My wife and I have been going to this Brookfields for close to 15 years. The food for the most part has been above average. We realize that due to a variety of reasons the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have increased. That is not the reason behind this review. Today we stopped for breakfast and could not believe how loud the thrashing of dirty dishes and silverware was. The noise drowned out the normal restaurant chatter. Typical diner style restaurant. Reminded me of Cracker Barrel. Food was average, fair size servings. Bacon was crisp, eggs cooked thoroughly. Unfortunately, I ordered the Homemade Corn Beef Hash. I absolutely love Brookfield's in Roseville. We go at least once a week sometimes twice. We have our favorite servers, Kayla W. and Brooke. Fresh squeezed OJ is number one. All the food is delicious, homemade style and freshly made, daily. ONLY reason for 4 instead of five stars? They do not make real Hollandaise Sauce. Overall a great experience and good food. This is the first time myself and my family have been to this restaurant. Throughout the meal our waitress was extremely attentive. I had the Chile Verde omelet. The eggs were the prefect American style omelet, cooked through but still soft and fluffy. The pork was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the omelet. The potatoes were not my style. I prefer fried potatoes and these were essentially baked potatoes smashed into a rectangle and slightly grilled. They were fine just not my style. The wife seemed to enjoy them. The muffin was very small but tasted good. The wife got the pancake stack. She really enjoyed the pancakes. The bacon strips were huge and looked cooked properly. The child got a children's meal of dollar pancakes. She loved it. We shared a strawberry shake. What can I say, real ice cream, tasted great, came with the extra amount of shake in mixing container that couldn't be filled in the glass. The prices were reasonable. Wonderful food as always. First time trying this location and it did not disappoint. The staff are incredibly kind and gracious. While sitting there enjoying my meal, I heard two different employees get unnecessarily scolded by other customers over trivial matters. Both times, their staff responded positively without a grudge. They work hard to keep the restaurant clean and have a variety of menu options ranging from breakfast, lunch, and dinner that is served at all hours (I think). Four Sisters was closed on New Year's Day, so we found Brookfields on Yelp as an alternative. Their list of "made from scratch" foods was impressive, so we decided to try them out. We ordered a boysenberry scone, brioche French toast, skillet nachos, chicken enchiladas, and onion rings. The scone was very good, although toward the end became too sweet. It has a sugary glaze on it which probably put it over the top in terms of sweetness. The onion rings were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The nachos and enchiladas were pretty good, although they weren't as flavorful as the Mexican food we are used to. They brought their house-made salsa and also had many sauces available, including Cholula. Service was excellent--friendly and helpful. This is one of those rare places where other servers will (voluntarily) help out tables that are not their own. A busy server even stopped to say goodbye when we were leaving. A tip: sign up for the online payment service Zapper (info will be printed on the check) to save $7 on your first payment. My dad, sisters and I eat at this location often when we meet. There is something for all of our very, very different tastes in food here. We always have personal instructions for our food, and they are always obliging. Everyone here is nice. We have always had good service. Our server the past few times we've visited has been Vinny. He is one of the nicest and most attentive people I've come across in any restaurant. The food is also consistent. I nearly always order the same item, and it is always as I expect it. They're always there for you while you look over their shoulder at the new person on the block and wonder what they've got going on. I ended up here tonight because I was going to meet a friend at In-N-Out next door. As I pulled into the parking lot, I saw In-N-Out's parking lot was packed... thought "eff this'... hit redial on the phone and called an audible - "negative on the In-N-Out, but keep coming same direction - Brookfields, next door". And just like that, my future was changed from a three-item menu (good, don't get me wrong) in a crowded environment to a peaceful existence in a relaxing booth and a comprehensive menu covering much more territory. I had the sesame encrusted seared ahi, which was great! It came on a bed of rice, which I didn't eat a whole lot of (because I usually don't)... and a nice selection of veggies. Good stuff. The texture seemed old like it was just microwaved because the batter was soggy and not even sticking to the meat. It was really bland, I don't even know if they even seasoned it with anything. My husband loves this place. He would come here regularly (if he had the money for it) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is one of his favorite places to eat; I'm just like okay, good for him. For me personally, the food is just okay in my opinion. I'm not sure what the hype is all about for him. I'm more of a Mimi's Cafe girl to be honest. But the one thing I LOVE about Brookfield's is the customer service. Every waitress, waiter, and hostess we have come across has been very kind, personable, friendly and warm. I noticed every time we come here, this place is packed and I'm thinking it is because of the customer service because good customer service goes a long way and it will make your experience with Brookfield's a very enjoyable and pleasurable one. First time at this location and I have to say their Rancho restaurant is better than this one in terms of customer service. I was very disappointed with our server Rose, she did the bare minimum like a machine and was not very friendly or welcoming. The younger lady (didn't notice her name) who took over from Rose right before we left was better, I wish we had her from the start. Customer service aside, they have a great atmosphere, the menu was very extensive and reasonably priced and we enjoyed all the food/drinks we tried. We ordered Tuna melt with Sweet a Potato fries, Cheese enchiladas and Mac and cheese from kids menu. The kids menu came with a drink, we chose Hot Chocolate. I came here with some family who were driving through town and stopped in for a quick bite. I love that Brookfields is easy to get to off of the 80 and parking is easy. We came earlier in the evening, so it wasn't super crowded. The restaurant is very clean and spacious, with just the right amount of noise. Noisy enough that I felt comfortable being myself, but not so noisy that i couldn't hear people on the other side of the table. The food was tasty and served at the right temperature. There are a LOT of choices on the menu! They had some vegetarian options. It would be nice if they had a few more, but I was satisfied. There are some delicious looking desserts sitting in the front display case. We didn't try any, but maybe when I come back again I'll come hungrier! All the staff there were very nice and the ambiance was welcoming and we felt very comfortable staying as long as we wanted to. All in all a very positive experience and I will come again. read more

My buddy is a Celiac. He gets very ill if he has gluten. I did a quick yelp seach for gluten free and this place came up. After a few stops we found ourselves here. Right off the freeway...but confusing to get to. Don't miss the exit if you are heading east. Anyway, we were the standard evil customers asking questions at every turn and the staff was helpful and more than willing to give answers or at least get the answers from someone who knows. I ordered strangely because we hadn't had breakfast, yet it was already the afternoon. So I ordered the soup and salad. $7 and then the lighter fare omelet. I should have passed on the omelet. It wasn't that great and it's price point wasn't that good either. But the soup and salad were reasonably priced and the chicken tortilla soup was REALLY good. Good enough to hit this place in the future trips over the hill to Sacramento. The restaurants atmosphere was nice and standard chain feel with lots of woods and booths. If you are gluten free. Got home with our food. Husband's french dip is missing the aujus sauce, he called they were very sorry, he went back, got the sauce and they gave a desert.
