Button for Bike To Work Day 2018
    Uli B.

I called Kevin from Broken Seals Buttons as I had somewhat of an emergency: the replacement parts for my 1 inch button maker wouldn't arrive on time for Bike To Work Day and yet I had helped plan a promotion at the office and buttons were one of the perks. Kevin knew the scenario all too well; apparently I wasn't the first customer who came to him with a similar situation. After our call, I sent Kevin the artwork for our button and he sent back a photo showing the finished sample button. Wow, that's great customer service. I was able to pick up the buttons from their "factory" in the Mission the next day. Speaking of factory; what surprised me very much is that even the pros like Kevin make buttons pretty much the same way as me who has one of these button makers. He still has to cut out the circles and then assemble each button one after another. I really would've thought that there's a "machine" for that...but the machine is a bunch of people standing a around a table and assembling buttons. Mindblown!

Broken Seal Buttons is the bomb!

Broken Seal Buttons is the bomb! This is the third time I've ordered a very special button from them. I need more buttons every couple years and the owner, Kevin, is fantastic. He does great work and has very fast turnaround. I would highly recommend them for all your button needs.

I love Broken Seal Buttons! I needed to order some buttons for work, but only needed about 30. Thats way too small for most big button companies, and I work at a small nonprofit so I try to keep costs at a minimum and avoid shipping. I'm so glad I found Broken Seal Buttons. Kevin was helpful in putting together a high quality design and sending me a proof within hours. Once I approved the proof, the buttons were done that day. So speedy! The price was great - less than a dollar for big buttons. They look fantastic and really professional. Of course I'm happy with the buttons, but also got the chance to chat with Kevin a bit when I picked them up. He is really kind and I'll be back to support his business in the future. Its a great small business run with a lot of heart, and I highly recommend! I'm already thinking of reasons to make more buttons!

This is why I will forever love Broken Seal Buttons: My office is having a housewarming party, and all the organizations housed in the office space planned to buy buttons for guest gifts. We had a week deadline to get these to our office, and we ordered from one company (with a terribly high printing and shipping premium), who then called us the next day and said they didn't have them in the size we wanted. 5 days to go till the party, I find Broken Seal, call Kevin, who says yes he can do it, and we should send a file over. He sends back a proof in less than an hour (which is an actual attached picture of our buttons, vs a digital proof), and we were able to print a special message on the curve of the button. We needed them shipped in time for the party, and they arrive on our doorstep 2 days before the event. In the meantime, the 3 other organizations in our collective were also delayed in purchasing their buttons, so they then reach out to Kevin 2 days before the party. Their buttons arrive the morning of the event. Amazing. tldr great service, quick turnaround, crisp printing, fair price, already referring others

The awesome buttons Kevin made for my Kentucky Derby party! I love them!

An absolutely well deserved 5 star review. I was just blown away at Kevin's phenomenal customer service. I sent him a crappy design I made in Microsoft word and he professionally laid it out to spec with bleeds etc, emailed me a proof the next morning, and finished pressing the buttons that afternoon. It literally took less than 24 hours from the time I called to the time I had them in hand. He is gregarious, helpful, and so fast! Prices are extremely reasonable (maybe too reasonable). I would highly recommend Broken Seal Buttons to anyone. I uploaded a photo of my Kentucky Derby party button ("Talk #derby to me") so you can see for yourself how awesome it turned out!

When I tried to use it, I realized the tip has an unpolished, sharp metal burr from manufacturing that literally catches, tears hair, and scratches the scalp. It is completely unusable and hazardous (see photos). On August 29, 2026, I returned to the store politely asking for an exchange for an undamaged one or a refund under California's Implied Warranty of Merchantability. Instead of helping, the employees outright refused, laughed directly in my face, and refused to provide any manager or owner contact information. Selling sharp, defective accessories and openly mocking young customers is absolutely shameful. Avoid this place at all costs -- a complete tourist trap with zero accountability.

I've been here plenty of times before and have spent my hard-earned money supporting this business. When I came in today, I placed my drink on the small stand outside since drinks aren't allowed inside, and started looking for the same style of earrings I had lost. I had only been in the store for less than two minutes when an employee approached me and said something along the lines of, "Excuse me, can you finish your call outside or put headphones on?" I was simply on the phone with my mother catching up, and I was not being loud or disruptive. What bothered me most was that the employee never greeted me or acknowledged me when I walked in, yet was quick to approach me and address my phone call almost immediately. There were also no signs indicating that customers aren't allowed to be on the phone inside the store. I understand wanting to maintain a certain atmosphere, but I don't feel the way this was handled was particularly welcoming or necessary. Unfortunately, after this experience, I no longer feel comfortable supporting this business. It's disappointing, especially as someone who has been a returning customer and has supported this store multiple times.
