Lonely place and Bad customer service. Went there for for dinner to sit out in the patio one a beautiful night. Immediately after sitting we smelled smoke. Did not think much of it until after we ordered. Some other guests that look to have been there for a while started smoking. I asked them if they can hold off on smoking while we eat as it can be hazardous to my asthma. Instead they giggled and offered to switch spots. I refused since the smoke still travels. And why would I want to eat where they have been smoking. Instead the other guy lit another. Clearly no respect for a fellow man. The waitress, instead of following the Illinois guidelines, said she doesn't make the rules and it is a smoking section. Illinois guidelines says no smoking within 15 ft of the entrance, vent or windows. The two smokers were 3ft from the front door and door to get to the patio. There was no signs to indicate a smoking section nor were we given the option of a non smoking section. No apologies from either smokers nor staff. Now I see why it was empty during peak dinner hour. I've been there twice before but wife never liked it and we finally had a chance to go and now they have lost me as a customer. read more

Came here on Saturday morning. I arrived shortly after they opened. What a beautiful cafe , hardwood floors , nostalgic pictures all over the walls , clean and cute . Looked like someone's dream cafe coming to life . Only a party of 4 , another lady and myself in the entire place . I ordered the omelette, Came with potatoes and two pancakes. Only one high school waitress working and she was mature , extremely polite and very informative. Shortly later she was joined by another young waitress. My food came out , omelette came out , it was huge . Slightly undercooked and not piping hot . Pancakes were monster size . Not hot enough to melt the butter . I want to come back and try a couple sandwiches that my waitress recommended, flaming chicken and steak sandwich. I'm believing with the 11$ price tag that it's loaded with chicken and steak . read more

Loukoumades were not that great. Tasted like old oil. My friends mentioned they heard good things about them but we were all disappointed. Ordered a drip coffee which was handed to me in 10 seconds? Not told to sit or wait anywhere while you wait 15 mins for your Loukoumades to be made. Meanwhile the owner sits at a table which seemed like front office. No friendly greeting, barley any communication and lack of service. read more

After four and a half months, my husband and I decided to take the leap and dine out for the first time. I read that Briki had outdoor seating and I did miss their food. I have to say while I was still nervous, Briki seemed to have all of the right precautions in place. The food came out quick and was very good. I actually had breakfast for the first time, I was accustomed to and almost tempted for lunch. Our server was very nice and attentive. My only note would be regarding the pancakes - I like that the outside had a bit of crisp, however it kind of tasted faintly of meat. I'm guessing they are cooked on the same surfaces. It didn't make the taste bad, per se, but it was a little odd. Overall though, we were very happy with our decision to come in. read more

Briki Cafe - Spanakopita omelette with French toast , so delicious! - Greek Near Me - Addison, Illinois

I was confused by the menu, it's advertised as Greek food but I saw a lot of American gentrification. I got Briki toast which is just a fancy way to say a sandwich with turkey, ham, tomatoes and a broiled egg. I rarely eat ham not for respectable reasons I just don't like it but for some reason ham and turkey in sliced deli form was delicious. Then they had the gall to throw a boiled egg in the middle of the sand which daring it to be to dry but turning out amazing. Definitely want to try more. read more

New restaurant. Nice decor, rustic Greek design. They serve all three meals. We were a little confused as to the type of service we would get here. When we walked in there was a party of 6 standing at the counter ordering and they took quite some time to make up their minds. With only one register this could potentially be an issue when there's an influx of diners. It's not a full service restaurant but not fast food. It's almost like a Panera. You order at the counter and pay, take a number on a stand and go take a seat. The food and drinks are brought to you. Coffee first, and I got the 16 oz figuring that's all I'd need. I asked about the cream and sugar and utensils and we were told most of it was across the way. She asked if we wanted cream which we did and asked about the sweetener options and brought those back for us. My husband went and got the silverware. We waited a while for our food. I get it, they're new, gotta work out the kinks, but I got the coffee figuring it wouldn't be long for the food and by the time the food showed up the coffee was warm and by the time I finished my meal my coffee was cold. The food was quite good. I got the cinnabomb pancakes and my husband got the brioche French toast. We both got sides of meat, bacon for him, sausage for me. Sides were not listed on the given menu, but the girl at the counter added them on. The coffee was good too. I did notice that the syrup had a skin on the top which means it was filled some time before and left uncovered. Details, details. The service was decent. The girls came around a few times to check on us before and after our meal, but not during, and when we finished they cleared our plates right away. Would I go back? Yes, it's a good place to dine. Work the kinks out and it will be a fantastic place to dine. read more

Briki Cafe - Oreo loukoumades! Best ever! - Greek Near Me - Addison, Illinois

I had been eyeing this place since before it was open. We had finally got around to going to it today after church. The service type was unexpected; it's counter service like Panera, but it worked really well. The place itself is beautiful, the decor and atmosphere is pleasant. We had gotten hashes, an omelette, and their buttermilk pancakes. The food is so fresh and simple yet delicious, we will definitely be going here again. I just worry that because of the secluded location that they might be in trouble business wise. They probably have one of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. Love local businesses. read more

My husband and I went here for our first time just yesterday and all I can say is, WOW! The food here is made fresh and I could taste the quality! We went during the day so it wasn't busy at all. The menu is small but great selection nonetheless. The young lady that took our order was polite. The size of the restaurant is pretty big with a small patio that is stretched out. I ended up ordering from the appetizer section : grilled octopus and the meatballs with the cucumber sauce and sliced cucumbers. The meatballs was good and the sauce was definitely homemade and delicious! My cucumber slices could of been a little thinner but that's just me being picky. The pita bread that the dish came with was warm and just baked! Oh my gosh I love this pita bread because of its softness yet crispy consistency. The octopus was char grilled (which was okay for me) but great overall, I believe it's made with just a little bit of olive oil which makes it light and when you squeeze the lemon wedges the juices marry with the octopus so wonderfully! The portions for my appetizers was generous and I ended up with leftovers. My husband got this amazing steak sandwich (well done) and the steak was cooked perfectly to suit the sandwich. It had some sort of leafy green and cheese and mushrooms (but too much) and was put together with this amazing homemade bread that soft and yet reminded me of French bread but had this hint of garlic. The fries were fresh cut and were good as well. For drinks we both opted for the free pineapple water which was interesting but definitely good! I also got the green peach ginger tea which is one of my favorite teas so far! And I also got the last one too! We didn't order any dessert but they have a huge selection of that stuff (almost like a bakery). They also have a coffee bar with handcrafted drinks as well as alcoholic drinks which look good too. They also do breakfast here which will be the next thing I come here for! I'll will be updating this review on my breakfast adventure! read more

Checked out this new place today with my mother for her birthday. We each ordered a campfire hot chocolate which was good. It's basically a s'mores in hot chocolate form. The waitress was very nice and attentive which is always a huge plus for me. All in all i'm glad we checked it out and will return again. read more

Nice and clean with good service. The saganaki was good, could have been cooked more. The octopus was delicious, not too chewy but not perfect. I tried the Meze sampler was good with the exception of the gyro meet which was on the well done side and dry. Definitely will give it a second try. read more

Been here a few times (disclaimer: all with a Groupon) in the past 6 months. Different times of day. Different menu selections each time. Great portions and mostly delicious. Skillet on last visit was disappointing as the red potatoes were still hard. All it all the food was good and the waitresses were great. Checking out was a whole other story. First visit didn't notice that my $15 Groupon was only worth $13.95. My bad I should have checked it while there. The second time there the complete $15 was credited so I chalked it up to entry error and me not catching it on the previous trip. The last visit $13.95 was deducted and when I asked, she said it was a service charge that is charged for it. Then I asked about the credit card fee her response was an eye roll and yes a charge is applied when using a credit card. I would have paid with cash if I had been advised prior to issuing the receipt to sign. I'm sure there's a way to communicate fees ahead of time so that the guest doesn't feel cheated. The cashiers that I've dealt with there don't know how to do it. Bottom line: Food was good. Waitresses were good. Pay attention to your receipts! The Groupon savings wasn't worth the effort, aggravation and unpleasant transaction. No plans on returning. read more

Adorable place, Mike makes the place what it is. Such an awesome personality. The food was incredible I had the BLTA (Bacon lettuce tomato avocado) sandwich with chicken and the Greek fries. Desert was even better. A Frappe with delicious loukoumades. A must visit for a bite to eat a cup of coffee or just a desert. Family friendly atmosphere. Why not a five star rating. All three of us really enjoyed our gyro plates and gyro pitas. The rice and salad was fresh and tasty. The joint is clean. The food comes fast. They have a few TVs with games on. Both times the service has been spot on. They serve a little alcohol. I hope these folks do well for they seem to have it all put together. read more

This place has take a HUGE dip in customer service. It seems like everytine i've gone they have 1 waiter for the whole restaurant. Sure she's got a bussboy and a good runner but not even people to take time in taking the order for food & drinks. Waited for 30 minutes before some came to take my order. Food is good but service is HORRIBLE & needs a lot of improvement. read more

Came here with a group of nine. My food was good (turkey sandwich), however other food ordered by the group was mediocre at best. Service was slow, forgetful, and the food didn't come out all at once- not well-timed. Nice old-school Greek vibe inside, which was appreciated. read more
