"My cats inspire me daily. They inspire me to get a dog!" ― Greg Curtis…read more The cat distribution system has finally gotten around to me and chose to give me the fluffiest lint trap of a cat. She's a part-time outdoor cat (mainly roaming the streets in the early morning) that chooses to pop in for a warm bed (usually my laptop) and some freeze dried space niblets (seafood flavored kibble). Ever since Gracie came into my life, a name I heard my neighbor's calling her, I've been trying to get her little things here and there to make her life better. As I type this, I see the cloud cat tower she's used once while getting a delivery alert for the outdoor house I bought her. So when I was at Whole Foods recently, I noticed this pet store right next door. With time to spare, I meandered in to see what offerings they had. Their dog selection is the majority of the store with two rows for felines and even less for other types pets you might have. They also have a dog washing station for those who might need to bathe Bruno. The price point is a bit higher but I believe you are supporting local. So while your buck might not get you too far here, at least it's going to a family-owned business.

This review is based off our experience at Petsmart Groomers, not the store itself…read more My friend and I came in here to pick up her dog yesterday from the groomers. We were the only ones in there at first. There was one girl in the middle of grooming a dog and the girl at the front desk was in the middle of a call so we waited for her to end the call. During her time on the call, my friend had to run back out to the car to grab the leash. At the same time, a man walked in to pick up his dogs as well. Cramped, small space but no problem, we all just waited there til her call ended to be helped. Now the issue... As soon as she hung up the call, she didn't acknowledge the fact that we were there first or even ask which dog we were picking up or give us the bill!! She instantly turns to the guy and says "picking up ______ & _____, right?" then hands him his bill. By this time, my friend was walking back in. Even after handing him his bill, she still didn't say anything to us. We had to tell the girl we were there to pick up a dog. She then proceeds to pick up the phone and says she has to call another client. My friend had to ask if the paper sitting in the holder was her bill. The girl didn't say anything so my friend just grabbed it to see if her dog's name was on it, and it was. Extremely rude!! You need to be assisting the customer who came in first before the others AND should be assisting them before jumping on another call. The girl who was grooming actually came over to check on us after she had finished grooming and helped us more than the one at the front desk did! Thank you to her. The one on the phone finished her call and then went to play with the dog that was just groomed. I really hate to call out my own people but sometimes you just have to. Please re-train her. That was poor customer service. Oh and my friend had also asked for an additional service to be done but realized at pick up that it was not added.

I was excited to find a self-serve dog wash in our neighborhood, fairly close by and at a…read morereasonable price. First couple of visits went fine. Everyone was super friendly, but I noticed that a couple things that were really lacking: adequate towels and a clock inside the washing room. I've mentioned both before during check out. When you're selling dog washes, apparently lots of people want them. This was probably my 5th wash and every time someone gets in line behind me. For someone like me with ADHD no way to measure time passing in a shared space and with soapy hands making me keep my phone in my pocket? No clock is a distinct disadvantage (feel free to interpret that as ABLEIST because you're introducing hurdles that only impact ND folx). Hearing there's someone in line behind you and you've got 15 minutes -- is stressful especially when there's no clock and the towels are barely thicker than a paper towel. It makes the task is exponentially harder to finish quickly. I had to walk to the front when I realized that while she time checked me, the lady working but didn't bother asking if I needed anything and that no more towels were coming. Bit strange having to beg for more towels when she literally commented "gosh, is that a fluffy dog!" as we signed in. Yeah my dog has a double coat which you have acknowledged seeing so I don't know why you're trying to cheap out on the towels? It was actually a safety hazard. There was water everywhere because I could not get enough of his water out of his coat in order to walk him safely from the washing room to the front counter even after the second batch of towels. I mentioned it was unsafe and I wish I'd have gotten more towels when I asked for them, and also that it was difficult to keep moving within their timeframe/to be respectful to the other guest when there's no clock available. The lady working could not have cared any less. She didn't acknowledge my concern just dismissed. "Oh if there wasn't someone waiting behind you, I wouldn't have hurried you." Well no kidding and I wouldn't need a clock if I wasn't trying to be courteous. I could have taken my own time and been in there long enough to get my dog adequately dry. Instead I had my dog dripping water and soaking into my car seats when I left the dog wash. If that's a dog wash is a service that you're prepared to offer, please do it so that people can have a successful experience. Today blew really hard but actually it's the same challenges I've faced before when using their service and today decided I'm not their ideal customer with my expectations. Pet Planet should think about some ways to ensure people want to come back or at least feel they gotten enough of what they paid for to move on with their day. If I knew I'd only get the wash half done I wouldn't have started. A wet husky/malamute is a recipe for a stinky dog and or skin problems from being wet too long. I'm hoping we don't end up with an unexpected vet visit after this.
