Great food, great drinks, great service! We love the ambiance of the restaurant. You may go casual or go there for a romantic date! They never miss!

What a burger. Side of veggies.

Other than losing our waitress to others, we had an excellent experience from the delicious Dominican food to the superb atmosphere with a one man band entertaining us very close to our table.

Even the veggies were good! And those Caribbean wings were jamming. My coworkers picked up tacos and beef stew and they were also raving. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. The service was excellent and it's a really cool space. I did spot Blantons and Bookers behind the bar for those whiskey lovers.

Can't go wrong with the Eggs Benedict... so delicious!!!

Some friends invited us to this restaurant and it was a five-star experience for sure! Our server Elliott (sorry if I spell your name wrong) was great. She was very attentive and answered any questions we had about the food and drinks. The atmosphere is casual. When you enter the restaurant there are high top tables and the bar area. In another room there are regular tables and is a nice room for larger parties. The hubs ordered tuna with rice and beans. He said it had a great flavor and it was cooked perfectly. I ordered the shrimp trifongos and it comes with a side salad made of mixed greens on the same plate. I also ordered the strawberry mash which included whisky and it was awesome. Before we left they also had live music in the bar area. We will definitely be back!

This place was very rewarding on the recommendation of friends and a yelp app, we decided to give it a try for late lunch, early dinner. we're not disappointed . we agreed on the service was tremendous. The food was delicious. I ordered a mahi-mahi and my dining partner ordered a gigantic tomahawk pork chop. Service and the food great The atmosphere upbeat, the restaurant was clean and inviting. It was a enjoyable afternoon. If I come back this way, I would have to try it again and recommend you do give it a try.

NEW LOCATION! please understand that the restaurant has moved across the street in a newly renovated and designed spot! Same ownership as the new UpNorth Pizzeria (awesome pizza!) Tonight we came for drinks after dinner and the new spot is awesome! Great atmosphere and the manager is very accommodating. Live music here seems to be the best in town, full bar available, and more dining areas than we expected. The food looked incredible, and if it's as good as it was before the move (I'm sure it is) then it's surely to be one of the best dining spots in Goldsboro! Looking forward to returning to sample the menu.

Brisas is SO GOOD I had to come more than once while visiting Goldsboro. My first visit was on a Thursday evening, I came in with 3 coworkers I was traveling with, they have a great location in downtown Goldsboro with street parking and a nearby parking lot which were both free. We were promptly seated and our drink orders taken, they have a full bar and a beer/ wine list to choose from. I ordered a water and the Veggies Trifongo, which is made up of sweet plantains, green plantains and yuca, topped with fresh sautéed bell peppers, zucchini and spinach in a savory sauce the meal cake with a small salad on the side. We all enjoyed our dishes and my coworkers enjoyed a large piece of Tres Leches cake before we called it a night. My second visit was on Sunday for brunch, I was starving and ordered both the Brisas salad and Avocado Sunrise (no egged, no cheese, no butter) from the brunch menu. The salad was huge, a full plate filled with greens, fresh mango, fresh pineapple, tomatoes, cucumbers and half of an avocado with their house made vinaigrette, it was delicious. Their avocado sunrise was a big surprise to me, I assumed it would be a small plate since I removed the eggs... I was wrong! The serving was more than enough for 2 people! Plated was crispy potatoes, corn, black beans, onions and a sliced avocado on top, it was seasoned perfectly. I took half with me and ate it for dinner later. On this visit I also had a house speciality mojito with passion fruit, that drink deserves 5 stars too! Delicious! Their prices are very reasonable, service was exceptional, the dishes are high quality and interesting. This is just what Goldsboro needed and I'm so happy they are here and doing well. I'll be back soon!

Punta Cana Mahi-Mahi, taste just like it looks...delicious!!!

We had ordered light because we'd had a late lunch, and this was plenty for both of us. I should have written this review sooner so I would remember exactly what we spent, but it was quite reasonable. If you're visiting the nearby Whirligig Park as we were, this was a nice little walk- just a few minutes up the road. Next time we're in town, we will definitely be back!

The reviews no matter how old are true!…read more This is not anywhere near how an oxtail plate should taste, look, nor smell (it's not bad but not like oxtail "basically boiled meat"). The meat was 3 pcs with loads of fat as you can see (thought it was dumplings ) and about 7 SUPER SUPER SUPER tiny pcs. Honestly it was very reminiscent of Golden Corrals roast flavor, look, and smell. OMG this plate is definitely a $15 option being that you're barely giving the customer anything. I will gladly pay $30 for an oxtail plate as money is not the issue but quality is what we're missing here. So let me start with I called to place a pickup order and 2 people answered. I was told to just come in it only takes 3min. I arrived and waited a hot 10. Also it was dark and very uninviting which was kind of weird. Customer service was not huge and iykyk fine. I ordered and added a beef patty of which I was told was mild. It was spicy which was ok because that's what I wanted that actually tasted fine. The sides were not tasty at all I do not trust to try any other options because this is the test for most Caribbean restaurants. In my book I'm putting a Gordon R sticker by this place as it's TOAST. Try at your own risk which is what I did but the people have spoken and for a huge first I agree with them!!! SN: if the restaurant doesn't show you the plate before you leave just know you're gonna regret it

When I walked in, the employee preparing my food was on the phone the entire time and had a rude attitude. I asked about the oxtail lunch special because I hadn't been there in a while and couldn't remember the portion sizes. Although the menu listed the lunch special from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for $15.55, it wasn't clear which size the special applied to. I assumed the special price applied regardless of the size. Instead of explaining the options, the employee rushed me to choose a size while still talking on the phone. When she brought my two plates to the register, they were both large, and my total came to about $55. I wasn't upset about paying the price--I was upset because I had specifically asked about the lunch special first. When I questioned the total, she rolled her eyes, caught an attitude, and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. At that point, I no longer wanted to spend my money there, so I walked out. It didn't matter that there were other customers behind me. All that needed to happen was for her to explain the special or switch my meal to the correct size if I misunderstood. Instead, I was met with poor customer service and a disrespectful attitude. That's why I decided to leave.

Ive never had oxtail before and I probably won't order it again even though it was tasty. It was a little too rich for me. The plantains were cooked to perfection and the cabbage was a surprise because it tasted almost creamy it was so good. The meat patties were coated in the traditional curried pastry and had just enough spice to have a nice kick. I couldn't tell the difference between the mild and the spicy but enjoyed sampling both. Just to give you an idea of the spice level, I usually order Indian food "mild", maybe a medium when I'm feeling rebellious. The Mac & Cheese is how I like it best. Fresh grated cheddar melted with hot macaroni. Next time I'll try the Goat Curry because I've never had goat and I'm curious about their curry. There's a hallway between them and Bays Seafood so you can order from both menus. At this time they seem to be still be set up for mostly takeout. There are a few places to sit but there is no ambiance.
