Ongo Burger... comes with waffle fries!
Jeannette L.

My husband treated me to lunch at Broadway Diner over the weekend. He'd been here a few months ago with friends, and wanted us to check it out together. We were seated at one of the booths inside. I ordered the ongo burger and he got the veggie panini. The knife was sticking out of my burger when it came to the table. I used it to cut the burger in half and then smaller pieces after realizing it'd be too messy to hold barehanded. I'm pretty sure it was a steamed cheeseburger; tasted good. My waffle fries were on point. My partner said he liked his veggie panini with regular fries, coleslaw, and pickle. He also ordered a coffee with his meal. When you order coffee, it comes out to the table in a metal carafe so you can refill on your own as needed. I thought that was cool. Two thumbs up for Broadway Diner :)

Please support this amazing local business! Finally things are back to normal and time to feel like the good old days. Finally met up with a friend who was on a quest for a gem among all the many diners in New Jersey. Each time I come to this establishment, I leave with an interesting story or concept, or just a overall feeling of enjoyment-

Does anybody take better food pics than me - the Rebel Chef? Not a chance. Not here. Not at Broadway. Broadway Diner has excellent breakfast and luncheon snack food. A friendly, airy atmosphere complements a nice drive-up and a tight parking area. Walking up you are welcomed by a gigantic awning and plenty of space inside to get any large-size eater-group settled down and situated. Broadway has infinitely better ambience and the lighting on the tables is pitch-perfect. At other places around the country you eat in the dark! My simple BLT and fantastic fries were insanely good: the bread was warm and charred, mayo of a higher quality, thick bacon and CRISP lettuce. For dessert somewhere in the middle I enjoyed an entire STACK of fluffy (and generous) pancakes. It was a VERY memorable pancake pile that I do not regret recommending for an instant. I would get them tomorrow morning! The food is solid. There are neat old time photos on the walls and out the back windows are views of intersections. In the end my waiter Christian, just up and totally disappeared! Guess he did not want a sky-high tip either... Review: A+ Broadway diner food Waiter just up and left..

Ive seen a lot of bad reviews on this place, but honestly, me and my friends went here to eat and it's actually quite good, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger wrap and it was great, my family ordered other things like chocolate chip pancakes, burgers, avocado toast, etc. So if anyone gets a chance to eat here, do it, it's worth it! And if the owner of this fine establishment sees this, just know that I've done many reviews on places like this before on google and I'm always interested in trying new food items and writing reviews about them! so please hit me up on anything new you have! have a good day!

Very cozy and clean. The atmosphere at this diner is chill and the staff is also really friendly. Food is very good... definitely the best pancakes I've had. it's 100% worth it and I have a feeling we may return the next time we are in Summit, NJ.

Many yummy options, really enjoyed their ribs and gyro. Friendly staff and very patient with kids. Prices are on the expensive side...

Atmosphere: The Broadway Diner looks like a typical diner. The outside has a large parking lot and sign that says: "world's best pancakes." I've found many diners have a sign that says: "world's best something" or the best diner in X country or even the best diner in the state.  I actually didn't see the sign outside until I took a photo afterward. Otherwise I would have gotten pancakes. The inside of the Broadway Diner has plenty of booths, tables, and a bar. When you arrive at the Broadway Diner, there are two different rooms, one with a seating area and one without. Coffee: The coffee at Broadway Diner was okay but not the best. Food: The Broadway Diner menu has everything you could imagine and more. There are plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.  The outside said "world's best pancakes," but I didn't see it until later. Since it was a Saturday, I decided to order the "Saturday Salad." The Saturday salad came with spinach leaves, pears, feta cheese, cranberries, and walnuts. I decided to order sliced steak.  I thought the salad itself was delicious, but the steak was rubbery and tough to eat. I was disappointed with the steak, but the salad itself was good. I would order it again but with a different meat topping. Service: The Broadway Diner was quiet when we went. There were only a few parties at the diner. Our food came out fast as well. Our waiter, himself, was very friendly.  In all, it was a great experience. Would I Come Back? I liked the Summit Diner and I would go one of their locations to try the "World's Best Pancakes." It was a good stop and low key.  Since it was my last diner for a while, I'm sad I didn't go all out.

be warned they charge about $5 for each kid's orange juice (small cup). Do not recommend unless you want to feel taken advantage of.

I feel like I am generally a little snarky but I was really blown away by this all you can eat gem…read more I think I was in Summit for almost 6 months before I realized Sushi Palace existed and wasn't just an old sign. Seriously. You cannot see any sign of other than the sign. You go into a glass vestibule and down into the basement. Basement? Yes. It's a basement. Is it dark? Not really. Is the ceiling low? A little. But it's a big open space. You don't feel crowded. It's all you can eat and it's a big menu. A lot of choices. I was trying to be judicious. I came by myself so I didn't want to order anything that came with 6 pieces of the same thing. I ordered everything at once which is unnecessary. They bring you another round of blank ordering pages. I had the miso soup which was spectacular. I had the seaweed salad which was very good. And a good portion. The sashimi was a thick piece which was a little weird at first but excellent quality. I had one piece of sushi. You know to be honest I'm not sure that the piece I ate was one that I ordered. And I think one of the pieces I ordered I never received. But I'm not going to complain. I had every opportunity to order as much as I wanted. I had a Peking duck appetiser I really enjoyed in a little pancake. I could have happily eaten 10 of them. Barbecued octopus which was a little chewy. Probably my least favorite but still very good. I think coming with a group would be ideal so you could try more things. I didn't even break into the rolls or hand rolls. And I didn't try the chicken wings which is something I love. I didn't get dessert which consisted of several flavors of icecream or fresh fruit. When I go next time I will not order everything at once because it comes out as they finish it so I think this added to my confusion over what I had ordered and if I had received everything. Next time I will order it coursed out how I want it. And there will certainly be a next time. Really, really enjoyed it.

I absolutely loved the sauce bar and thought it was such a fun way to customize your flavor profile. There were so many options for seasonings and pretty much any combination tastes good. When we arrived it was pretty crowded and we didn't have a reservation but after 15 minutes at the bar we were able to sit down and the food came almost immediately. The restaurant has a great set up so you can get a drink and watch a game before your table is ready. Service is fast and attentive and every server who passed by was kind and friendly and gave tips about how to best enjoy the meal. The grills are replaced pretty much immediately and the food comes out within a minute of ordering it. My favorite items were the seasoned pork but everything feels high quality and is delicious. I would definitely come back and try the soup. We were able to take ice cream home which was a really fun treat.

Got the soupy rice dish (forget the name) with shrimp. SO satisfying! They offer complimentary soup ahead of your entree, along with bread. It was hard not to overeat! Huge portions too, btw. Looks like the place can get busy for dinner so probably best to make reservations.

I'm not sure if it was because it was midweek or if the chef was simply off his game on this night, but the experience was disappointing overall. The first thing I noticed when I sat down was that my knife was dirty. I ended up taking another knife from a different table. The ambiance, as always, was wonderful, and there were only two other tables occupied, so the restaurant was not busy at all. They started us off with soup, and it was chicken noodle soup. I was honestly very disappointed. When I go to a Spanish restaurant, especially one like this, I expect something traditional like caldo gallego or a similar house soup -- not chicken noodle soup that I could easily make at home. For appetizers, we ordered shrimp in garlic sauce and calamari. Both were absolutely delicious and honestly the highlight of the meal. We also had to ask the waiter for bread, and when it finally arrived, we were each given one very small roll. Our main entrées were sautéed tilapia and shrimp in lemon sauce with mashed potatoes and string beans, and breaded veal cutlet Milanese with mushrooms in a wine and brandy sauce over mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, neither entrée stood out the way meals here usually do. The tilapia was sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes and absolutely swimming in lemon sauce. There was so much sauce that it completely soaked the mashed potatoes and vegetables. I could only eat the top portion of the fish. My husband also mentioned that his breaded veal was very oily. The waiter never returned to ask if we wanted anything else to drink. The water had no ice and felt warm. We also had to ask for additional bread. I'm used to bread being left at the table, not rationed piece by piece. When the waiter asked if we enjoyed our meal, I politely explained that I did not care for mine and why, especially since most of it was left untouched. He looked at me like I had ten heads. I truly hate writing this because this restaurant has been one of my favorites for years, but this visit just did not live up to the standard I've come to expect.

First off, the Veg Samosa was awesome!…read moreYou get 2 very good sized ones, that were very flaky and crunchy with flavorful potato and pea filling. Excellent. But the vegetable Assorted Pakora ( battered and fried veggies) was not good at all. It was doughy and soft, not crispy at all and bland tasting. A total loss. Then the Spring Rolls were a pleasant recovery from that, nice sized, several with the order, and tasted good. The Chicken Pakora (battered fried chicken nuggets) was middle of the road, not too crispy, but the chicken was tender and enjoyable with the spicy dipping sauce. The Onion Kulcha (soft flatbread with onions, herbs and spices in it) was not bad, and went well with the main dish, which was Chicken Nargisi. This is chicken chunks in a spicy coconut milk sauce which was very good. This came with a very generous portion of basmati rice (huge portion, enough for 3-4 people as a side). The rice was aromatic, cooked correctly, not gummy at all. The coconut chicken was seasoned well, the chicken was tender with plenty of sauce. Also a large enough portion to make 2 meals out of it. The Samosas were the standout of the meal, highly recommended.
