Everything here is SO GOOOD. I mean from the avocado toast to the tater tots this place is exceptional. Prices are super reasonable and the ambience is just super chill. From the huge disco ball to the real candles lit around the restaurant it is nothing short of a unique gem. The old pay phones and cigarette machine takes you back to a different decade. I love envy thing about this place and the service is nothing short of perfection. After a long day at work I called five minutes before closing and they stayed open to make me a meal and a drink. The CHAI IS sooo good. They make it from scratch and it's nothing short of amazing. I definitely recommend stopping in.

Love Broadway Mary's! Brew N Strew down the street combined with this and it's now a bar/coffee shop! They make great breakfast burritos as well as other pastries!

I want to love Broadway Mary's so much. It's an adorable space with lots of retro flair. Love the cigarette machine in the entry way and the beautiful wooden bar. The Lorain sign and old albums are also a nice touch. There's just so much to look at. The ceiling is falling apart a little bit and could use some rehab. The food is pretty good. We especially loved the chocolate chip pancakes. They were very flavorful and with a good amount of chips. The omelettes were a mixed bag. Mine had crispy bacon (strips) inside it and my husband's had floppy bacon. The coffee was good but not stand out. I can tell the owners and staff care a lot about this place and they seemed to be understaffed like a lot of places are these days. I would love to come back again for dinner or drinks. From what I understand they host some unique events.

Take a step back in time with this retro cafe that serves excellent coffee and espresso! As you walk in you are immediately greeted by vintage memorabilia and old school decor adorning the interior. You can dine-in or order takeout, but I chose to have a seat at the counter. Want breakfast? They have it along with sandwiches, soups, salads, and panninis. If coffee is what you desire than rest assured, you will not be disappointed. With an espresso machine sittinf right behind the counter, they offer a variety of specialty drinks to include macchiato, cappucino, lattes, hot chocolate, tea, and seasonal creations to suit many tastes. Since I wasn't quite hungry I only got a latte with almond milk, and boy was it good! The next time I'm out in Lorain I will definitely stop by this neighborhood lamdmark and eat well.

Broadway Mary's came highly recommended by my tattoo artist down the street, so our next chance we stopped in for lunch. Breakfast is served all day, which is a plus for us! We ended up getting burgers and boy oh boy, am i glad I did!! They are fresh and delicious and so not taste frozen!!! I tried the tator tots and my friend tried them loaded, huge portions we couldn't eat them all and could of split an order!! They were yummy! We loved the decor it's cute, different and very eclectic. We decided we'll definitely come back and try a breakfast selection. The menu is limited but i think you could find something for anyone.

When my husband and I headed out to breakfast this morning, we had no idea where we were headed and simply by chance we ended up at this fantastic little gem! What a cool vibe place! It's only been open for about 18 months and it is still a secret hidden gem in Lorain County. I hope once the word gets out, the community embraces this groovy little pad, shows them some love and supports them on a regular basis so they can stay with us for a long time! I know that we will definitely be regulars - there are many more menu items we can't wait to try! From the outside, it didn't look like anything great, even though they had a small outdoor seating area set up out front, but that fooled us for sure! Once we walked in the door, the "first look state of mind" was immediately replaced with a groovy vibe and an instant smile on our faces! It feels like you've just walked into a 70's museum - your head is twisting and turning on your neck in order to take in all of the coolness. There are so many awesome things to look at that it takes a bit of time to get yourself to the counter for ordering. You will find yourself pausing to look left, pausing to look right, pausing to look up, pausing to look down, over and across!!! So much "wow"! When you finally get to the counter to place your order, you'll be pleasantly surprised to see the entire menu is posted on the wall next to the register - in large font - so you can actually see it! The menu is tight - just enough choices to give you options, but not enough to make you feel like you'll need to stand there for an hour deciding. One of the really cool thing about placing your order is that you order and pay all at the same time, you will then be given a number card to place on your table once you sit down and they will bring your food out to you when it's ready. Since you've already paid when you ordered, you are free to walk out as soon as you're done eating instead of feeling like you're being held hostage waiting for your check. (Don't forget to leave a healthy tip - they deserve it!!) And after all of that truly groovy coolness that I just described - you are then presented with the most delicious food you've ever tasted! It's ridiculously delicious!! And the portions are very very generous! You could easily take home left overs, but we were so mesmerized that we cleaned our plates! I ordered Steelcut Oatmeal and it came out loaded with tons of fresh fruit - bananas, strawberries, blueberries and a bit of granola on top. I added a side of bacon - which were large strips of deliciousness, cooked to perfection (definitely not those skinny dried up strips of bacon that you're used to getting at other restaurants!). My hubby ordered the Broadway Omelet - it came out fat full of ingredients - so tasty!! It came with toast and he added a side of Tater Tots - which were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside. Absolutely delicious!! The only negative thing I can say about this place is that it appears a little bit dirty and in need of a bit of structural maintenance - the floors and ceilings and such, but not in a creepy kind of way at all. More like, in a hippy kind of way - so it's perfectly ok! So perfectly ok that I cannot wait to go again! Maybe I'll see YOU there! :)

Broadway Mary's is a literal blast from the past in Lorain. As Sarah H. said, it's groovy. Stepping in here is a literal time capsule back to the 1970s. They may have actually gone to a vintage shop and swiped the 70s items from wall-to-wall. You can expect comfort diner food that's served up quickly. I just had a cup of coffee and the breakfast toast with sausage and gravy. The mismatched, vintage themed plates and cups are a cute touch. This seems like the type of spot that has regulars and they know their orders. It just has that type of hometown vibe! The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because the seating is uncomfortable. The chairs are low, small and uncomfortable. I would also love to see the restaurant invest a bit of money into the structural aspects of the interior. With some cosmetic updates on the walls/ceiling to fix things literally falling apart, it would make a huge difference in transforming the atmosphere. Otherwise, a solid diner spot for a quick breakfast.

Groovy hidden gem in Lorain, Ohio! I came here one day to get some studying in and was super impressed with the London Fog latte I ordered- probably one of the better ones I have had recently. The mug was also super cute! See my photos below. The decor is also very unique. Its like stepping back in time- my photos will probably do a better job than my words! The records, plants and layout is wild. Another nice thing is the versatility of Broadway Mary's. For example, I enjoyed a few hours of studying, but I could also see it as a fun place to meet with someone for lunch, or even grab a few drinks at the bar (not sure if there is alcohol, but definitely other drinks!)

I love Broadway Mary's and met my cousin here for breakfast since it is her favorite spot. The atmosphere was very cool and I loved the disco ball. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito and a cinnamon latte. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced! It is very spacious inside and good for social distancing. Lots of parking in the area available as well. I can't wait to return and try something else. The staff was very friendly and I had such a wonderful vibe there. My cousin and I sat and chat for awhile and had a great time! Broadway Mary's is bringing downtown Lorain back to life! :)

Broadway Mary's is the sister restaurant of Brew & Stew. Both are located on Broadway Ave in Lorain, but in separate buildings and they have separate websites. From what I could gather, Broadway Mary's opened up February/March of 2020, but then the pandemic hit and in April Brew & Stew temporarily moved into the Broadway Mary's location. BM was intended to be burgers and cocktails while BS offered coffees, soups, and baked goods. Since Covid hit 2020 has been a hot mess so while the above might be a little confusing, it makes sense to merge businesses temporarily to save on expenses and stay afloat. Hopefully everything will be alright and it won't be too much longer till this ends. BM was barely open before things changed up, and it looks like they weren't able to put a whole lot into their website, like explaining who Broadway Mary is. Also not sure if they were able to get their liquor license yet. Now about my visit. I stopped in after kayaking on the Black River. Easy street parking. Things are decorated 1970s style. Orders are taken at the bar where you pay upfront and then someone will bring you your drink/food. Plenty of seating inside or there are spots in the front and the back of the building (used to be their parking lot). You can pick items off of the BM menu or the BS menu. We tried an iced latte $4, iced chai tea $4 (was supposed to be hot), breakfast burrito $6, and the hotel California panini $9.We both enjoyed the food with positive remarks about the panini bread and the crispy fries inside the burrito. Per the BM Facebook page, it looks like they serve up specials like BBQ or old school TV dinners. They also mention how they partner with local businesses like Rising Star for coffee and Blackbird Baking Company for bread. I'd swing by here again and I'm interested in patronizing both businesses once they are able to be on their own again. (Currently things are a bit muddled and I'm curious to see their differences shine).
