Went there over weekend and they were closing in 40 minutes and there was 1 family just leaving. The staff was nice they said we could order and take it to go . We ordered and waited and waited it was 30 minutes to get the food. Odd thing about restaurant , everything was sticky. My shoes stuck to the floor and my hand resting on wood ledge stuck there. Food was ok, nothing really WOW and chicken was burnt . I know grilled bacon burnt and it was charcoal burnt. There are so many restaurants in that area probably will not go back . They did have a list of really cool smoothies but other then that it was not worth the price. read more

4.5 Stars. What charm in Addison! This a really nice location for breakfast or lunch. I was here for breakfast one morning and from the food to the ambience it was spot on. It's renovated, fresh, and clean plus they have fresh pressed juices to choose from. I had from Greek Benedict (sorry I forgot the name of it) it had a funky smelling strong cheese and it came with side of potatoes, fruit, coffee and green juice. Not only are the portions big to share but priced well. They only slight downfall was that when you wanted to get someones attention no one was around and if they were they were not actively engaging and looking at there phones. For Mother's Day, my kids wanted to take me out for breakfast and were to meet at another restaurant, which I got to first and the wait was 45 minutes, so we went to Brikis and what a nice surprise. Wonderful prices, beautiful menu, great staff. No waiting. And best of all, I am quite impressed with the food. Great food. Will go here again and again. The only thing that lacks is more serious servers that will bring you water or to give you silver ware. The young people Working there are too busy playing and flirting they forget to clean the duty tables and clear them. Other than that I think it is very cozy and cute. We tried this place after its featuring on Chicago's Best. We ordered iced caramel macchiato, mocha latte and greek coffee for drinks. For snacks, we ordered traditional and oreo loukoumades, which are greek donuts. While their coffee tastes amazing, the hot coffee we ordered didn't come hot. It was just warm. You could sip it with a straw. The loukoumades, on the other hand, were good. Our coffees were done by the time they came out of the kitchen. Took them 45 mins. They said they ran out of dough. There were a few tables being served when we were there, and their servants were congregating near the counter like it was a high school recess. ‍ Overall, it's not a place I would intentionally drive from Chicago. Breakfast review only. I'm really not a breakfast eater unless it's around 11am or later. But today was a special day. And because there was a sickie at home, I decided to order breakfast to go. This was my first time trying Briki's breakfast. Lots of morning eats to choose from which was a pleasant surprise after analyzing the menu (yes, I analyze). Decisions, decisions. We went with / He: Savory Crepe aka 'meaty' (they have sweet also). Bacon, ham, sausage, eggs tucked inside a well made crepe, topped with a light, tasty sausage gravy (not heavy or greasy). Of course I tasted his and have to say this was the best item we ordered. I was craving some biscuits and the Cheddar biscuits with sausage gravy, 2 eggs sunny side up was calling out to me. In hindsight, I wish I would've ignored the call. The best part of this dish was the gravy and eggs (prepared perfectly). Biscuits were dense, hard, and left pretty much untouched. Comes with red potatoes which left more to be desired. Nothing special. Croissant french toast - nothing like the name implies. Toasted is more like it with orange preserve and toasted almonds. He enjoyed. I kept thinking I could have easily made this myself for less than $10. One croissant sliced in half. Tyrokafteri 'Toast'. Grilled croissant with avocado spread, bacon, poached eggs topped with spicy whipped feta. I requested no onions, but there it was staring me, and lots of it. In all honesty, this was a complete disaster. Unappealing to the eyes. I don't get the toast part. I couldn't tell what the toast was. Barely any avocado. Good amount of overcooked bacon. Poached eggs were overcooked. Another one bites the dust. We also received by mistake, Banana Bread French toast with fresh banana slices and walnuts. Never tasted, so can't comment, although it looked good. $50 for all the above (minus the complimentary BBFT). 4 stars for the savory crepe. Food is normally good, but watch your receipts!!! Went in 2 separate times recently and had $15 Groupon to use each time. Later noticed that the $15 Groupon was deducted as $13.95. Nothing on the Groupon mentioned any sort of processing fee that would be deducted from the value of the Groupon. Also, both trips I had a 3% credit card fee added to my bill BEFORE I even paid. The first time, the cashier said "oh there is a credit card fee,sorry." I thought it had something to do with the Groupon (I don't but Groupon, my mom gave it to me). The second time I asked why there was a credit card fee when I had not even paid yet. I was told "oh, that is automatically added so we don't forget, but we always take it off!" We recently held our daughter's first birthday here in their new private party room and everything was amazing! We had about 55 people there and everyone was more than comfortable. The food was AMAZING! Everyone complimented us on choosing Briki Cafe and how great everything was. The service was equally AMAZING! This has quickly become one of my favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch spots, despite a few issues recently. Overall, they are doing things well and doing them relatively consistently well, so I can let it slide. It's my understanding that the menu has changed from when they first opened up, so I've never had the honor of trying their Benedicts, which I heard were some of the best. However, I've had my fair share of meals from them and all have been good. The Baked Goat Cheese is tasty, as is the Spicy Feta Spread. The Loukoumades are fun to try but more of a novelty item for me. Their Flamed Chicken Sandwich and Steak Sandwich have been my favorites, so much so that I pretty much exclusively order the Steak Sandwich (sans mushrooms) these days. I also upgrade my side from Fries to Greek Fries. I'm usually only there with my husband or also with his cousin. We've never had any issues. I did come in with a large group for breakfast and some trouble arose, but nothing that wasn't set straight by the end. My Steak Sandwich came out with mushrooms and was overcooked. It was sent back and a new one was made, but it seemed like both had a bit less steak than usual and the sandwich was a little soggy. They also forgot to split up the bill but found a way to do it after the fact. If that's the worst they can do, I'll continue to be a customer. read more

Not bad, but not good Greek food... just average. Started off with a cup of Avgolemono soup which was pretty tasty. It was rich and creamy, packing a zesty lemony punch. Then came the trouble. Ordered falafel as an appetizer ($10 for 6 pc, ridiculously overpriced if you ask me). Falafel was decent in flavor, but horrible in texture. The breading was mostly soggy (although with hints of crispiness), making it rather unenjoyable to eat. The relish that came with it (sort of reminded me of a chimichurri, wish I could remember the name), however, was fantastic! I literally could bathe in it. It was so good I asked for an extra side of it to dip my fries in. I had the gyro flight (consisting of mini chicken, beef/lamb and pork belly gyros) as my main course with a side of Greek fries. Unfortunately, I was served RAW chicken in one of my gyros!! Ok, I'm sure it happens every once in a while. So I sent it back, as I did not want to risk eating any of the other meats on my plate. However, it didn't seem to be much better the second time, as the chicken was mostly grey and rubbery, so I just didn't bother eating it. The beef/lamb and pork belly gyros, however, were pretty solid (and the tzatiki sauce as well). The pita was warm and toasty, which was a plus. Again, way overpriced for the quality (especially the falafel and chicken gyro). Probably won't be returning anytime soon. read more

O.M.G!!! Im pretty sure that this is what heaven tastes like!! When i stepped out of my car I knew I was in for a treat. I could hear Greek music from the parking lot. I walked in and observed the modern decor and cute lighting. I stepped up to the counter and told the man at the counter I had never been here before and didnt know what to do (the food isnt listed on the wall menu, only drinks are). He told me to take a seat and look over the menu and to return to the counter when I was ready. I knew I wanted the iced tea of the day, mango but couldn't figure out what to eat...tough decisions, should I order the village salad or a chicken gyro? I asked the girl behind the counter and she said chicken gyro. I ordered the chicken gyro with a side of fries. I went back and sat down in a really comfortable chair near the window and waited. One of the girls brought me my meal. Chicken gyro: it was cut into slices and cut up into pieces. It was seasoned , unlike any other gyro Ive ever had (thats a good thing!). The tzatziki sauce was generously all over my chicken and it also had onions and tomato. Fries: the fries were fresh and also had potato skin on then. They tasted like they had been soaked in brine (my fave kind of fries). While looking at the menu I noticed they do breakfast as well and also have an amazing selection of coffee and desserts soooo looks like I have to come back to try it all. read more

Was excited to have a Greek restaurant close to home, however, been there 3 times and won't be going back. First time was for breakfast, it was a greasy mess, Americana coffee was awful. Gave them a second chance, just as bad even the Greek coffee was horrible. Service was abominable. Thought that maybe breakfast just wasn't their thing. Tried them for dinner tonight, was not impressed with a gyro dinner plate. The lamb meat was so thin and dry it looked like a rolled cigar. During my visits here, I've had the opportunity to get dinner and Frappes. We tried the Beef Lamb Gyro-Soulvlaki on Pita, the Octopus, and a side of fries. The Gyro is not your typical fast food gyro. You can seriously taste the lamb and see the fat on the meat! Now THAT is what I call authentic! The Octopus blew me away with how delicious it was. I could honestly just eat that for lunch or dinner and be satisfied! The Frappes aren't as thick like Starbucks and are more like iced coffees in my opinion, but they were good. Last, but most certainly not least, the Loukoumades! We tried the Oreo Loukoumades. They are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Especially with the chocolate sauce and oreo bits! They were almost gone after showing them to my family! Briki Cafe is definitely starting out really, really well! The food is amazing, the desserts are amazing, everything here is amazing! Yesterday while having lunch some co workers and friends we are accustomed to being treated like adults when we go out to eat. We order lots of wine and food and really settle in to enjoy the afternoon. Our original waitress closed us out, took her tip and when we started up a new order , we were cut off from ordering more wine. We are all in our late 40's and early 50's hard working , really nice woman. We tip really well , we are always polite and there were no issues. I have to say we were completely blind sided by this, Insulted even. We were not loud, the cafe was empty. No issues, other than our original waitress, got her very nice tip as usual and then told the next waitress to stop serving us after she had left the cafe. When we 1st discovered Briki about 8 months ago, they had no wait staff, the servers were struggling to keep up and we were never rude or impatient and if needed we would help ourselves. Now they have a bunch of very young servers and to have a child tell you that you cannot have another glass of wine, with no reason at all to back up why. Honestly, I will never go back. We could not have been nicer to this establishment while they were starting up and now that they have more help, i guess they forgot who their friends are. There are a lot of places to eat out there. I honestly cant give a greek restaurant a good rating when the best thing I've had there was Mexican style eggs... The restaurant was not at all busy but service was ridiculously slow. Great, relaxing atmosphere, starts getting busy around 12:30pm. Ordered our food and it came out within 20minutes. The Spicy Flamenco was tasty, a little runny from the lettuce being wet but overall really good flavor, not too spicy. Mediterranean Panini was amazing, great flavor, a bit spicier than the Spicy Flamenco but not over bearing. The fries are handcut and seasoned well, almost reminds me of a gourmet version of McDonalds fries. Bill was $20 total so very reasonable for the amount of food we got. We had a Groupon and used it to get takeout from this café. My main concern was how the food would travel and if it would still be as delicious as it looked by the time that I got home. My concerns were completely unfounded. The meatball appetizer was fantastic with the meatballs sitting on a bed of tzaiki with pita on one side and thick sliced cucumbers on the other. I had the pork belly euro plate and my husband went for the euro flight. His flight came with a choice of sides, and he chose the Greek fries which were covered in feta and lemon. I had the salad and rice with my pork belly plate. The salad already had the dressing on it but it was nice and light and the rice was absolutely delicious. Perhaps it was just olive oil and green onion? I'm not really sure. I just know I would have it again. I am looking forward to going back when things open up, to try their breakfasts! read more

First time here and we drove 35 min to try this place out and what a disappointment. 90% of this horrible experience was the service. It wasn't busy and once we were sat it took about 5 min for the server to come over but whatever that was fine. We wanted to try the briki coffee so I was asking our waitress Nina about it. She wasn't thrilled to be at work that's for sure. She explained its strong and u use a spoon to sip it and said it comes with a cookie so we order two. It took 16 min to get the coffee. She walked by a few times but could never seem to get her attention. When she finally brought the coffee which didn't have a cookie on either we ordered. I got the breakfast pitas which were really good and the potatoes were nothing special. My husband ordered the spanakopita and it said it came with mixed greens or rice and when the food came 25 min later it came with fries. Not once did the waitress come to ask how the food was or even asked if we liked the coffee which we didn't get to drink much of it. I took 3 tea spoon sips and the rest was the thick grounds at the bottom. You would think if she saw our coffees barely touched she would of asked if there was something wrong with them but didn't because she never came back until we sat there after we were done eating looking around for 10 min then we got her to come back over to mumble do you want a box then another 10 min to get the bill. Meanwhile a table near us had 2 people come in and what was either the manager or owner sat with them the whole time we were there facing us and never noticed a thing. There was also another female maybe a manager that was seating people and never even looked our way the whole time we were there as we were stuck looking around most of the time. Horrible service would be putting it to nice and watching the manager or owner sit there with friends and never notice how long we were left sitting there is terrible. After reading some of the rave reviews on this place when it first opened, I made a mental note to try it sometime. Unfortunately, perhaps I waited too long because the food I got was absolutely nothing to rave about. I ordered a gyro with a side salad to take home. The gyro consisted of pita bread with no more than 6 shavings of cold , tiny pieces of gyro meat, onions and a slice of tomato. The salad was a spring mix, very generous but without any dressing. Briki- you have so much potential but you're just not there yet. I want to love you and keep going back to you but sadly I always leave semi disappointed. I don't know how many more chances I can give you before I give up for good. Your ambiance is great and if course I love your location near my home. It's one of a kind in Addison and in the west burbs. I used to live in Greek town and always visited Meli cafe and the other Greek restaurants- there weren't any comparable options in this area until Briki came along. I also love the menu design and its offerings- the chef knows his stuff. It's priced right, portion sizes are perfect, and the menu size and options are spot on. Now, where briki fails me miserably... The food. It's always hit or miss on freshness. The saganaki is almost always great- comes out sizzling hot and tastes delicious. Once or twice it came out cold but that was during my initial visits and I haven't had that problem the last 10 times or so. Everything else is hit or miss. I've tried the octopus at least 5 times and the first time it was out of this world, but the 4 last times it was not memorable and once even disturbingly slimy. The gyro meat has good flavor but always seems to come out cold. This is a big problem every time we go- the meat has great flavor and the dish tastes good but most of the time the meat isn't tasting fresh or hot. It's been happening almost every time during my recent several visits. Lastly, the service... this is the part that has improved significantly since they opened but still isn't where it needs to be. Initially the service was so bad, I had sworn off this restaurant indefinitely. I eventually forgave briki and went back, the service was slightly better but still subpar to any average restaurant. Despite not being completely busy during any of my visits, the service always falls short. At one point a man (who I believe to be an owner or manager) started to set down our sizzling hot saganaki plate right in front of my infant son who reaches for everything. When we stopped him and asked him to set it away from the baby, he plopped it down in front of my mom with no comment and just turned around and walked away. During my most recent visit, I had a couple particularly bizarre issues that I'd like to call out. First, one of our waters brought to the table tasted like dirty rag water... only after I tasted it did I look into the glass and it looked like little white things were floating in it. The other 2 glasses tasted normal, so I'm not sure what happened with that one but it was so gross. Also, the gyro meat was dry on the edges and came out cold on both dishes we ordered with it. It didn't taste fresh sat all. Even further, I ordered a single espresso shot and communicated it clearly to our waitress but she charged me for a double. I couldn't tell if what I received was actually a single or double but regardless, billing errors always annoy me. Specifically this one bc to me it was not worth complaining about the $1 error, yet I paid for something I didn't not order after spending $80 (with tip) on 3 people. Again, briki has potential but needs big help to get it right. Right now they are on thin ice with losing my business for good- idk how many more chances I can give them. If they can correct their issues, I would be a regular customer with multiple visits a week. read more

Decided to try this place for the first time today. Food was average, typical Greek breakfast joint. I ordered an omelet and the French toast for a side. This place uses a "fancy" bottle for their syrup. Well when I went to pour my syrup a few BUGS came pouring out the spout covered in the brown goo of syrup. I told my waitress who seemed mortified. She took the plate back to her manager who seems like he couldn't care less. I was offered compensation of a coffee or a donut. But at that point my experience was spoiled probably never go back. Great little mom and pop place !!! The ambiance is nice and the staff is great and always friendly. I have already been there a few times and I make sure to try something new each time. I have yet to try something that I did not like. My favorite is the spicy omelet , the portions are very large so you will have to take it home. Food has always been fresh and made to order , coffee is outstanding and the real deal. I have had a couple of meetings there as well and the staff and management have been great they don't force you out or make you feel like you're on a time crunch. My favorite appetizer is the fried zucchini make sure to try that!! The jelly is homemade and delicious!! Highly recommended hidden treasure in our neighborhood. Lonely place and Bad customer service. Went there for for dinner to sit out in the patio one a beautiful night. Immediately after sitting we smelled smoke. Did not think much of it until after we ordered. Some other guests that look to have been there for a while started smoking. I asked them if they can hold off on smoking while we eat as it can be hazardous to my asthma. Instead they giggled and offered to switch spots. I refused since the smoke still travels. And why would I want to eat where they have been smoking. Instead the other guy lit another. Clearly no respect for a fellow man. The waitress, instead of following the Illinois guidelines, said she doesn't make the rules and it is a smoking section. Illinois guidelines says no smoking within 15 ft of the entrance, vent or windows. The two smokers were 3ft from the front door and door to get to the patio. There was no signs to indicate a smoking section nor were we given the option of a non smoking section. No apologies from either smokers nor staff. Now I see why it was empty during peak dinner hour. I've been there twice before but wife never liked it and we finally had a chance to go and now they have lost me as a customer. read more
