Enjoyed hot dogs, fries, and onion rings. The onion rings are particularly good. Loved that they served Pepsi products as well. Real home town crowd and plenty of help. We're planning to return when next we're in town. Thank you!

Great atmosphere-very much a small town diner(not in a bad way!) Even though the name is Broadway Lunch, they have a great breakfast selection too! The service was excellent, fast and friendly, it seems to be a very popular local hangout spot. We got the stuffed French toast with the award winning blue ribbon cheesecake filling and strawberries and whipped cream on top, and a western omelette. Because Broadway Lunch was rated top 3 hot dog spots in the capital district, we had to try it! Everything was delicious!

Oh my gosh. All I can say is I SCORED big time finding this diner!!! From the outside I wasn't expecting much from this place.. The parking lot is tiny and the sign for the diner looks 2,000 years old... They can brighten up the outside a little bit. First impressions when I walked in: 1. HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL THIS PLACE IS SO NICE! 2. Everything is so modern in here. From the booths, to the light fixtures. I absolutely love how they designed it. 3. Who is the cute old bald guy in the back? Possibly the owner??.... 4. OOooOo so many white board lunch specials! You basically just seat yourself. It was pretty PACKED when we arrived (it was around 12:30 in the afternoon). But thankfully there was one more booth open. An older woman came over to get our drink orders, she had an English accent. What a doll she was. Literally all of the waitresses here are SO FRIENDLY, talkative, polite. I just love it. One of the waitresses mentioned that they have ALL been waitressing there for years. So, they're good at what they do!! The best thing about this place is they literally make everything homemade... They are *KNOWN* for their hotdogs. So many toppings including: baked beans, sauerkraut, coleslaw, etc. etc. too many to even remember. It took everything in me not to get one. I decided on the fish and chips (which was on the special) for $8.95 give or take a few bucks (Don't quote me on the price). My cousin got the same, and her kids got chicken tenders a BLT & pea soup. Let me just start off with the soup. UM WOWWWW. I'm not even a soup eater but this pea soup is literally to DIE FOR. if you ever eat here, GET THE SOUP YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. The chicken tenders are homemade!!! No frozen crap. You can't really mess up a BLT... The fish & chips are literally NO DOUBT the best I've ever had. Literally 5 star quality on all of the food here. They have a decent sized menu & very very fair prices. Some lunch specials even come with soup! I was dying for some diner style dessert, and LOOK AT THAT THEY HAVE MY FAVORITE! CARROT CAKE. It did not disappoint. Moist cake, delicious frosting. Mmmhmmmm I just needed some milk to wash it down with but I was SO STUFFED I couldn't eat one more bite. Coffee, 2 cups of soup, chicken tenders & FF, a BLT with FF, 2 fish & chip meals & 1 slice of carrot cake= $42. You CANT beat it! :) They're doin' everything right here. 5 star quality diner across the board. Food, service, atmosphere. I'll be back to try some of their other menu options. Enjoy fellow Yelpers!

As always, the ambiance is warm and welcoming. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I have some unique food allergies and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. I got the Chefs Macaroni and Cheese. It was as good a my mother's homemade macaroni and cheese. For dessert I had the tapioca pudding. The presentation in the sundae dish with the whipped cream made it more appealing. It was delicious! If you are in the area, I highly recommend you check them out.

You go to plan "B." The Blue Ribbon Restaurant and Bakery is a "sister" to the bakery next door and is open on Sunday for five hours after the bakery shop closes. We might as well have dinner too while we are at the restaurant. Starting with cups of better than average diner coffee ($2.99/bottomless cup) my wife chose a Reuben with coleslaw and pickle wedge ($14.99) and added fries ($3) while I decided to have the Shredded Short Rib Sandwich ($14.49) which included fries, coleslaw, and a pickle wedge. We both agreed the fries were best while they were nice and hot but otherwise typically average once they cooled. Our respective sandwiches, however, were outstanding. The Reuben was the traditional corned beef on grilled rye with sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese. It was large enough that half came home for the next meal. My Short Rib sandwich was too full of meat in a fresh and soft bun for me to chance picking it up to eat by hand, so I resorted to using a fork and knife. Regardless, it was really tasty. Now we were ready for the main event. My wife got her slice of Carrot Cake ($7.49) while I selected the Italian Rum Cake ($7.25). We both left totally satisfied and smiling, but on overload. This diner is very clean and staff are efficient.

I have been to Redwood Diner numerous times and I always enjoy it. The service is consistently fantastic, and that really stands out. The owners (Pete and Gloria) are very friendly, as are the waitresses, and you can tell they truly care about the people who come in. On several occasions, both owners and waitresses have stopped by the table to make sure everything was good and to chat for a bit. The conversations are always enjoyable and never feel forced. The waitresses know my order by heart which is impressive. You can tell the waitresses really care. They stop by numerous times to make sure you're all set and always offer to warm up and top off your coffee. The food is always good and the portions are generous, so you definitely leave satisfied. There is a really nice ambiance here. It feels comfortable and welcoming, not rushed or impersonal. They also decorate the windows for holidays, and there is a Christmas tree in the front breezeway that they decorate for different holidays throughout the year, which adds a fun and festive touch. Many times I have ended up chatting with other patrons seated near my table, which says a lot about the atmosphere. There are clearly several regulars, and when a place has a loyal customer base like that, they are doing something right. One of the things I appreciate most is that you can go with others, enjoy your food, and have a nice conversation without feeling pressure to leave quickly. That is getting harder to find these days. This place easily earns 5 stars from me.

As far as diners are concerned, Redwood Diner totally fits the mold. There's a nostalgic vibe to these places that is almost comforting in itself. The food, yup, got you covered there, too. There's the "meat and three" combo, if you count the salad as one of the vegetables. This comes with bread and soup, veg & starch as well as the previously mentioned salad. There's even a liver and onions option on the menu. I've never been a fan so I passed on that one. One of the other staples offered here that I can recommend are the hot dogs. Get them loaded with meat sauce, onions, and mustard. Although the prices have changed, the charm remains.
