I've been ordering mulch and buying river stones from Broadway for many years. The man in the office (I assume he's the owner) has always been polite and helpful. He's a bit formal. I have no idea if that's the problem for others who give bad reviews. I hope they are not reacting to his being from India or Pakistan. Broadway charges reasonable prices and delivers what I order on time. Today the truck was five minutes early! The shredded bark mulch is good looking and doesn't contain any junk. I hope folks will use this company. Adding. My gardener's came to spread mulch after it was delivered. Turned out I didn't order enough. I called Broadway Landscaping and explained and asked it it were possible to order more right away while the men were here working. And it happened! In 40 minutes here came the truck with more mulch. That's great service! read more

There was a large amount of unusable material in our load of rock. It was difficult to off-load due to the excess sand and dirt included. We had to make a dump run with several hundred pounds of debris after we got the rocks out. read more

Another great purchase and delivery from Broadway:) Excellent product- playground grade cedar chip mulch. Got 5 CY to put in planters. Its light weight and colour, big deterring characteristics, pleasant fragrance, and small size make a great nutritional mulch for potted plants. read more

I should have known based on how rude and unprofessional their staff was at the time of purchase and delivery. This business created an absolute nightmare for me! I bought thousands of dollars' worth of raised garden bed soil from them for a massive raised bed project. After an absurd amount of trial and error and dead plants, I had the soil tested, and it is CONTAMINATED WITH HERBICIDE and excessive un-aged wood, causing nutrient deficiencies and poor drainage. Now I have mountains of useless dirt, and I'm out so much money, time, plants, and hard work. Not to mention, I need to pay people to remove all of this dirt and replace it with new. NEVER AGAIN. Learn from my mistake. DON'T BUY FROM THEM! read more

Horrible experience. I was quoted $300/yard took photo of the rock and texted.photo & price. It was significantly more expensive than Crown, but rocks were smaller & easier to handle. Came back with truck to pick up load & they wouldn't honor $300 price. Asked to speak with manager/owner & was denied. Said they were in LA. DO NOT BUY from this company! read more

If I could do 0 stars I would. Don't recommend at all I called in to ask for some prices, the phone just range I had to call 5 times for them to pick up, then for them to end up hanging up on me when I asked what the price was for some decoration rocks, all I ask was can I get the price for the salt and pepper and when they ask what size I said price for all sizes you have available and they had attitude, rude and no patience with customers even after I was very nice and had tried to be calm even when they weren't. Don't go here I will definitely be going to crown hills landscaping from now on.They don't care if your done talking they will hang up on you. read more

Broadway Landscape Materials - All the calls I had to make for them to end up hanging up on me after being rude and having attitude - Landscaping Near Me - American Canyon, California

I probably should have read the reviews here first but because I wanted to give the business benefit of the doubt, I went here to see if I could find some river rock. The first employee I saw, I approached about getting river rock and he told me to ask the main guy in the office. While I waited for their boss to finish up on the phone a second employee asked me what I needed. I told him I needed about 1.5 cubic yard of river rock to which he quoted me at a pretty good price. Definitely cheaper than Lowe's. When I asked about delivery to Fairfield they decided to talk amongst themselves in their language, which I couldn't understand but from my perspective they seemed less than thrilled. The employee who asked me what I needed just walked off. I asked their boss how much delivery was and he said it was $150 otherwise if I hauled it myself it was free. I asked if they're charging by distance or weight to which he said bucket. Now I'm not in the landscaping business, I'm not sure how big that bucket is, but my gut told me to find a business that was worth my time. So I found another place to get 3 cubic yards of the rock I needed instead with better customer service that delivered free. Regarding this place, Points off for customer interaction, lack of communication, my money is better invested elsewhere. 1 star because they are cheaper than Lowe's. Perhaps their only redeeming quality. read more

They aren't the most personable bunch but they did have the rocks I was looking for for a small pond project. Also their prices have fluctuated from 12 cents a pound to 16 cents a pound on our 3 trips for the same rocks. Once we have enough rocks for this project we won't be going back. read more

As others have stated the people here are just plain rude. I pulled in here on a whim one day to check out their product and consider them as a potential supplier my company could use for small landscape jobs in and around American Canyon. After slowly making a loop through the yard a man was waiting outside the office and I pulled up to talk with him. He immediately and rudely chewed me out for driving on their gravel lot. There are no gates or signs to indicate they don't want you to drive past a certain point and no designated parking spaces. Plus what kind of landscaping materials yard doesn't let contractors drive on the lot? I'm amazed a company so notorious for rudeness towards potential customers can stay in business. read more

The guy on the phone is rude. Yells at you? Not sure if it's a culture thing? Hours on Google said 6pm. Drove down from Fairfield to a locked gate. Won't be back. read more

I ordered a large amount of Versa Lok retaining wall blocks and these guys had the best service and price around. Delivery was fast and very professional. I'll update review with a picture when our wall is finished. Can't express my gratitude enough. Thank you so much and will be back to order rock. read more

Beautiful rocks and generous people! My dad and I have been working on his front yard to conserve water and to make the house look brand-spanking new and these guys have helped us every step of the way. When you first enter, you might get intimidated by that oddly used dragon statue, but worry not--rocks galore inside! A huge array of beautiful stones and rocks that they will always give you your money's worth for and a little extra. Definitely going to trust them when I want to remodel my lawn! read more

Is there a zero rating? Whoever is the person assisting their customers is very very rude or a sexist and hates women. I've come here 2X within a week and I've been treated like i should not be attended to as I will waste their time. I am trying to buy 200 pavers and 2000 lbs of pebbles and I left that place feeling like my business wasn't needed. The guy kept walking away, even went to his car to eat(which is fine, but at least tell me so I can go in my car to wait.) Go to Crown Hills!!!! They are very customer oriented!!! read more

After reading reviews I too agree. Man on the phone was very rude. I told him I was looking for grave to use with my flagstone to create a "Arizona landscape look" and he said "yeah we have flagstone come look". I told him I have my own flagstone already but wanted the gravel for the "Arizona" look. He started quickly naming types of gravel. I asked for price and if he had a minimum order for delivery. He said "we deliver depending on your order." I asked again. "what is minimum" He yelled and said "no minimum. just come look I am busy on the other line". I asked what time they close, but then realized he HUNG UP ON ME!! Not going there. Will go to Crown instead. read more

I can't make a decision on what kind of landscaping rock I was going to get, Paul was there to help me decide based on pricing and quality.

Do not go here! The guy is SO rude. His name is Paul. The first time I met him (in-person), he was okay. He told me the prices of what we were looking for, etc. Then, when my husband called to follow-up and ask a question, he YELLED AT MY HUSBAND. FOR ASKING A SIMPLE QUESTION. So today we went to Crown Hill Materials in Vallejo and got great customer service. Go there instead! read more

If you want to buy some materials, they have them. If you want to be talked to rudely, they accomplish that very well. Was it because I'm a women and walk with a cane--I don't know, but that's what I felt. The man after me was treated better. I won't be going back to them ever but will wait until Crown has replenshes their stock. read more

This guy just yells and laughs at your questions. He inflates prices.

I work next door to this place and I wanted to mention how generous they have been to schools. They donated a lot of materials to my childrens school a few years ago and a customer told me they recently donated materials to her childrens school for their school garden. I think that is great! I understand times are rough but anywhere else I called they would not even give the school a discount. The guys here were just like: sure, what do you need? Very generous of them! read more

Went to Midcity Nursery next door and thought I'd give Broadway Landscape Materials a try as well. Great service and selection with reasonable prices, will definitely be back read more

I needed a few pieces of flagstone to fill in spots in our lawn that we've worn down from walking. The owner got out some tools and broke a couple 2'x2' pieces off for me, even though they prefer to sell flagstone by the full pallet. They weighed it and then loaded into my trunk. I appreciate the extra effort they made to help me out. read more

We ordered dirt to be delivered on a Friday midday, and specifically requested it be dropped to the side of our driveway in a dirt patch (where this company has delivered dirt to us before!); the delivery guy never rang the doorbell or phoned us, so I never knew he was here, and he dropped the load in the middle of our drive so I can't get my car out. When I called Broadway's office, the proprietor said the delivery guy couldn't come back and help fix this "because he's in Santa Rosa" and there wasn't anyone else working in AmCyn today. I asked that the proprietor call this guy and ask him to come back to help us, then call us to let us know if he can - no phone call so far, so it looks like I'm going to have to excavate to get my car out. Not what I'd planned for today. read more

Ive used their materials before without incident, but the last purchase of soil mix was awful. When I was filling my planter boxes, I can't tell you how many times I had to stop just to remove glass, concrete, plastic (too much plastic), and duct tape. VERY POOR QUALIT!!!!!!!! read more

Just bought topsoil here yesterday. Polite owner and great price. Wish I would have bought here before buying at Lowes.

These guys are great. I have been here several times to grab materials for my yard. The prices are fair, and delivery is fast. Over 3 cubic yards and delivery is free- which is nice. Material quality (I got both large & small river rocks and pea gravel) is top rate. Making another trip over there this week! read more

These guys are wonderful. I ordered rock on a Friday and they delivered promptly on Saturday morning. When I called almost at closing time because I needed more, they went out of their way to deliver more that same day (from Am Can all the way to Napa). Great quality, great price, and professional and friendly attention. I will absolutely recommend this family business to all my friends and neighbors. read more

LOTS of headaches with this company. Drove over on a Tuesday to try to purchase various materials for my front yard. I had been there the previous week to check things out, but when I got there on Tuesday they claimed they were sold out of the stepping stones I needed (and had seen a full pallet of the previous week). My mom went back for me on Thursday (I live over an hour away) and low and behold they DID have the stepping stones and were never sold out. My mom made the purchase of stepping stones, gravel and over 20 boulders for me and tried to get the delivery scheduled. In the next two days there were only 2 times we wouldn't be home to accept the delivery and they kept suggesting those two times. Finally after over 2 hours we got the delivery scheduled for the next day between 1-2:30. 2:30 rolls around with no delivery so I call them, oh yeah, their truck broke so they'll have to do it tomorrow (thanks for the phone call). I called early Saturday morning (when they were supposed to make the new delivery) and was very polite on the phone and asked if it might be possible to receive a refund or credit for the cost of delivery because of the difficulties we'd been having. What followed was 5 minutes of screaming from the owner who claimed he called me (he did not), that I was being difficult and other inaudible rudeness I couldn't understand. I ended the phone call asking if they could just deliver my order (he had previously threatened not to) and I would never shop there again and hung up the phone. DON'T go there. read more

I went there looking for "gorilla hair" for our flower boxes. The man outside told me they didn't sell it any longer. When I noticed there was at least a truck load in the bin, he said, "take all you want. you can have it. just load it yourself". I didn't expect them to help, but someone else loaned me a shovel because there wasn't one. So in the heat...I spent 45 minutes shoveling this product (and I am 65 years old). I filled about half of my small pickup and was done. I went to tell the "yard guy" and he directed me to go into the office and tell the owner thank you. So I went in. The man at the counter totally ignored me for maybe 3 minutes. When he finally decided to talk to me, I told him I really appreciated the "gorilla hair". he said "we don't sell it." I explained to him that I knew that...but the guy outside told me I could have whatever I loaded for free...so I was done and wanted to say "thank you". He then (very rudely) told me that they "don't give anything away for free and how much was I going to pay for it". I told him again the story and said that I had just spent 45 minutes shoveling it. He then told me to leave and don't come back. GLADLY!! RUDEST COMPANY EVERY. WILL NEVER GO BACK! (women...be very aware. they don't like us! been rude before, but this time I am done!) Terrible awful place! I will never buy anything from them...not even for free! read more
