt via email without half a word. oh, the guy still showed up to spay later that day. Had to send him away. I'm attaching pics of the dead bees, and the not so dead everything else I had over the summer. Save yourself a headache guys. read more

We started with Moxie when we first moved in. The individual servicemen were usually helpful but over the last year as a corporation they stopped providing half the services under our rate plan. No warning, no options, just stopped. We didn't know until we started having problems with rats being left in their traps outdoors and ants coming in. Customer service was not helpful, just told us it was no longer covered and that's how they kept rates low. No offer of a different package, no offer to take care of it this time, just stating that it changed. So we switched. read more
