We walked in and it was very cozy inside. The staff were friendly and attentive. They were giving out free samples of hot chocolate and a square made of peanut butter, chocolate and candy cane. So yummy! I ordered a Gingerbread Latte and an Italian Trio sandwich. My Mom ordered a Hot Chocolate and a Chicken Pesto sandwich. Everything was tasty and fresh! I loved the flavour of my coffee. Mmm perfect for the Christmas season! There's more seating available upstairs and a few seats downstairs. There are lots of plants and owl decor around the cafe, which contribute to the cozy vibe. I can see myself coming back again in the future with friends for coffee catch ups.

It's an interesting place in that it's a non-profit restaurant with proceeds going to various charities in town. Except for the cooks, the staff (a lot of them high school students) are volunteers. They serve tea in teapots with tea cozies and use the real deal China teacups. They serve delicious homemade pies, scones, muffins and various other baked goods. It's a pretty cool place. I ended up mixing the creamy sauce with the hot sauce and it was an excellent choice. The fries were shoestring (one of my favourites), but were only semi-crispy. The strawberry and cream biscuits were excellent - fresh sliced strawberries with whipped cream inside a vanilla cream scone/biscuit. Easily the best dessert from that spread. The brownies were ok. They were really dense and very sweet. The chocolate chip cookies were filled with so many mini chocolate chips. They were on the hard side and my preference is for chewy cookies, but one of my co-workers had 3 cookies, so if you like the harder and more crumbly type of cookie, I think you'd like these.
