I was in town visiting family. My cousin recommended this spot for local ice cream. This spot is located on the corner of an intersection. Parking is kind of limited but there's street parking in the area. This is a walk-up-to-the-window-and-order kind of spot. No seating and no actual inside. My cousins and I all got a small hard serve on a cone. I got the Oreo Cookie. When the staff came back with our ice cream, we were shocked at how much ice cream they give. There were probably 5 scoops of ice cream in my cone! If I had realized how big it'd be, I would've went a size down. That's just all to say, you definitely get your money's worth of ice cream. The Oreo Cookie was yummy. I loved the Oreo bits in the ice cream. The texture was good and consistent. Staff was friendly and quick. Overall, good ice cream spot! read more

This is a local family-owned ice cream parlor that has been opened in Everett since the 1980's. Stopped by here earlier this week and picked up a mini pistachio soft serve ($4.50) after dinner nearby which I enjoyed! Not a lot of places serve pistachio soft serve so i was very happy that they had this on their menu! Looking forward to make a trip back here soon so that I can try out their banana soft serve as well as some of their other ice creams. read more

Good prices, good variety of ice cream and smoothies and soft serve but the menu outside is unclear as to what you can actually order. There are some photos and labels for items but I just wish everything was more clear before you order. Very good place with great staff and good menu. I love their soft serve, especially with their sundae's. They have one of the best selections in soft serve flavor options. The only thing they are a bit lacking in is in the variety of flavors available for their hard ice cream. For example, they have my favorite flavor, coffee, in soft serve, but not in hard ice cream. What they do have though is very high quality products and great service all around. They also have their own parking lot, which makes getting service that much easier. The past twenty-five+ years of coming here I've only had to park in the street once or twice. 'This is an eat-in-your-car or to place, as there's no seating, either indoor or outdoor; that's not a problem at all since I think most people get it to bring home. I was driving down the street and I noticed the big nostalgic sign and I knew I had to stop. I noticed the parking lot was roped off to allow good spacing and parking which was appreciated. After the lady in front of me was gone as stepped up and was greeted warmly by the owner. He told me about the business and how its a 2nd generation family owned place. He let me sample the freshly made banana soft serve, it was delicious but lactose intolerance would not allow a regular order of it. I decided on an orange creamsicle ice instead. Despite it being dairy free, it was so creamy and delicious! I will definitely check them out on my next visit to Boston. read more

My childhood comfort ice cream place to go. Dairy maid has such a great assortment of flavors and the level of creativity never ceases to amaze me. I had the strawberry banana twist and it tasted like a yoplait yogurt. It was very good I recommend you try any ice cream, frozen yogurt, or slush you won't be disappointed. Over the years I have intentionally detoured down Rt 1, as opposed to the more direct 95, just so I could drive by Dairy Maid. And get a kiddie cup of pistachio soft serve. I've also been known to upgrade to a small here! It is the only place I know that serves pistachio soft serve. That tastes like real pistachio. I have never had suchand ice cream together, and I was skeptical, however it was delicious! in mixed together so perfectly and the slush flavor gave it the perfect touch of flavor. I take no pleasure in saying this but coming from an African-American it appears that the Dairy Maid owner is racist. My family and I have been buying ice cream from Dairy Maid for over 20 years with no issues (however we never had an order made for us by the owner until today). Today, my sister asked for a brownie sundae and it was the owner who was going to make the order. My sister noticed that the owner was NOT using gloves when he was putting the brownie in the cup for her (during this pandemic of COVID). She didn't say anything at that exact moment but after he gave her the sundae she told him that he didn't use gloves. Immediately after she said that he goes, "Take your money back and don't ever come back here again!" For any African-American reading this or anyone who believes that the OWNER displayed an act or sign of racism based on what happened to my sister today should not support Dairy Maid by not buying anything from there anymore. For anyone who believes that the OWNER of Dairy Maid made a poor decision by NOT using gloves when placing brownies in a cup to make a sundae should be wary the next time you go to Dairy Maid. The other workers there always use gloves when we go there, but the OWNER did not today and banned my sister from going there again for mentioning that he was not wearing gloves. This is downright shameful and I'm going to ensure that everyone that I know hears about this disgraceful action made today by the Owner of this store. read more

Took a walk here after dinner tonight and this place was amazing! The staff were super friendly and quick. We ordered the pistachio soft serve and banana frappe. The soft serve was good, the pistachio flavor wasn't too strong but still delicious and a good portion of ice cream swirled on top of the cone. The banana frappe was incredible!! Super strong banana flavor and real banana pieces mixed in; and for $6 the size of the frappe was huge. I will definitely be taking many more walks here this summer, I already have a handful of other items from their menu on my list to try! read more

I wish I could love Dairy Maid, it's within walking distance from my house and who doesn't love a frozen treat? The girls that work here though are all teenaged little snots. They are too busy gossiping with each other to quickly serve the huge line that always forms here. I don't care who Johnny is dating, I just want my slush. They also do not keep the posted open and close times, if you come at 10PM, they're closed despite the huge sign stating open until 10:30. That's just unacceptable to me. So why the 3 stars? They do so much business here that my slush is always fresh and never the frozen clumpy stuff you get at most places. That's worth a lot to me because I am very particular about my slush. read more

I give this 5 stars because of its proximity to where I live, the fact that it runs through Malden Center (which also has some great food spots) and the quality/speed of service and product. So essentially, I just gave it the best rating because it fulfills all the requirements to achieve it. Usually I like to frequent this place when visiting Malden Center to grab a quick bite to eat (a la Mandarin Malden or Exchange Street Bistro or even Saigon Noodle) in which I can head up the street and grab a delicious soft serve for about $5. Pretty good size too. I started just buying the quarts for around $9 since its 3 times the size of their larges and I like to take it home to enjoy over the course of the next few days. The service is pretty top notch as they always have a line but you never wait for too long (maybe 10 minutes at most) and they provide free samples to try and never look at you like a freeloading bum if you do ask for them. They also provide street side entertainment (caricature drawings and singing performers) to make your time waiting less miserable (or more so, if you don't like the music, but hey we can't win them all). Not too many places offer all this excitement in one spot, while waiting to get ice cream! The place is your atypical nostalgic neighborhood ice cream stand (conveniently located next to a "packie") that simply just provides good memories and a better experience. They offer lots of ice cream choices and quantity is justified by their prices. I like coffee oreo here and the soft serve (the coffee soft serve is pretty dang good). Highly recommended if you are in the area, and you can tell it is a definite local favorite by the fact that there is always a line (ALWAYS A LINE HERE WHEN VISITING BETWEEN 6-9PM). read more
