We originally went out looking for a coffee shop, then saw the Bay Diner. We had never been so decided to stop in. It was busy the entire time we were there. The wait was about 20, exactly what staff told us. We were seated in a comfortable booth and service was quick. I appreciate coffee in a diner mug. The coffee was good. It was served with dried coffee dripped down the side. My husband and oldest enjoyed their meals. The sausage omelette was made well and the pancakes were fluffy. My oldest liked the squeeze bottle of syrup. There were no true vegan options. I did end up with tater tots and fruit for my meal. Overall it was a cute diner and seemed to be very popular on a Sunday morning. There was plenty of parking. The Bay Diner is located in a strip mall.

Very fun Midwest small town vibes! Decore of Bay through the years and fun vintage license plates! Their service is always excellent! Very attentive throughout the day! The food is actually really good (the tots are crispy and golden brown) I got the Club sandwich! Very good! Lots of meat! My cousin got the Cobb salad and she really enjoyed it and was impressed by the chicken in it! they close at 2:30 but it's definitely worth it, run by good people, and the clientele is kind as well!

Came on a Friday at 11 and it was busy, but staff was all very nice and we were quickly sat in 20 minutes. Classic diner food that tasted great!

Great traditional breakfast food with a variety of omelets. It's smaller so expect a wait but it's worth it.

A few things to note if you decide to try it out: there are no reservations. Seating is first come, first served, and a line forms outside in the benches. Hop in line and expect to wait about 15 minutes. Very casual and smooth! Also, they take card but would appreciate if you paid cash to cut down on credit card expenses. You get a fun treat if you do! I started my breakfast with some freshly brewed coffee that they kept topping off throughout the morning. I also get some fresh fruit and the strawberries were sooo sweet! Get the fruit, because it's a nice snack while you wait for your meal to come out. For my entrée, I ordered two buttermilk pancakes and a side of eggs scrambled with cheese and the home fries. The pancakes were fluffy and the syrup was nice and thick. I loved how the eggs came out. They were cooked perfectly with cheddar cheese. And the home fries stole my heart. How a restaurant prepares their home fries sets the tone for me anywhere. They were seasoned very well and I could tell that they are a great foundation to the entrees on the house specialties menu. I will be returning to try some of the savory dishes very soon!

We arrived around noon, and the restaurant was busy, with an estimated 20-minute wait. We were actually seated before the full 20 minutes, and our server, Missy, was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. My husband ordered the Reuben, I got the large fatoosh salad with grilled chicken in the side, and my son ordered the corned beef sandwich with Swiss cheese. The portions were HUGE! My husband and son couldn't believe how big their sandwiches were. My son had really been craving a good corned beef sandwich, and this one definitely hit the spot! He ate half and took the rest home for lunch the next day because it was so big. My salad was also very generous in size. The side of chicken came in a separate plate, which I thought was odd, but I cut it up and added it to my salad. The menu is so extensive that we had a hard time deciding what to order. There were so many things we wanted to try! That just gives us another reason to come back. I had brought a friend here on a previous visit, and she enjoyed it just as much. Great food, generous portions, and friendly service make this place a winner. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I wasn't even planning on coming here, but I was genuinely blown away by how good the food was. Everything was delicious, and now I'm slightly annoyed that I didn't discover this place sooner. This is definitely a place I'll be coming back to because I need to try more of the menu. The service was also great! friendly, prompt, and impressive considering how busy this place was. There was basically a constant stream of people walking in and out, which is always a pretty good sign that the food is good and they are doing something right! I did notice the desserts, but unfortunately, I was calorie-shy today. Next time I come dessert will be happening.

It should be named "Jakes near the Lake" but we could not of had a better experience. We sat at the bar and our bartender, Sarah, was awesome. She was attentive and extremely pleasant. Wasn't a fan of the fries, but that's on me because I don't like fresh cut fries. The drinks were great. My wife got a pear martini and it was delicious. I would def recommend this place for anyone in the area wanting some great food.

If you're going for a lake view restaurant, this wasn't it. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady. Seated by the window, we were pleased by the menu and the daily specials. Our server was very prompt and courteous. We ordered the walleye sandwich and the perch sandwich. Both sandwiches came with hand cut french fries and coleslaw. Our son ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup. Our food arrived very promptly. My wife and I both loved the fish and felt that it was one of the best fish sandwiches we've had in a long time. The fries were rather limp and could use some more attention by the kitchen to make them stand out more. I like a mayo based coleslaw, so I didn't really love the slaw, although it was fresh and tart. The soup was very tasty and the grilled cheese was done just right! Overall, we would recommend this restaurant and we can tell that the local crowd likes this place and has kept it in business for a long time. Now if they only had that lake view restaurant!

I ordered the early bird prime rib, a good deal at $19.99. However the rather thin slice of meat was lackluster. It tasted like it was baked without any spices, lacked any flavor. I ordered a loaded baked potato. A plain potato was served. That was not a problem. Butter and sour cream came with it. I put them on the potato and took a bite. A waitress came and said "you ordered a loaded baked potato, right?" I was about to say, "yes, but it's fine." All of a sudden she reached in front of me and grabbed the potato off my plate with her bare hands and put it on the lady's plate across from me! I had already taken a bite of it! Luckily, she did not want sour cream so the waitress took it back. Then I was given a loaded baked potato that was hard with melted hardened cheese and a sprinkle of bacon. The casing was so hard I couldn't eat it. A $2.00 charge was on my bill for a sprinkling of hard cheese and bacon. The side salad was fine and Italian dressing was tasty. Other issues were: ladies ordered wine. The waitress was very confused. Pinot Grigio was served for Pinot noir. We had to explain what was a white or red wine. A white wine was served as a Cabernet Sauvignon. We are not a fussy bunch but some basic serving protocols were ignored. Reaching in front of a patron, yelling across the table getting drink orders, grabbing food off a plate with bare hands (you can't make this stuff up) . The entire meal felt chaotic and frantic. Unfortunately, it was not an enjoyable dining experience. It may be because we had a large group, but we had a reservation, we didn't just walk in. I know many people said the food is good, but many in our group were disappointed in their meal. However, the ones that had pasta with scallops liked their meal. The steak sandwich was also a good choice. I had so looked forward to going to Mahle's.
