Drunken mussels
Julia K.

We took a hiatus coming here for a while after the menu had changed and didn't offer enough options for gluten/grain free & pescatarian diets. The new menu looked more promising so we decided to come back. Service is still great - friendly & quick, and the beer is fabulous. With spring in full swing the ample seating outside is a large plus. The menu has some better options again too. The drunken mussels tasted amazing, and the loaded fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and came as a generous portion. The salads provide good gluten free options now though it would have been nice to be able to get the hummus with just some vegetables, rather than just offering gluten free wonton chips as alternative to pita.

Good bites. Great music. Excellent beer.friendly people ready to take care of you. I love the noise cancelling panels on the ceiling. It feel like a cool bar with high ceilings but you can still hold a decent conversation. Outs side seating is pretty cool too

My family stopped here on our way home to the Lehigh Valley from Boston. This brewpub wasn't far off the beaten path and had decent crowd for a Sunday. Our server was friendly and gave us some good recommendations on beer and food. The counterparts on also recommend a beer to take home, which I did. The food was fantastic. I ordered a peach salad special and my wife had a smash burger with onion rings. Others in our party ordered the smash burger and there were no complaints! Highly recommend if you're in the area or traveling through.

Great find on a Wednesday night thanks to some Yelp reviews. Had the family on a trip to Central CT for a wedding and wanted a beer and dinner. Beers were good, food was even better. And... it's located in and old strain station. We were seated right away but place was very busy for a Wednesday. For food we got the BLT sliders, Philly steak and everything pretzel. Our son got a grilled cheese. The sliders were the star, small with perfect blend of ingredients and crispy bacon. Pretzel and Philly were decent too. Our son's grilled cheese was fair and he loved the fries. The beers were tasty and nice variety. Off street parking and air conditioned on a hot night.

Might be our favorite place around town. We came first for the beers which are excellent. The Nimbus is my favorite but honestly haven't had one we don't enjoy! After a while we started trying the food and wow! Didn't expect a brewery to have such amazing food. The sandwiches are amazing, we love the Bahn Mi and my family is obsessed with the chicken cutlet sandwich. The truffle pretzel is also a favorite, as was the seasonal trout dip. Their cocktails are pretty good too! The staff is fun and friendly! We always feel comfortable. Lastly, both the indoor and outdoor seating are comfortable- a great summer spot! Dog friendly tables are a bonus!!

Perfect birthday celebration with great food and amazing beers like the belle curve and warp factor!!! So excited! Also don't miss the Mary Jane cocktail. Big yum

Fries - don't come with sandwich FYI

Love the food here when I'm in the neighborhood. Hubby had the burger and i had the corned beef - we ordered a side off fries - men was a little confusing that they possibly were included but they clarified when we asked. Food is soooo good - I enjoyed the blonde beer and hubby had the Courage beer that provides $$ to veterans -both were good and we left with a mixed variety 4 pack. the only reason they don't get a 5 is the food is a bit pricey.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch on a hot summer day! Cold beer and a Caprice Foccacia sandwich and a tasty Peach Salad with grilled chicken.

Broken Symmetry is a craft brewpub that opened in Bethel, Connecticut in March 2018. It was founded by brewers Chris Sanzeni and Kevin Arrington, restaurateur Lisa Tassone, and chef Paul Mannion. Tassone has been a restaurateur for over 29 years and also owns the Bethel restaurants La Zingara and Vesta Rooftop. Sanzeni worked as an engineer for several years but also brewed on the side. Mannion is an accomplished chef who ran the Danbury-based Mexican food truck 'The Green Grunion' for many years. The partners all got together with a vision of opening a brewpub in Bethel. They felt that a brewpub (as opposed to bars and restaurants) would attract a different clientele to the downtown area. After scouting a number of possibilities, the old Bethel Train Depot became available. Built in 1899, the little station serviced the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad (now the Danbury Branch of Metro-North Railroad) before it closed down in 1996 and a new station opened nearby. After closing, it was home to a bicycle shop for 15 years. The partners named the new venture 'Broken Symmetry' as a nod to Sanzeni's physics background. As of 2024, Tassone and Mannion are no longer affiliated with the brewpub; Eric Genuario is the current executive chef. My son and I recently stopped at Broken Symmetry for weekend brunch. We were visiting the nearby Danbury Railway Museum and decided to continue our fun train-themed day with a stop at the brewpub. My son and I absolutely love trains and we loved the brewpub's design and decor. The interior is very nice with additional seating outside; you can still see Metro-North trains going by every so often. The house beers are mainly Belgian-style and the food menu features burgers and sandwiches, salads, and various shareable plates. To eat, my son had "Chicken Nuggets" (with side of fries and ketchup) from the Kid's Menu while I had the "Brunchorizo" (chorizo, runny egg, Swiss cheese, guacamole, chimichurri aioli, pickled red onion, on brioche) with a side of "Beer Battered Onion Rings". I was pretty thirsty, so I ordered the sampler flight of nine that included an Extra Blond Ale, an American Lager, a Pilsner, a Dark Cherry Wheat Ale, a West Coast IPA, a Honey Saison, a Belgian Christmas Ale, a Double IPA, and a Belgian Quadrupel. All of the food was excellent and the beers were very flavorful and refreshing. The Double IPA (named "Nimbus") was my favorite and I ordered a four-pack to go. For dessert, my son and I split a delicious slice of "Oreo Mousse Cake" (light, fluffy cookie & cream mousse, chocolate cake). We had an excellent experience at Broken Symmetry and look forward to returning!

Kudos to the chef pumping out great food! Their selection of beers is pretty solid as is the food coming from the kitchen. Hand cut fries shareable is a must! Great specials on a daily basis as well. We came on a Friday night and were treated to live music as well.

Garlic bread with vodka sauce.

So good, family friendly. great drinks, it's a bit expensive but it's a nice treat from time to time. service is great, overall 5/5

Food quality / price (value) rating 7.5. The atmosphere is brewery in an old train station. They sell nine of their own draught beers, individually or by the flight. A limited menu is offered including a "smashburger" and other tavern style food. We shared a Smashburger with fries. The burger was in need of flavor, either some spices or searing maybe. The fries were frozen plastic bag type. I had a flight (4) that was pretty good, although nothing stood out. The service by Sidney was excellent.

Just a heads up: if you're looking for a quiet, kid-free drink, this probably isn't the place. But if you're a parent who wants a relaxed space where kids can run around and play while you supervise with a drink in hand, this works really well. The bartenders were friendly, and while I don't drink beer, the cider was decent. They also usually have live music, which adds to the atmosphere (just check the calendar before you go). My only downside was the food truck on-site (Walrus Outpost). Service and food were not great for us - see my separate review for that. The other food truck that offered Japanese snacks or light fare was really amazing. Every thing came out perfectly and without the attitude of the folks of Walrus Outpost when it comes to ordering or any feedback on their food. Overall, a really nice, low-key place to meet friends and let the kids get some energy out, especially on a warm evening.

The beers are fine, too many IPAs and while the other beers we tried were good, they did not stand out. The server was terrible. I asked her what beer they had that was not an IPA and she told me to read the menu. She could not tell me about the product she was selling... It was very off putting. She also did not bother bussing any tables, even thought she was responsible for the Biergarten space. Honestly, I hope their other staff are better.

The special app tonight was a "stretched" pork dumpling which might be one of the best apps I've ever had. Normally I'm a sucker for the bao buns at Foundry but these are even better. Hope they stay on the menu. Spicy tuna poke was great as usual. My NY strip hit the spot and the pork shoulder sandwich was greatly enjoyed by my accomplice. Good attention, chef came out for a visit too. Looking forward to returning to try the other new items!

My friend and I both had burgers, which were delicious -- but what were REALLY awesome were the french fries. Slim, perfectly cooked and salted -- hoo mama. Other reviewers have mentioned that the menu has more of an Asian influence -- this continues to be true, and in fact, when we return I'd like to try some of those more specifically Asian or Asian-inspired dishes. One thing I perceived, though, was that the pickles on the burger were brined in something that tasted almost seafood-y -- I'm allergic so I don't think it was actual fish sauce or something, but something that gave it a slight fishy taste, like when you have seaweed. Anyway, that was the only thing I didn't care for -- but it didn't bother me enough to not want to try again! We loved the ambience and the location was also super convenient with free parking in the back. I'll update my review after my next visit!

The restaurant was extremely busy and clearly understaffed -- there were only two servers working incredibly hard. Service was definitely slow, but I give them a lot of credit for doing their best under the circumstances. They were very gracious and even brought us a complimentary drink to apologize for the wait, which was a really nice touch. Despite the delays, the food was excellent. The nachos were great, the French dip and chicken sandwich were both very good, and honestly, the fries were some of the best I've ever had. We also tried their house-made beer, which was delicious. One thing to note is the layout of the restaurant. It's right next to (and partially within) the arcade, so it can get very loud with lots of kids running around and yelling. I can definitely see the appeal for parents -- being able to eat and have a drink while keeping an eye on their kids is a big plus. For those without kids or looking for a quieter, kid-free night, it's just something to be aware of. That said, I'd love to come back in the summer and sit on the outdoor deck along the water. Overall, a cool spot with great food.

"Good beer brings people together. Great breweries make you want to stay."…read more We came to Two Roads Brewing for a UConn alumni basketball watch party, and it turned out to be a really fun place to catch a game. The biggest highlight was easily the beer selection. The variety was impressive, with a wide range of styles that made it easy for everyone in our group to find something they enjoyed. Whether you prefer something light and crisp or something a little more bold, they seem to have a beer that fits the mood. Food was honestly the weaker part of the experience. It was fine and did the job, but it was not particularly memorable. Nothing was bad, it just did not stand out compared to how strong the drink program is. Service was excellent. The staff were extremely kind and attentive throughout the event. Even with a busy crowd watching the game, they stayed friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience feel welcoming. The ambiance is where Two Roads really shines. The brewery space is large, lively, and perfect for group gatherings. Watching a game there with a room full of fans creates a great energy, and the open brewery atmosphere gives the place a fun and social feel.
