I ordered the Fish & Chips, which was sea salt and malt vinegar crusted fish that came with fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. The one piece of fish was a generous portion, so I was glad I only ordered one instead of my usual two. I was happy with the dish overall. My wife got The Mill Burger that has two beef patties, brie cheese, pickled onions, bacon, tomatoes and chipotle mayo. She upgraded and got a Caesar salad instead of fries. Her burger was really good and flavourful! I would order it the next time we go because it was so juicy and delicious. Her Caesar salad upgrade was also tasty and worth it. We both got two beers each during the date, which were a bit expensive but it was a nice treat for a night out. This tavern is a spot worth checking out in Manotick if you're in the area.

When we showed up, we saw the true name of the bar and were beyond shocked. Two of us are Native Americans and we didn't even want to go inside when we saw the true name of the dive. But we had driven over an hour to get there and decided to overlook our discomfort with the name and played anyway. During one set, an older man who was dancing dropped like a hammer, flat on his face right on the dance floor. He didn't move for many minutes and looked absolutely dead. We stopped playing at that point and asked the bartender if we should call 911 but she was adamant that he would be OK and that we should leave things be. Eventually, the man was dragged off the floor and regained consciousness, although he seemed very dazed. This joint should be closed on the basis of the name alone. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Here's why I like it: the waitress is friendly, kind with everyone, and remembers you if you haven't been there in months. There is a jukebox, and a pool table and seats at the bar for like 8 people. There are several video lottery machines and a crowd of friendly regulars who are glued to them. There's a board where locals are voting on how long it'll take for the ice on the lake to melt.
