The service was great and it was a slow night. My wife and I each had the fish and chips which has been one of my favouites in the past. Well what a disappointment. The so called (tartar sauce) was nothing more than green relish you might put on a hotdogs. The fish was so overdone I could hardly break it. I will say the fry it was served with were excellent. Don't think I will be ordering that again any time soon. My wife had the same disappointing result. I will keep broadways for breakfast and lunch. They excell at that. read more

We were looking for a new lace where some of us could have breakfast and some of us could have lunch items if needed to. There were recommendations for this place and decided to drive a little and go there. It was a Friday late morning and the place not packed, but busy. Can only imagine what would be on a Saturday or Sunday. The service quick and pleasant. The server was cheerful and attentive. Ordered a BLT, a California Benedict, a Mixed Berries Waffle and some plain toast and home fries. Coffee was fresh and had a good flavour to it. The refills were made without waiting for a long time. The California B was nicely made and eggs perfectly poached. The Home Fries were garlicky and yum. The toast perfectly made. The waffles could have been better as it seemed slightly over done. Was disappointed with the menu a bit as very limited options that were available without dairy or eggs. Wish they could accommodate it. All in all a good visit. read more

This morning ordered the Broadway Skillet. Arrived with burned and dried sausage, burned and dried bacon, and a few onions. Only thing fresh was the egg and cheese dumped over top of the food that had seemingly been allowed to sit and dry up in the kitchen. Breakfast came with toast, which I thought was suppose to be buttered, but...wasn't. When the server attended, showed her my plate and the burned / dried food. To say that she seemed not to care would be a vast understatement. So, not much of a surprise when the bill arrived. Took some pics. Have a look for yourself. read more

I needed to edit this review to add that we have now returned on multiple occasions since my first visit. OMG wow! This place is just amazing. Everything we try is outstanding. I just can't get over how delicious their food is. How amazing their servers are and how great of an atmosphere it has. My new favourite spot!!!!!! Would I return? YES! Parking: Plenty of parking, however, it is shared with other stores. Therefore, I am sure it gets crowded at times. Atmosphere: Busy but great! We had no problem getting someone's attention. Super causal and relaxed. Servers: Our server was super friendly and the hosted was as well. Everyone seemed content and ready to serve. Ordering: It took a little bit to place the order but I truly won't even complain about that. They were busy and it gave me time to review their entire menu. Food: A++++ .... the best breakfast I've had in a very long time. The portions are enormous too! I had to pack half of it to take home. Prices: Reasonably priced. We paid $44 before tip for 2 people to have breakfast. We left super satisfied and I had left overs. They seem to have a special every day if the week. I will post pics of them with the review. I just love this place. It's my goto greasy spoon breakfast joint. The servers are always up beat, especially the guy that's always wearing shorts, even in the winter. Take 3 is my usual and it's the home fries that keep me coming back again and again. They're perfect crispness and slathered in this glorious garlic butter sauce that is just dreamy. Sometimes when I'm feeling real ambitious I'll get an order to go so I can eat them later that day. The sausages are tasty and they're always cooked well, which I prefer. They also substitute extra bacon for the ham without issue. Parking is the only real issue at this place, it's jammed on weekends and the people at the gas station started towing cars that park over on that side decreasing it even more. Overall I love this place for breakfast and used to frequent it often when I lived in the area. It's also my favorite location of all the broadways. read more

Today was the first time in a LONG time that I've made breakfast before 10 a.m. Let me tell you Yelpers, it was totally worth it! It's been years since I've been to Broadways, but I used to drop by quite a bit when I lived in the 'hood. I remember the food always being kind of decent, but nothing to write home about. Today was a much better experience! First of all, we had a fantastic server who was totally on the ball, but not in your face constantly. Just loved her. Second - we were in a rush. One of my lovely dining companions had a flight to catch so we were on the clock. Our food came fast, warm and delicious. I got a breakfast club in a whole wheat wrap (usually comes on toast), with hashbrowns and a field berry smoothies. Yum yum! My partners in crime got eggs benedict and the other a breakfast special with eggs, meal and toast. All were very happy with their food, though most of us couldn't finish our hash browns (there were just too many gosh darmint!) One thing I was very intrigued by but just couldn't stomach that early? Breakfast poutine! Our server mentioned it's a huge fave among the later breakfast go-ers (need to soak up last night's alcohol anyone?). My favourite thing was my smoothie believe it or not. It was super natural, not uber sweet and the berries were delicious. All in all, this experience absolutely made me excited to head back to Broadways to try some more of their breakfast fare. Who knows, maybe I'll make it back for dinner and lunch someone soon as well! read more

On a friends recommendation, my groups of friends and I tried Broadway this morning for Sunday brunch. The rather large restaurant was absolutely packed and hopping with activity - always a good sign. The service at our table was really good. The menu had a lot to offer. I thought the options were maybe a little pricey for breakfast (for example my breakfast of 2 eggs, toast, hash-browns, bacon and pancakes was $14.50). On the other hand, the dish was plentiful and the hash-browns were rather fabulous. Everything was really good and our table of 8 did not have any complaints. I also thought the java was quite good for a bar&grill/non-coffeehouse coffee. Yes I would definitely recommend to a friend and would return for brunch again in the future. It might be useful to know the establish,doesn't take reservations for Sunday breakfast/brunch. Our large group had to wait about a half hour for a table. read more

I went there for a light brunch and was really pleasantly surprised. It is very reasonably priced. For around $5 got an egg, toast and hashbrowns. Not sure what they used to fry those potatoes but they tasted sooooo good! Service is absolutely fantastic(it wasn't busy at all though). Best place for Sunday brunch in Ottawa - especially after a late Saturday night. The menu is broad and even includes smoothies, but the best item is the hash browns which have great flavour! I've tried to replicate them, but it's their own unique seasoning that makes them great. read more

Ottawa is full of pubs and bars, so it can be a strenuous and time-consuming task to try them all out to see which one is to become your hang-out. Broadways is not like many bars in town in the sense that it doesn't have that UK/Irish vibe to it. But, like those kind of bars, Broadways is cozy and very friendly. I went there on a Monday night and found the place busy enough for an early weeknight (although far from packed). There was a nice crowd of people hanging out at the bar, giving it hip barfly kind of feeling. The menu is typical bar/pub grub (wings, sandwiches, nachos, etc.). The wings (my yardstick for measuring a bar's priciness) were $8.99 a pound - way less than many I've frequented. The menu also had a HUGE list of cocktails and an impressive list of beers on tap - for about $6 for a 20 ounce draft. Not too shabby for this expensive burgh. There are plenty of big screen tvs with the latest game on, so you won't miss any of the action. Broadways has a great vibe and moderate prices. Give it a try! read more

Ate here today for the first time and we really enjoyed it. We had friends come into town from Edmonton who asked us to take them to a good spot so we could have brunch and catch up. I Yelped and got the reviews on this place and it's all true...great place. We got the waiter in shorts lol and he took our orders promptly and the food came pretty quickly even though the place was packed. The food was great; two of us had Eggs Bene with salmon, one had a Western omelette and one had the Canadian Omelette (lots of meat). We all enjoyed our meals and of course the hash browns were to die for. The service was sometimes a little forgetful, but it was busy and he apologized and fixed the problems when they came up. He was friendly and personable and it was all good in the end. The place was packed with a lot of young folks and families and there was a big line up after noon. We got there at 1100 so no problem getting a table...it soon filled up. My advice is to arrive early and you'll have no problem. We'll go back. read more

If I'm unsure as to what to eat, this is my place to go. You want greasy food? They got it. Healthy food? They have a small selection. They even have a small menu for the kids. The restaurant is big with several tv always tuned in to some sport channel, I will admit the seating could be upgraded hence the 4 and not 5 stars. I think they have a special Monday to Thursday (for example wing special, burger special and fajita 2 for 1 special). The service is pretty nice although sometimes the waitresses can be overwhelmed. Unlimited pop when ordering a main meal. Things to try out: Broadway Special Dip, Nachos Supreme and the Broadway wrap! read more

I only put one star because I had too. Personally in my opinion this was the worst place to go and eat. The food is terrible And my burger was pink and bloody. The seating was not very good Nd the chairs are uncomfortable. When we were seated there was used plates utensils and cups and cleaned it as we were sitting there. The server was lazy and did not check on us even once. Only to take our order and give us the bill. I had to walk from the dining area to the bar so that I could get a refill on my pop. The bill was wrong and had some items from a totally separate table in the bill. Took her 10 min to come over and when I said it was not my order she huffed and walked away. Waiting another 14 min for the bill to be corrected. I have not been back since and I never will go back. It was defiantly dirty , gross food and terrible service from the server. No thanks ! Don't waste your time. Go to a different Broadway's if anything. The one in Orleans is way better. read more

I had a delicious brunch here. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff here. Ordered an omelette. It was alright but those home fries are to die for. I live near by and my husband and I are very frequent guests at The Broadway Grill. One of our favorite places. Food is ordinary but always delicious, and servers are our best friends.
